The Flood Subsides

1But 1GodH430 rememberedH2142 NoahH5146 and allH3605 the animalsH2421 and allH3605 the livestockH929 that were with him in the arkH8392; and 2GodH430 caused a windH7307 to passH5674 overH5921 the earthH776, and the waterH4325 subsidedH7918. 2Also 3the fountainsH4599 of the deepH8415 and the 4floodgatesH699 of the skyH8064 wereH5534 closedH5534, and 5the rainH1653 from the skyH8064 was restrainedH3607; 3and the waterH4325 recededH7725 steadilyH1980 from the earthH776, and at the endH7097 6of 150H3967H2572 daysH3117 the waterH4325 decreasedH2637. 4Then in the seventhH7637 monthH2320, on the seventeenthH7651H6240 dayH3117 of the monthH2320, 7the arkH8392 restedH5117 upon the mountainsH2022 of AraratH780. 5And the waterH4325 decreasedH2637 steadilyH1980 untilH5704 the tenthH6224 monthH2320; in the tenthH6224 month, on the firstH259 day of the monthH2320, the topsH7218 of the mountainsH2022 becameH7200 visibleH7200.

6Then it cameH1961 aboutH1961 at the endH7093 of fortyH705 daysH3117, that NoahH5146 openedH6605 the 8windowH2474 of the arkH8392 whichH834 he had madeH6213; 7and he sentH7971 outH7971 a ravenH6158, and it 9flewH3318 hereH3318 and thereH7725 untilH5704 the waterH4325 was driedH3001 upH3001 10from the earthH776. 8Then he sentH7971 outH7971 a 11doveH3123, to seeH7200 if the waterH4325 wasH7043 lowH7043 on the 12surfaceH6440 of the landH127; 9but the doveH3123 foundH4672 noH3808 restingH4494 placeH4494 for the soleH3709 of its footH7272, so it returnedH7725 to him in the arkH8392, for the waterH4325 was on the 13surfaceH6440 of allH3605 the earthH776. Then he putH7971 outH7971 his handH3027 and tookH3947 it, and broughtH935 it into the arkH8392 to himself. 10So he waitedH3176 anotherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117 longerH5750; and againH3254 he sentH7971 outH7971 the doveH3123 from the arkH8392. 11And the doveH3123 cameH935 to him in 14the eveningH6153, and beholdH2009, in its 15beakH6310 was a freshH2965 oliveH2132 leafH5929. So NoahH5146 knewH3045 that the waterH4325 wasH7043 lowH7043 on the earthH776. 12Then he waitedH3176 anotherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117 longerH5750, and sentH7971 outH7971 16the doveH3123; but it did not returnH7725 to him againH3254.

13Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 in the 17sixH8337 hundredH3967 and firstH259 yearH8141, in the firstH7223 month, on the firstH259 of the monthH2320, that the waterH4325 was driedH2717 upH2717 18from the earthH776. Then NoahH5146 removedH5493 the coveringH4372 of the arkH8392, and lookedH7200, and beholdH2009, the 19surfaceH6440 of the groundH127 had driedH2717 upH2717. 14And in the secondH8145 monthH2320, on the twenty-seventhH6242H7651 dayH3117 of the monthH2320, the earthH776 wasH3001 dryH3001. 15Then GodH430 spokeH1696 to NoahH5146, sayingH559, 16“GoH3318 outH3318 of the arkH8392, you and your wifeH802 and your sonsH1121 and your sons’H1121 wivesH802 with you. 17BringH3318 outH3318 with you everyH3605 livingH2421 thingH2421 of allH3605 fleshH1320 that is with you, birdsH5775 and animalsH929 and everyH3605 crawlingH7431 thingH7431 that crawlsH7430 on the earthH776, that they may 2021breedH8317 abundantlyH8317 on the earthH776, and 22beH6509 fruitfulH6509 and multiplyH7235 on the earthH776.” 18So NoahH5146 wentH3318 outH3318, and his sonsH1121 and his wifeH802, and his sons’H1121 wivesH802 with him. 19EveryH3605 animalH2421, everyH3605 crawlingH7431 thingH7431, and everyH3605 birdH5775, everythingH3605 that movesH7430 on the earthH776, wentH3318 outH3318 23by their familiesH4940 from the arkH8392.

20Then NoahH5146 builtH1129 24an altarH4196 to the LordH3068, and tookH3947 someH4480 of everyH3605 kind of 25cleanH2889 animalH929 and someH4480 of everyH3605 cleanH2889 birdH5775 and offeredH5927 26burntH5930 offeringsH5930 on the altarH4196. 21The LordH3068 27smelledH7381 the soothingH5207 aromaH7381, and the LordH3068 saidH559 28to HimselfH3820, “I will neverH3808H5750 againH3254 29curseH7043 the groundH127 on accountH5668 of manH120, for 30the 31intentH3336 of man’sH120 heartH3820 is evilH7451 from his youthH5271; 32and I will neverH3808H5750 againH3254 33destroyH5221 everyH3605 livingH2416 thingH2416, as I have doneH6213.22WhileH5750 the earthH776 remainsH5750H3605H3117, SeedtimeH2233 and harvestH7105, ColdH7120 and heatH2527, 34SummerH7019 and winterH2779, And 35dayH3117 and nightH3915 Shall not ceaseH7673.”
