2NowδὲdeG1161JudasἸούδαςIoudasG2455, who wasbetrayingπαραδιδοὺςparadidousG3860Him, alsoκαὶkaiG2532knewG3609the placeτόπον,toponG5117,becauseὅτιhotiG3754JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424hadoftenπολλάκιςpollakisG4178metσυνήχθηsunēchthēG4863thereἐκεῖekeiG1563with His disciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101.

3SoοὖνounG3767JudasἸούδαςIoudasG2455,having obtainedλαβὼνlabōnG2983the RomancohortσπεῖρανspeiranG4686andofficersὑπηρέταςhupēretasG5257from the chiefἀρχιερέωνarchiereōnG749priestsG749and the PhariseesΦαρισαίωνPharisaiōnG5330,cameἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064thereἐκεῖekeiG1563with lanternsφανῶνphanōnG5322,torchesλαμπάδωνlampadōnG2985,and weaponsὅπλων.¶hoplōnG3696.

4JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424thereforeοὖνounG3767,knowingG3609allG3956the thingsπάνταpantaG3956that were comingἐρχόμεναerchomenaG2064upon Him, cameG1831outG1831into the openand saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “WhomτίναtinaG5101are you seekingζητεῖτε;zēteiteG2212?”

5They answeredἀπεκρίθησανapekrithēsanG611Him, “JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424the NazareneΝαζωραῖον.NazōraionG3480.”He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,“I amεἰμι.eimiG1510He.”And JudasἸούδαςIoudasG2455alsoκαὶkaiG2532,who was betrayingπαραδιδοὺςparadidousG3860Him, was standingεἱστήκειheistēkeiG2476with them.

6NowG3767thenG3767,whenὡςhōsG5613He saidG3004to them,“I amεἰμι,eimiG1510He,”they drewἀπῆλθονapēlthonG565backὀπίσωopisōG3694and fellἔπεσανepesanG4098to the groundχαμαί.¶chamaiG5476.

7He thenοὖνounG3767askedἐπηρώτησενepērōtēsenG1905them againΠάλινPalinG3825, “WhomτίναtinaG5101are you seekingζητεῖτε;zēteiteG2212?”And they saidG3004, “JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424the NazareneΝαζωραῖον.NazōraionG3480.”

8JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424answeredἀπεκρίθηapekrithēG611,“I toldG3004you that I amεἰμι.eimiG1510He;soοὖνounG3767ifεἰeiG1487you are seekingζητεῖτε,zēteiteG2212Me, letἄφετεapheteG863theseτούτουςtoutousG3778mengoὑπάγειν·hupageinG5217onG5217their wayG5217.”

9This took placesoἵναinaG2443thatG2443the wordλόγοςlogosG3056whichὃνhonG3739He spokeG3004would be fulfilledπληρωθῇplērōthēaG4137: “Of those whomοὓςhousG3739You have givenδέδωκάςdedōkasG1325Me I lostἀπώλεσαapōlesaG622not oneοὐδένα.oudenaG3762.”

10ThenοὖνounG3767SimonΣίμωνSimōnG4613PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074,since he hadἔχωνechōnG2192a swordμάχαιρανmachairanG3162,drewεἵλκυσενeilkusenG1670it and struckἔπαισενepaisenG3817the highἀρχιερέωςarchiereōsG749priest’sG749slaveδοῦλονdoulonG1401,and cutἀπέκοψενapekopsenG609offG609his rightδεξιόν·dexionG1188earG5621;and the slave’sδούλῳdoulōG1401nameὄνομαonomaG3686was MalchusΜάλχος.¶MalchosG3124.

11SoοὖνounG3767JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to PeterΠέτρῳ·PetrōG4074,“PutβάλεbaleG906the swordμάχαιρανmachairanG3162into the sheathθήκην.thēkēnG2336;the cupποτήριονpotērionG4221whichὃhoG3739the FatherπατὴρpatērG3962has givenδέδωκένdedōkenG1325Me, am I not to drinkπίωpiōG4095it?”

12SoοὖνounG3767the RomancohortσπεῖραspeiraG4686, thecommanderχιλίαρχοςchiliarchosG5506, and theofficersὑπηρέταιhupēretaiG5257of the JewsἸουδαίωνIoudaiōnG2453arrestedσυνέλαβονsunelabonG4815JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424and boundἔδησανedēsanG1210Him,

13and broughtἤγαγονēgagonG71Him toAnnasἍννανHannanG452firstπρῶτον·prōtonG4413;for he was the father-in-lawπενθερὸςpentherosG3995ofCaiaphasΚαϊάφαKaiaphaG2533,whoὃςhosG3739was highG749priestἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749that yearἐνιαυτοῦeniautouG1763.
