Deuteronomy 14

1Ye are the children of Jehovah your GodH430: ye shall not cutH1413 yourselves, nor makeH7760 any baldnessH7144 between your eyesH5869 for the deadH4191. 2For thou art a holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto Jehovah thy GodH430, and Jehovah hath chosenH977 thee to beH1961 a peopleH5971 for his own possessionH5459, above all peoplesH5971 that are upon the faceH6440 of the earthH127.

3Thou shalt not eatH398 any abominable thingH8441. 4These are the beasts which ye may eatH398: the oxH7794, the sheepH7716, and the goatH5795, 5the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the antelopeH8377, and the chamois. 6And every beast that parteth the hoofH6541, and hath the hoofH6541 cloven in twoH8147, and cheweth the cudH1625, among the beasts, that may ye eatH398. 7NeverthelessH389 these ye shall not eatH398 of them that chew the cudH1625, or of them that have the hoofH6541 cloven: the camelH1581, and the hareH768, and the coney; because they chew the cudH1625 but part not the hoofH6541, they are uncleanH2931 unto you. 8And the swine, because he parteth the hoofH6541 but cheweth not the cudH1625, he is uncleanH2931 unto you: of their fleshH1320 ye shall not eatH398, and their carcassesH5038 ye shall not touchH5060.

9These ye may eatH398 of all that are in the watersH4325: whatsoever hath finsH5579 and scalesH7193 may ye eatH398; 10and whatsoever hath not finsH5579 and scalesH7193 ye shall not eatH398; it is uncleanH2931 unto you.

11Of all cleanH2889 birdsH6833 ye may eatH398. 12But these are they of which ye shall not eatH398: the eagleH5404, and the gier-eagle, and the ospray, 13and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kindH4327, 14and every ravenH6158 after its kindH4327, 15and the ostrichH3284, and the night-hawk, and the sea-mew, and the hawk after its kindH4327, 16the little owlH3244, and the greatH3244 owlH3244, and the horned owlH3244, 17and the pelican, and the vultureH7360, and the cormorantH7994, 18and the storkH2624, and the heronH601 after its kindH4327, and the hoopoeH1744, and the batH5847. 19And all wingedH5775 creeping things are uncleanH2931 unto you: they shall not be eatenH398. 20Of all cleanH2889 birdsH5775 ye may eatH398.

21Ye shall not eatH398 of anything that dieth of itself: thou mayest giveH5414 it unto the sojournerH1616 that is within thy gatesH8179, that he may eatH398 it; or thou mayest sellH4376 it unto a foreignerH5237: for thou art a holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto Jehovah thy GodH430. Thou shalt not boilH1310 a kid in its mother’sH517 milkH2461.

22Thou shalt surely titheH6237 all the increase of thy seedH2233, that which cometh forthH3318 from the fieldH7704 yearH8141 by yearH8141. 23And thou shalt eatH398 before Jehovah thy GodH430, in the placeH4725 which he shall chooseH977, to cause his nameH8034 to dwellH7931 there, the titheH4643 of thy grainH1715, of thy newH8492 wineH8492, and of thine oilH3323, and the firstlings of thy herdH1241 and of thy flockH6629; that thou mayest learnH3925 to fearH3372 Jehovah thy GodH430 always. 24And if the wayH1870 be too long for thee, so that thou art not ableH3201 to carryH5375 it, because the placeH4725 is too farH7368 from thee, which Jehovah thy GodH430 shall chooseH977, to setH7760 his nameH8034 there, when Jehovah thy GodH430 shall blessH1288 thee; 25then shalt thou turn it into moneyH3701, and bind up the moneyH3701 in thy handH3027, and shalt goH1980 unto the placeH4725 which Jehovah thy GodH430 shall chooseH977: 26and thou shalt bestow the moneyH3701 for whatsoever thy soulH5315 desireth, for oxenH1241, or for sheepH6629, or for wineH3196, or for strongH7941 drinkH7941, or for whatsoever thy soulH5315 asketh of thee; and thou shalt eatH398 there before Jehovah thy GodH430, and thou shalt rejoiceH8055, thou and thy householdH1004. 27And the LeviteH3881 that is within thy gatesH8179, thou shalt not forsakeH5800 him; for he hath no portionH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with thee.

28At the endH7097 of every threeH7969 yearsH8141 thou shalt bringH3318 forthH3318 all the titheH4643 of thine increase in the same yearH8141, and shalt lay it up within thy gatesH8179: 29and the LeviteH3881, because he hath no portionH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with thee, and the sojournerH1616, and the fatherlessH3490, and the widowH490, that are within thy gatesH8179, shall comeH935, and shall eatH398 and be satisfiedH7646; that Jehovah thy GodH430 may blessH1288 thee in all the workH4639 of thy handH3027 which thou doest.
