2And He was transfiguredμετεμορφώθηmetemorphōthēG3339beforeἔμπροσθενemprosthenG1715them; and His faceπρόσωπονprosōponG4383shoneἔλαμψενelampsenG2989likeG5613the sunἥλιος,hēliosG2246,and His garmentsἱμάτιαhimatiaG2440becameἐγένετοegenetoG1096as whiteλευκὰleukaG3022as lightφῶς.phōsG5457.

3And beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,MosesΜωϋσῆςMōusēsG3475and ElijahἨλίαςĒliasG2243appearedG3708to them, talkingσυλλαλοῦντεςsullalountesG4814with Him.

4PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074respondedἈποκριθεὶςApokritheisG611and saidG3004to JesusἸησοῦ·IēsouG2424, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,it is goodκαλόνkalonG2570that we are hereὧδεhōdeG5602.IfεἰeiG1487You wantθέλεις,theleisG2309,I will makeποιήσωpoiēsōG4160threeτρεῖςtreisG5140tabernaclesσκηνάς,skēnasG4633hereὧδεhōdeG5602:oneμίανmianG1520for You, oneμίανmianG1520for MosesΜωϋσεῖMōuseiG3475,and oneμίαν.¶mianG1520for ElijahἨλίᾳĒliaG2243.”

5While he was stillἜτιEtiG2089speakingλαλοῦντοςlalountosG2980,a brightφωτεινὴphōteinēG5460cloudνεφέληnephelēG3507overshadowedἐπεσκίασενepeskiasenG1982them, and beholdG2400,a voiceφωνὴphōnēG5456from the cloudνεφέληςnephelēsG3507saidλέγουσα·legousaG3004, “ThisοὗτόςhoutosG3778is My belovedἀγαπητὸςagapētosG27SonυἱόςhuiosG5207,with whomᾧhōG3739I amG2106wellεὐδόκησα·eudokēsaG2106pleasedG2106;listenἀκούετεakoueteG191to Him!”

6When the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191this,they fellἔπεσανepesanG4098faceπρόσωπονprosōponG4383down to the ground and wereG5399terrifiedσφόδρα.sphodraG5399 G4970.

7And JesusἸησοῦς,IēsousG2424cameπροσῆλθενprosēlthenG4334to themand touchedἁψάμενοςhapsamenosG681them and saidG3004,“GetG1453upG1453, anddo not beG5399afraidφοβεῖσθε.phobeistheG5399.”

8And raisingἐπάραντεςeparantesG1869their eyesὀφθαλμοὺςophthalmousG3788,they sawG3708noG3762oneοὐδέναoudenaG3762exceptG1508JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424HimselfG846aloneμόνον.¶mononG3441.

9When they were comingG2597downG2597from the mountainὄρουςorousG3735,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424commandedἐνετείλατοeneteilatoG1781them, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “TellG3004the visionὅραμαhoramaG3705to noG3367oneμηδενὶmēdeniG3367untilἕωςhe'ōsG2193the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444hasrisenἐγερθῇ.¶egerthēaG1453from the deadνεκρῶνnekrōnG3498.”

10And His disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101askedἐπηρώτησανepērōtēsanG1905Him, “WhyτίtiG5101thenοὖνounG3767do the scribesγραμματεῖςgrammateisG1122sayG3004thatElijahἨλίανĒlianG2243mustδεῖdeiG1163comeἐλθεῖνeltheinG2064firstπρῶτον;¶prōtonG4413?”

11And He answeredἀποκριθεὶςapokritheisG611and saidG3004,“ElijahἨλίαςĒliasG2243is comingἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064and will restoreἀποκαταστήσειapokatastēseiG600allG3956thingsπάντα·pantaG3956;

12but I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you that ElijahἨλίαςĒliasG2243alreadyἤδηēdēG2235cameἦλθεν,ēlthenG2064,and they did not recognizeἐπέγνωσανepegnōsanG1921him, but didἐποίησανepoiēsanG4160to him whateverὅσαhosaG3745they wantedἠθέλησαν·ēthelēsanG2309.SoοὕτωςhoutōsG3779alsoG2532the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444isG3195goingG3195toG3195sufferπάσχεινpascheinG3958atG5259their handsG5259.”
