10ThenG2532it happenedἐγένετοegenetoG1096that asJesusἸησοῦIēsouG2424was recliningἀνακειμένουanakeimenouG345at the tablein the houseοἰκίᾳ,oikiaG3614,beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183taxτελῶναιtelōnaiG5057collectorsG5057andsinnersἁμαρτωλοὶhamartōloiG268cameἐλθόντεςelthontesG2064and begandiningσυνανέκειντοsunanekeintoG4873with JesusG2424and His disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101.
13NowδὲdeG1161goπορευθέντεςporeuthentesG4198and learnμάθετεmatheteG3129whatτίtiG5101this meansἐστιν·estinG1510: ‘I desireθέλωthelōG2309compassionἔλεοςeleosG1656,ratherG3756thanκαὶkaiG2532sacrificeθυσίαν·thusianG2378,’ forI did not comeἦλθονēlthonG2064to callκαλέσαιkalesaiG2564the righteousδικαίουςdikaiousG1342,but sinnersἁμαρτωλούςhamartōlousG268.”

15And JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidG3004to them, “TheattendantsυἱοὶhuioiG5207of the groomνυμφῶνοςnumphōnosG3567cannotμὴ δύνανταιmē dunantaiG1410G3361mournπενθεῖνpentheinG3996as longὅσονhosonG3745as the groomνυμφίος;numphiosG3566is with them, can they? But the daysἡμέραιhēmeraiG2250will comeἐλεύσονταιeleusontaiG2064whenὅτανhotanG3752the groomνυμφίος,numphiosG3566is takenG522awayἀπαρθῇaparthēaG522from them, and thenτότεtoteG5119they will fastνηστεύσουσιν.nēsteusousinG3522.
16But noG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762putsἐπιβάλλειepiballeiG1911a patchἐπίβλημαepiblēmaG1915of unshrunkἀγνάφουagnaphouG46clothῥάκουςrhakousG4470on an oldπαλαιῷ·palaiōG3820garmentἱματίῳhimatiōG2440; forthe patchπλήρωμαplērōmaG4138pullsαἴρειaireiG142awayἀπὸapoG575from the garmentἱματίου,himatiouG2440,and a worseχεῖρονcheironG5501tearσχίσμαschismaG4978resultsγίνεται.ginetaiG1096.
