61But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424,awareἐν ἑαυτῷen he'autōG3609 G1722 G1438that His disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101were complainingγογγύζουσινgonguzousinG1111aboutπερὶperiG4012thisτούτουtoutouG3778,saidG3004to them,“Is thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778offensiveσκανδαλίζει;skandalizeiG4624to you?

62WhatthenοὖνounG3767ifἐὰνeanG1437you seeθεωρῆτεtheōrēteG2334the SonυἱὸνhuionG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444ascendingἀναβαίνονταanabainontaG305to whereὅπουhopouG3699He was beforeπρότερον;proteronG4387?

63It is the SpiritπνεῦμάpneumaG4151who givesG2227lifeζῳοποιοῦν,zōopoiounG2227;the fleshσὰρξsarxG4561providesG5623noοὐδέν·oudenG3762benefitG5623;the wordsῥήματαrhēmataG4487that I have spokenλελάληκαlelalēkaG2980to you are spiritπνεῦμάpneumaG4151,and are lifeζωήzōēG2222.

64But there aresomeτινεςtinesG5100of you whoG3739do not believeπιστεύουσιν.pisteuousinG4100.”For JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424knewG3609from the beginningἀρχῆςarchēsG746whoτίνεςtinesG5101they were who did not believeπιστεύοντεςpisteuontesG4100, andwhoτίςtisG5101it was whoG3739wouldbetrayπαραδώσωνparadōsōnG3860Him.

65And He was sayingἔλεγεν·elegenG3004,“For thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778reasonδιὰdiaG1223I havetoldG3004you that noG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762canδύναταιdunataiG1410comeἐλθεῖνeltheinG2064to Me unlessἐὰν μὴean mēG1437 G3361it has beenᾖēG1510grantedδεδομένονdedomenonG1325him from the FatherπατρόςpatrosG3962.”

66As a resultG1537of thisτούτουtoutouG3778manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183of HisdisciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101leftἀπῆλθον ὀπίσωapēlthon opisōG3694 G565,and would noG3765longerG3765walkπεριεπάτουν.¶periepatounG4043with Him.

67SoοὖνounG3767JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004tothe twelveδώδεκα·dōdekaG1427,“You do not wantθέλετεtheleteG2309to leaveὑπάγειν;hupageinG5217alsoκαὶkaiG2532, do you?”

68SimonΣίμωνSimōnG4613PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074answeredἀπεκρίθηapekrithēG611Him, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,to whomτίναtinaG5101shall we goἀπελευσόμεθα;apeleusomethaG565?You haveἔχεις,echeisG2192wordsῥήματαrhēmataG4487of eternalαἰωνίουaiōniouG166lifeζωῆςzōēsG2222.

69And we have alreadybelievedπεπιστεύκαμενpepisteukamenG4100and have come to knowἐγνώκαμενegnōkamenG1097that You arethe HolyἅγιοςhagiosG40OneG40of GodθεοῦtheouG2316.”

70JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424answeredἀπεκρίθηapekrithēG611them, “Did I MyselfἐγὼegōG1473not chooseἐξελεξάμην,exelexamēnG1586you,the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427? And yetoneεἷςheisG1520of you isa devilδιάβολόςdiabolosG1228.”

71NowδὲdeG1161He meantἔλεγενelegenG3004JudasἸούδανIoudanG2455the sonof SimonΣίμωνοςSimōnosG4613IscariotἸσκαριώτου·IskariōtouG2469; for he,oneεἷςheisG1520ofthe twelveδώδεκα.¶dōdekaG1427,wasG3195goingG3195toG3195betrayπαραδιδόναιparadidonaiG3860Him.
