Deuteronomy 31
1And MosesH4872 went and spake these wordsH1697 unto all IsraelH3478. 2And he saidH559 unto them, I am a hundredH3967 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141 old this dayH3117; I can no more goH3318 out and comeH935 in: and Jehovah hath saidH559 unto me, Thou shalt not goH3318 over this JordanH3383. 3Jehovah thy GodH430, he will go over before thee; he will destroyH8045 these nationsH1471 from before thee, and thou shalt dispossessH3423 them: and JoshuaH3091, he shall go over before thee, as Jehovah hath spokenH1696. 4And Jehovah will do unto them as he did to SihonH5511 and to OgH5747, the kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567, and unto their landH776; whom he destroyedH8045. 5And Jehovah will deliver them up before you, and ye shall do unto them according unto all the commandmentH4687 which I have commandedH6680 you. 6Be strongH2388 and of good courage, fearH3372 not, nor be affrighted at them: for Jehovah thy GodH430, he it is that doth goH1980 with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsakeH5800 thee. 7And MosesH4872 calledH7121 unto JoshuaH3091, and saidH559 unto him in the sight of all IsraelH3478, Be strongH2388 and of good courage: for thou shalt goH935 with this peopleH5971 into the landH776 which Jehovah hath swornH7650 unto their fathersH1 to giveH5414 them; and thou shalt cause them to inheritH5157 it. 8And Jehovah, he it is that doth goH1980 before thee; he will beH1961 with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsakeH5800 thee: fearH3372 not, neither beH1961 dismayedH2865.
9And MosesH4872 wroteH3789 this lawH8451, and delivered it unto the priestsH3548 the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878, that bare the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of Jehovah, and unto all the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478. 10And MosesH4872 commandedH6680 them, sayingH559, At the endH7093 of every sevenH7651 yearsH8141, in the set timeH4150 of the yearH8141 of release, in the feastH2282 of tabernacles, 11whenH834 all IsraelH3478 is comeH935 to appearH7200 before Jehovah thy GodH430 in the placeH4725 which he shall chooseH977, thou shalt readH7121 this lawH8451 before all IsraelH3478 in their hearing. 12AssembleH6950 the peopleH5971, the menH376 and the womenH802 and the littleH2945 onesH2945, and thy sojournerH1616 that is within thy gatesH8179, that they may hearH8085, and that they may learnH3925, and fearH3372 Jehovah your GodH430, and observeH8104 to do all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451; 13and that their children, who have not knownH3045, may hearH8085, and learnH3925 to fearH3372 Jehovah your GodH430, as long as ye live in the landH127 whither ye go over the JordanH3383 to possessH3423 it.
14And Jehovah saidH559 unto MosesH4872, Behold, thy daysH3117 approach that thou must dieH4191: callH7121 JoshuaH3091, and presentH7126 yourselves in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, that I may give him a charge. And MosesH4872 and JoshuaH3091 went, and presentedH7126 themselves in the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 15And Jehovah appearedH7200 in the TentH168 in a pillarH5982 of cloudH6051: and the pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 stoodH5975 over the doorH6607 of the TentH168. 16And Jehovah saidH559 unto MosesH4872, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathersH1; and this peopleH5971 will riseH6965 up, and playH2181 the harlot after the strange godsH430 of the landH776, whither they goH935 to be among them, and will forsakeH5800 me, and breakH6565 my covenantH1285 which I have madeH3772 with them. 17Then my angerH639 shall beH1961 kindled against them in that dayH3117, and I will forsakeH5800 them, and I will hideH5641 my faceH6440 from them, and they shall beH1961 devouredH398, and manyH7227 evils and troubles shall come upon them; so that they will sayH559 in that dayH3117, Are not these evils come upon us because our GodH430 is not among us? 18And I will surely hideH5641 my faceH6440 in that dayH3117 for all the evilH7451 which they shall have wrought, in that they are turnedH6437 unto otherH312 godsH430. 19NowH6258 thereforeH6258 writeH3789 ye this songH7892 for you, and teachH3925 thou it the children of IsraelH3478: putH7760 it in their mouthsH6310, that this songH7892 may beH1961 a witnessH5707 for me against the children of IsraelH3478. 20For when I shall have broughtH935 them into the landH127 which I sware unto their fathersH1, flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706, and they shall have eatenH398 and filled themselves, and waxed fatH1878; then will they turnH6437 unto otherH312 godsH430, and serveH5647 them, and despise me, and breakH6565 my covenantH1285. 21And it shall comeH935 to pass, when manyH7227 evils and troubles are comeH935 upon them, that this songH7892 shall testifyH6030 before them as a witnessH5707; for it shall not beH1961 forgottenH7911 out of the mouthsH6310 of their seedH2233: for I knowH3045 their imagination which they frame this dayH3117, before I have broughtH935 them into the landH776 which I sware. 22So MosesH4872 wroteH3789 this songH7892 the same dayH3117, and taughtH3925 it the children of IsraelH3478. 23And he gave JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126 a charge, and saidH559, BeH1961 strongH2388 and of good courage; for thou shalt bringH935 the children of IsraelH3478 into the landH776 which I sware unto them: and I will beH1961 with thee.
24And it came to pass, when MosesH4872 had made an endH3615 of writingH3789 the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 in a bookH5612, until they wereH1961 finishedH3615, 25that MosesH4872 commandedH6680 the LevitesH3881, that bare the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of Jehovah, sayingH559, 26TakeH3947 this bookH5612 of the lawH8451, and putH7760 it by the sideH6654 of the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of Jehovah your GodH430, that it may beH1961 there for a witnessH5707 against thee. 27For I knowH3045 thy rebellionH4805, and thy stiff neckH6203: behold, while I am yetH5750 aliveH2416 with you this dayH3117, ye have beenH1961 rebelliousH4805 against Jehovah; and how much more after my deathH4194? 28AssembleH6950 unto me all the eldersH2205 of your tribesH7626, and your officersH7860, that I may speakH1696 these wordsH1697 in their earsH241, and call heavenH8064 and earthH776 to witness against them. 29For I knowH3045 that after my deathH4194 ye will utterly corruptH7843 yourselves, and turnH5493 asideH5493 from the wayH1870 which I have commandedH6680 you; and evilH7451 will befall you in the latterH319 daysH3117; because ye will do that which is evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, to provokeH3707 him to angerH3707 through the workH4639 of your handsH3027.
30And MosesH4872 spake in the earsH241 of all the assemblyH6951 of IsraelH3478 the wordsH1697 of this songH7892, until they were finishedH8552.
