1“You are 1the sonsH1121 of the LordH3068 your GodH430; 2you shall not cutH1413 yourselves norH3808 3shaveH7760H7144 your foreheadH996H5869 for the sake of the deadH4191. 2For you are 4a holyH6918 peopleH5971 to the LordH3068 your GodH430, and the LordH3068 has chosenH977 you to be a 5peopleH5971 for His 6own possessionH5459 out of allH3605 the peoplesH5971 whoH834 are on the faceH6440 of the earthH127.

3“7You shall not eatH398 anyH3605 detestableH8441 thingH8441. 48TheseH2088 are the animalsH929 whichH834 you may eatH398: the oxH7794, the sheepH3775H7716, the goatH5795, 59the deerH354, the gazelleH6643, the roebuckH3180, the wildH689 goatH689, the ibexH1788, the antelopeH8377 and the mountainH2169 sheepH2169. 6AnyH3605 animalH929 that dividesH6536 the hoofH6541 and hasH8156 the hoofH8157 splitH8156 in 10twoH8147 and 11chewsH5927 the cudH1625, among the animalsH929, that you may eatH398. 7NeverthelessH389, you are not to eatH398 of theseH2088 amongH4480 those which 12chewH5927 the cudH1625, or amongH4480 those that divideH6536 the hoofH6541 in 13twoH8156: the camelH1581 and the 14rabbitH768 and the 15shaphanH8227, for though they 16chewH5927 the cudH1625, they do not divideH6536 the hoofH6541; they are uncleanH2931 for you. 8The pigH2386, becauseH3588 it dividesH6536 the hoofH6541 but does not chew the cudH1625, it is uncleanH2931 for you. You shall not eatH398 anyH4480 of their fleshH1320 norH3808 touchH5060 their carcassesH5038.

9“TheseH2088 you may eatH398 of allH3605 that are in waterH4325: anythingH3605 that has finsH5579 and scalesH7193 you may eatH398, 10but anythingH3605 that does not haveH369 finsH5579 and scalesH7193 you shall not eatH398; it is uncleanH2931 for you.

11“You may eatH398 anyH3605 cleanH2889 birdH6833. 12But 17theseH2088 are the ones whichH834 you shall not eatH398: the 18eagleH5404 and the vultureH6538 and the 19buzzardH5822, 13and the red kiteH1676, the falconH344, and the kiteH1676 in their kindsH4327, 14and everyH3605 ravenH6158 in its kindH4327, 15and the ostrichH3284, the owlH8464, the seaH7828 gullH7828, and the hawkH5322 in their kindsH4327, 16the littleH3563 owlH3563, the 20greatH3244 owlH3244, the whiteH8580 owlH8580, 17the pelicanH6893, the carrionH7360 vultureH7360, the cormorantH7994, 18the storkH2624, and the heronH601 in their kindsH4327, and the hoopoeH1744 and the batH5847. 19And allH3605 the 21teemingH8318 lifeH8318 with wingsH5775 are uncleanH2931 to you; they shall not be eatenH398. 20You may eatH398 anyH3605 cleanH2889 birdH5775.

21“22You shall not eatH398 anythingH3605 whichH5038 diesH5038 of itself. You may giveH5414 it to the alienH1616 whoH834 is in your 23townH8179, so that he may eatH398 it, orH176 you may sellH4376 it to a foreignerH5237, for you are 24a holyH6918 peopleH5971 to the LordH3068 your GodH430. 25You shall not boilH1310 a youngH1423 goatH1423 in its mother’sH517 milkH2461.

22“You 26shall surelyH6237 titheH6237 allH3605 the produceH8393 from 27whatH2233 you sowH2233, which comesH3318 out of the fieldH7704 everyH8141 yearH8141. 23You shall eatH398 in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 your GodH430, 28at the placeH4725 whereH834H8033 He choosesH977 to establishH7931 His nameH8034, the titheH4643 of your grainH1715, your newH8492 wineH8492, your oilH3323, and the firstbornH1060 of your herdH1241 and your flockH6629, soH4616 that you may 29learnH3925 to fearH3372 the LordH3068 your GodH430 alwaysH3605H3117. 24IfH3588 the 30distanceH1870 is so greatH7235 for you that you are not ableH3201 to 31bringH5375 the tithe, sinceH3588 the placeH4725 whereH834H8033 the LordH3068 your GodH430 choosesH977 32to setH7760 His nameH8034 is too farH7368 away from you whenH3588 the LordH3068 your GodH430 blessesH1288 you, 25then you shall 33exchangeH5414 it for moneyH3701, and bindH6696 the moneyH3701 in your handH3027 and goH1980 to the placeH4725 whichH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 choosesH977. 26You may spendH5414 the moneyH3701 for whateverH3605H834 your 34heartH5315 desiresH183: for oxenH1241, or sheepH6629, or wineH3196, or strongH7941 drinkH7941, or whateverH3605H834 your 35heartH5315 36desiresH7592; and 37thereH8033 you shall eatH398 in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 your GodH430 and rejoiceH8055, you and your householdH1004. 27Also you shall not neglectH5800 38the LeviteH3881 whoH834 is in your 39townH8179, 40for he hasH369 noH369 portionH2506 or inheritanceH5159 amongH5973 you.

28“41At the endH7097 of every thirdH7969 yearH8141 you shall bringH3318 out allH3605 the titheH4643 of your produceH8393 in that yearH8141, and shall depositH5117 it in your 42townH8179. 29The LeviteH3881, 43becauseH3588 he hasH369 noH369 portionH2506 or inheritanceH5159 amongH5973 you, and 44the alienH1616, the 45orphanH3490 and the widowH490 whoH834 are in your 46townH8179, shall comeH935 and 47eatH398 and be satisfiedH7646, in orderH4616 that 48the LordH3068 your GodH430 may blessH1288 you in allH3605 the workH4639 of your handH3027 whichH834 you doH6213.
