Deuteronomy 7

1When Jehovah thy GodH430 shall bringH935 thee into the landH776 whither thou goest to possessH3423 it, and shall cast out manyH7227 nationsH1471 before thee, the HittiteH2850, and the GirgashiteH1622, and the AmoriteH567, and the CanaaniteH3669, and the PerizziteH6522, and the HiviteH2340, and the JebusiteH2983, sevenH7651 nationsH1471 greaterH7227 and mightierH6099 than thou; 2and when Jehovah thy GodH430 shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroyH2763 them: thou shalt makeH5414 no covenantH1285 with them, nor show mercy unto them; 3neither shalt thou makeH5414 marriages with them; thy daughterH1323 thou shalt not giveH5414 unto his sonH1121, nor his daughterH1323 shalt thou takeH3947 unto thy sonH1121. 4For he will turnH5493 awayH5493 thy sonH1121 from following me, that they may serveH5647 otherH312 godsH430: so will the angerH639 of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he will destroyH8045 thee quicklyH4118. 5But thusH3541 shall ye deal with them: ye shall breakH7665 down their altarsH4196, and dash in pieces their pillarsH4676, and hew downH5422 their Asherim, and burnH8313 their graven images with fireH784.

6For thou art a holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto Jehovah thy GodH430: Jehovah thy GodH430 hath chosenH977 thee to beH1961 a peopleH5971 for his own possessionH5459, above all peoplesH5971 that are upon the faceH6440 of the earthH127. 7Jehovah did not set his love upon you, nor chooseH977 you, because ye were more in number than any peopleH5971; for ye were the fewestH4592 of all peoplesH5971: 8but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keepH8104 the oathH7621 which he sware unto your fathersH1, hath Jehovah broughtH3318 you out with a mightyH2389 handH3027, and redeemedH6299 you out of the houseH1004 of bondage, from the handH3027 of PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714. 9KnowH3045 therefore that Jehovah thy GodH430, he is GodH430, the faithfulH539 GodH430, who keepeth covenantH1285 and lovingkindness with them that loveH157 him and keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687 to a thousandH505 generationsH1755, 10and repayeth them that hateH8130 him to their faceH6440, to destroyH6 them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repayH7999 him to his faceH6440. 11Thou shalt therefore keepH8104 the commandmentH4687, and the statutesH2706, and the ordinancesH4941, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, to do them.

12And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinancesH4941, and keepH8104 and do them, that Jehovah thy GodH430 will keepH8104 with thee the covenantH1285 and the lovingkindness which he sware unto thy fathersH1: 13and he will loveH157 thee, and blessH1288 thee, and multiplyH7235 thee; he will also blessH1288 the fruitH6529 of thy body and the fruitH6529 of thy groundH127, thy grainH1715 and thy newH8492 wineH8492 and thine oilH3323, the increaseH7235 of thy cattle and the youngH6251 of thy flockH6629, in the landH127 which he sware unto thy fathersH1 to giveH5414 thee. 14Thou shalt beH1961 blessedH1288 above all peoplesH5971: there shall not beH1961 male or female barrenH6135 among you, or among your cattleH929. 15And Jehovah will take awayH5493 from thee all sicknessH2483; and none of the evilH7451 diseases of EgyptH4714, which thou knowest, will he putH5414 upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hateH8130 thee. 16And thou shalt consumeH398 all the peoplesH5971 that Jehovah thy GodH430 shall deliver unto thee; thine eyeH5869 shall not pityH2347 them: neither shalt thou serveH5647 their godsH430; for that will be a snareH4170 unto thee.

17If thou shalt sayH559 in thy heartH3824, These nationsH1471 are moreH4480 than I; howH349 can I dispossessH3423 them? 18thou shalt not be afraidH3372 of them: thou shalt well rememberH2142 what Jehovah thy GodH430 did unto PharaohH6547, and unto all EgyptH4714; 19the greatH1419 trials which thine eyesH5869 sawH7200, and the signsH226, and the wondersH4159, and the mightyH2389 handH3027, and the outstretchedH5186 armH2220, whereby Jehovah thy GodH430 broughtH3318 thee out: soH3651 shall Jehovah thy GodH430 do unto all the peoplesH5971 of whom thou art afraidH3373. 20Moreover Jehovah thy GodH430 will sendH7971 the hornetH6880 among them, until they that are leftH7604, and hideH5641 themselves, perishH6 from before thee. 21Thou shalt not be affrighted at them; for Jehovah thy GodH430 is in the midstH7130 of thee, a greatH1419 GodH430 and a terrible. 22And Jehovah thy GodH430 will cast out those nationsH1471 before thee by littleH4592 and littleH4592: thou mayest not consume them at once, lestH6435 the beasts of the fieldH7704 increaseH7235 upon thee. 23But Jehovah thy GodH430 will deliver them up before thee, and will discomfit them with a greatH1419 discomfiture, until they be destroyedH8045. 24And he will deliver their kingsH4428 into thy handH3027, and thou shalt makeH5414 their nameH8034 to perishH6 from under heavenH8064: there shall no manH376 be able to standH3320 before thee, until thou have destroyedH8045 them. 25The graven images of their godsH430 shall ye burnH8313 with fireH784: thou shalt not covetH2530 the silverH3701 or the goldH2091 that is on them, nor takeH3947 it unto thee, lestH6435 thou be snared therein; for it is an abominationH8441 to Jehovah thy GodH430. 26And thou shalt not bringH935 an abominationH8441 into thy houseH1004, and becomeH1961 a devoted thingH8441 like unto it: thou shalt utterly detestH8262 it, and thou shalt utterly abhorH8581 it; for it is a devoted thingH8441.
