Matthew 26:49-63
49And immediatelyG2112 Judas wentG4334 upG4334 toG4334 JesusG2424 and saidG3004, “GreetingsG5463, 1RabbiG4461!” and kissedG2705 Him. 50But JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “2FriendG2083, do whatG3739 you haveG3918 comeG3918 for.” ThenG5119 they cameG4334 and laidG1911 handsG5495 on JesusG2424 and arrestedG2902 Him.
51And beholdG2400, 3oneG1520 of thoseG3588 whoG3588 were with JesusG2424 4reachedG1614 and drewG645 his 5swordG3162, and struckG3960 the 6slaveG1401 of the highG749 priestG749 and 7cutG851 offG851 his earG5621. 52ThenG5119 JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “PutG654 your swordG3162 backG654 into its placeG5117; for 8allG3956 thoseG3588 who takeG2983 up the swordG3162 will perishG622 by the swordG3162. 53OrG2228 do you thinkG1380 that I cannotG1410G3756 appealG3870 to My FatherG3962, and He will at onceG737 putG3936 atG3936 My disposalG3936 moreG4183 than twelveG1427 910legionsG3003 of 11angelsG32? 54HowG4459 thenG3767 would 12the ScripturesG1124 be fulfilledG4137, which say that it mustG1163 happenG1096 thisG3779 wayG3779?”
55At that timeG5610 JesusG2424 saidG3004 to the crowdsG3793, “Have you comeG1831 outG1831 with swordsG3162 and clubsG3586 to arrestG4815 Me as you would againstG1909 a manG3027 incitingG3027 aG3027 revoltG3027? 13EveryG2596 dayG2250 I used to sitG2516 within the templeG2413 grounds teachingG1321, and you did not arrestG2902 Me. 56But allG3650 thisG3778 has takenG1096 placeG1096 soG2443 thatG2443 14the ScripturesG1124 of the prophetsG4396 will be fulfilledG4137.” ThenG5119 allG3956 the disciplesG3101 leftG863 Him and fledG5343.
5715ThoseG3588 who had arrestedG2902 JesusG2424 ledG520 Him awayG520 to 16CaiaphasG2533, the highG749 priestG749, whereG3699 the scribesG1122 and the eldersG4245 were gatheredG4863 togetherG4863. 58But 17PeterG4074 was followingG190 Him at a distanceG3113, asG2193 farG2193 asG2193 the 18courtyardG833 of the highG749 priestG749, and he cameG1525 insideG2080 and satG2521 downG2521 with the 1920officersG5257 to seeG3708 the outcomeG5056.
59NowG1161 the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the entireG3650 2122CouncilG4892 kept tryingG2212 toG2212 obtainG2212 falseG5577 testimonyG5577 againstG2596 JesusG2424, soG3704 thatG3704 they might putG2289 Him toG2289 deathG2289. 60They did not findG2147 any, even though manyG4183 falseG5577 witnessesG5577 cameG4334 forwardG4334. But laterG5305 on 23twoG1417 cameG4334 forwardG4334, 61and saidG3004, “ThisG3778 manG3778 statedG5346, ‘24I amG1410 ableG1410 to destroyG2647 the 25templeG3485 of GodG2316 and to rebuildG3618 it 26in threeG5140 daysG2250.’” 62The highG749 priestG749 stoodG450 upG450 and saidG3004 to Him, “Do You offerG611 noG3762 answerG611 for whatG5101 theseG3778 menG3778 are testifyingG2649 againstG2649 You?” 63But 27JesusG2424 keptG4623 silentG4623. 28And the highG749 priestG749 saidG3004 to Him, “I 29placeG1844 You underG1844 oathG1844 by 30the livingG2198 GodG2316, to tellG3004 us whetherG1487 You are the 31ChristG5547, 32the SonG5207 of GodG2316.”
