Deuteronomy 2:8-25
8So we passed byH5674H854 our brothersH251, the descendantsH1121 of EsauH6215, who liveH3427 in SeirH8165. We turned awayH6437 from the ArabahH6160 roadH1870, which comes up from ElathH359 and Ezion-geberH6100, and traveledH5674 along the roadH1870 of the WildernessH4057 of MoabH4124. 9Then the LORDH3068 saidH559 to meH413, “Do notH413 harassH6696 the MoabitesH4124 or provokeH1624 them to warH4421, forH3588 I will notH3808 giveH5414 you any of their landH776, becauseH3588 I have givenH5414 ArH6144 to the descendantsH1121 of LotH3876 as their possessionH3425.”
10(The EmitesH368 used toH6440 liveH3427 there, a peopleH5971 greatH1419 and manyH7227, as tallH7311 as the AnakitesH6062. 11Like the AnakitesH6062, they were alsoH637H1992 regardedH2803 as RephaimH7497, though the MoabitesH4125 calledH7121 them EmitesH368. 12The HoritesH2752 used toH6440 liveH3427 in SeirH8165, but the descendantsH1121 of EsauH6215 drove them outH3423. They destroyedH8045 the Horites from before themH6440 and settledH3427 in their placeH8478, just asH834 IsraelH3478 didH6213 in the landH776 thatH834 the LORDH3068 gaveH5414 them as their possessionH3425.)
13“NowH6258 ariseH6965 and cross overH5674 the BrookH5158 of ZeredH2218.”
So we crossed overH5674 the BrookH5158 of ZeredH2218.
14The timeH3117 we spent travelingH1980 fromH6947 Kadesh-barneaH6947 untilH5704 we crossed overH5674 the BrookH5158 of ZeredH2218 was thirty-eightH7970H8083 yearsH8141, untilH5704 that entireH3605 generationH1755 of fightingH4421 menH582 had perishedH8552 fromH7130 the campH4264, asH834 the LORDH3068 had swornH7650 to them. 15IndeedH1571, the LORD’sH3068 handH3027 wasH1961 against them, to eliminate themH2000 fromH7130 the campH4264, untilH5704 they had all perishedH8552.
16NowH1961 whenH834H8552 allH3605 the fightingH4421 menH582 amongH7130 the peopleH5971 had diedH4191, 17the LORDH3068 saidH1696 to meH413H559, 18“TodayH3117 youH859 are going to crossH5674 the borderH1366 of MoabH4124 at ArH6144. 19But when you get closeH7126 toH4136 the AmmonitesH1121H5983, do notH408 harass themH6696H408 or provokeH1624 them, forH3588 I will notH3808 giveH5414 you any of the landH776 of the AmmonitesH1121H5983. I have given itH5414 to the descendantsH1121 of LotH3876 as their possessionH3425.”
20(That tooH637 was regardedH2803 as the landH776 of the RephaimH7497, who used to liveH3427 thereH6440, though the AmmonitesH5984 calledH7121 them ZamzummitesH2157. 21They were a peopleH5971 greatH1419 and manyH7227, as tallH7311 as the AnakitesH6062. But the LORDH3068 destroyed themH8045 from beforeH6440 the Ammonites, who drove them outH3423 and settledH3427 in their placeH8478, 22just asH834 He had doneH6213 for the descendantsH1121 of EsauH6215 who livedH3427 in SeirH8165, whenH834 He destroyedH8045 the HoritesH2752 from before themH6440. They drove them outH3423 and have livedH3427 in their placeH8478 toH5704 thisH2088 dayH3117. 23And the AvvimH5761, who livedH3427 in villagesH2691 asH5704 far as GazaH5804, were destroyed byH8045 the CaphtoritesH3732, who cameH3318 out of CaphtorH37311 and settledH3427 in their placeH8478.)
24“AriseH6965, set outH5265, and crossH5674 the ArnonH769 ValleyH5158. SeeH7200, I have deliveredH5414 into your handH3027 SihonH5511 the AmoriteH567, kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, and his landH776. BeginH2490 to take possession of itH3423 and engageH1624 him in battleH4421. 25This veryH2088 dayH3117 I will beginH2490 to putH5414 the dreadH6343 and fearH3374 of youH5921 upon allH3605 the nationsH6440H5971 underH8478 heavenH8064. They will hearH8085 the reports of youH8088 and trembleH7264 in anguishH2342 because of youH6440.”
