16“But to whatΤίνιTiniG5101shall I compareὁμοιώσωhomoiōsōG3666thisταύτην;tautēnG3778generationγενεὰνgeneanG1074?It is likeὁμοίαhomoiaG3664childrenπαιδίοιςpaidioisG3813sittingκαθημένοιςkathēmenoisG2521in the marketplacesἀγοραῖςagoraisG58,whoἃhaG3739callπροσφωνοῦνταprosphōnountaG4377outG4377to the otherἑτέροιςheteroisG2087children,

17and sayλέγουσιν·legousinG3004, ‘We playedG832theG832fluteG832for you, and you did not danceὠρχήσασθε,¶¬ōrchēsastheG3738;we sangG2354aG2354songG2354ofG2354mourningG2354, and you did notmournἐκόψασθε.ekopsastheG2875.’

18For JohnἸωάννηςIōannēsG2491cameἦλθενēlthenG2064neitherμήτεmēteG3383eatingἐσθίωνesthiōnG2068norμήτεmēteG3383drinkingπίνων,pinōnG4095,and they sayλέγουσιν·legousinG3004, ‘He hasἔχει.echeiG2192a demonδαιμόνιονdaimonionG1140!’
