Deuteronomy 2:8-25
8“So we passedH5674 beyondH5674H4480 our brothersH251 the sonsH1121 of EsauH6215, who liveH3427 in SeirH8165, awayH4480 from the 1ArabahH6160 roadH1870, awayH4480 from ElathH365 and 2from Ezion-geberH6100. And we turnedH6437 and passedH5674 throughH5674 by the wayH1870 of the wildernessH4057 of MoabH4124. 9Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, ‘Do not harassH6696 MoabH4124, norH408 provokeH1624 them to warH4421, for I will not giveH5414 you anyH4480 of 3their landH776 as a possessionH3425, becauseH3588 I have givenH5414 4ArH6144 to 5the sonsH1121 of LotH3876 as a possessionH3425.’ 10(The 6EmimH368 livedH3427 there formerlyH6440, a peopleH5971 as greatH1419, numerousH7227, and tallH7311 as the AnakimH6062. 11Like the AnakimH6062, they are alsoH637 regardedH2803 as 7RephaimH7497, but the MoabitesH4125 callH7121 them EmimH368. 128The HoritesH2752 formerlyH6440 livedH3427 in SeirH8165, but the sonsH1121 of EsauH6215 dispossessedH3423 them and destroyedH8045 them from beforeH6440 them and settledH3427 in their placeH8478, 9justH3512 as IsraelH3478 didH6213 to the landH776 of 10their possessionH3425 whichH834 the LordH3068 gaveH5414 to them.) 13‘NowH6258 ariseH6965 and crossH5674 overH5674 the 11brookH5158 ZeredH2218 yourselves.’ So we crossedH5674 overH5674 the 12brookH5158 ZeredH2218. 14Now the 13timeH3117 that it tookH1980 for us to comeH1980 from Kadesh-barneaH6947 untilH5704H834 we crossedH5674 overH5674 the 14brookH5158 ZeredH2218 was 15thirty-eightH7970H8083 yearsH8141, untilH5704 16allH3605 the generationH1755 of the menH376 of warH4421 perishedH8552 from withinH7130 the campH4264, as 17the LordH3068 had swornH7650 to them. 1518MoreoverH1571 the handH3027 of the LordH3068 was against them, to destroyH2000 them from withinH7130 the campH4264 untilH5704 they all perishedH8552.
16“So it cameH1961 about whenH3512 19allH3605 the menH376 of warH4421 had finallyH8552 perishedH8552H4191 from amongH7130 the peopleH5971, 17that the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to me, sayingH559, 18‘TodayH3117 you shall crossH5674 overH5674 20ArH6144, the borderH1366 of MoabH4124. 19When you comeH7126 oppositeH4136 the 21sonsH1121 of AmmonH5983, do not harassH6696 them norH408 provokeH1624 them, for I will not giveH5414 you anyH4480 of the landH776 of the sonsH1121 of AmmonH5983 as a possessionH3425, becauseH3588 I have givenH5414 it to 22the sonsH1121 of LotH3876 as a possessionH3425.’ 20(It is alsoH637 regardedH2803 as the landH776 of the 23RephaimH7497, for RephaimH7497 formerlyH6440 livedH3427 in it, but the AmmonitesH5984 callH7121 them ZamzumminH2157, 21a peopleH5971 as greatH1419, numerousH7227, and tallH7311 as the AnakimH6062, but the LordH3068 destroyedH8045 them beforeH6440 them. And they dispossessedH3423 them and settledH3427 in their placeH8478, 22justH3512 as He didH6213 for the sonsH1121 of EsauH6215, who 24liveH3427 in SeirH8165, whenH834 He destroyedH8045 25the HoritesH2752 from beforeH6440 them; they dispossessedH3423 them and settledH3427 in their placeH8478 evenH5704 to thisH2088 dayH3117. 23And the 26AvvimH5761, who livedH3427 in villagesH2691 as farH5704 as GazaH5804, the 2728CaphtorimH3732 who cameH3318 from 2930CaphtorH3731, destroyedH8045 them and livedH3427 in their placeH8478.) 24‘AriseH6965, setH5265 out, and passH5674 throughH5674 the 3132valleyH5158 of ArnonH769. LookH7200! I have givenH5414 SihonH5511 the AmoriteH567, kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, and his landH776 into your handH3027; beginH2490 to takeH3423 possessionH3423 and contendH1624 with him in battleH4421. 25ThisH2088 dayH3117 I will beginH2490 to putH5414 33the dreadH6343 and fearH3374 of you 34upon the peoplesH5971 35everywhereH3605 underH8478 the heavensH8064, whoH834, when they hearH8085 the reportH8088 of you, 36will trembleH7264 and be in anguishH2342 becauseH4480H6440 of you.’
