Deuteronomy 2:8-25

8So we passedH5674 by from our brethren the children of EsauH6215, that dwellH3427 in SeirH8165, from the wayH1870 of the ArabahH6160 from ElathH359 and from Ezion-geberH6100.

And we turnedH6437 and passedH5674 by the wayH1870 of the wildernessH4057 of MoabH4124. 9And Jehovah saidH559 unto me, Vex not MoabH4124, neither contend with them in battleH4421; for I will not giveH5414 thee of his landH776 for a possessionH3425; because I have givenH5414 ArH6144 unto the children of LotH3876 for a possessionH3425. 10(The Emim dweltH3427 therein aforetime, a peopleH5971 greatH1419, and manyH7227, and tall, as the Anakim: 11these alsoH637 are accountedH2803 RephaimH7497, as the Anakim; but the MoabitesH4125 callH7121 them Emim. 12The Horites also dweltH3427 in SeirH8165 aforetime, but the children of EsauH6215 succeeded them; and they destroyedH8045 them from before them, and dweltH3427 in their stead; as IsraelH3478 did unto the landH776 of his possessionH3423, which Jehovah gaveH5414 unto them). 13NowH6258 riseH6965 up, and get you over the brook ZeredH2218. And we went over the brook ZeredH2218. 14And the daysH3117 in which we cameH1980 from Kadesh-barneaH6947, until we were comeH1980 over the brook ZeredH2218, were thirtyH7970 and eightH8083 yearsH8141; until all the generationH1755 of the menH376 of warH4421 were consumed from the midstH7130 of the campH4264, as Jehovah sware unto them. 15Moreover the handH3027 of Jehovah wasH1961 against them, to destroy them from the midstH7130 of the campH4264, until they wereH1961 consumed.

16So it came to pass, when all the menH376 of warH4421 were consumed and deadH4191 from among the peopleH5971, 17that Jehovah spake unto me, sayingH559, 18Thou art this dayH3117 to passH5674 over ArH6144, the borderH1366 of MoabH4124: 19and when thou comest nigh over against the children of AmmonH5983, vex them not, nor contend with them; for I will not giveH5414 thee of the landH776 of the children of AmmonH5983 for a possessionH3425; because I have givenH5414 it unto the children of LotH3876 for a possessionH3425. 20(That alsoH637 is accountedH2803 a landH776 of RephaimH7497: RephaimH7497 dweltH3427 therein aforetime; but the AmmonitesH5984 callH7121 them Zamzummim, 21a peopleH5971 greatH1419, and manyH7227, and tall, as the Anakim; but Jehovah destroyedH8045 them before them; and they succeeded them, and dweltH3427 in their stead; 22as he did for the children of EsauH6215, that dwellH3427 in SeirH8165, when he destroyedH8045 the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and dweltH3427 in their stead even unto this dayH3117. 23And the Avvim, that dweltH3427 in villages as far as GazaH5804, the Caphtorim, that cameH3318 forthH3318 out of CaphtorH3731, destroyedH8045 them, and dweltH3427 in their stead.) 24RiseH6965 ye up, takeH3423 your journey, and passH5674 over the valley of the ArnonH769: behold, I have givenH5414 into thy handH3027 SihonH5511 the AmoriteH567, kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, and his landH776; beginH2490 to possessH3423 it, and contend with him in battleH4421. 25This dayH3117 will I beginH2490 to putH5414 the dreadH6343 of thee and the fearH3374 of thee upon the peoplesH5971 that are under the whole heavenH8064, who shall hearH8085 the reportH8088 of thee, and shall trembleH7264, and be in anguishH2342 because of thee.
