Numbers 21:2-9
Then IsraelH3478 vowedH5087 a vowH5088 to Jehovah, and saidH559, If thou giveH5414 this peopleH5971 wholly into my handH3027, then I will utterly destroyH2763 their citiesH5892.
And Jehovah listenedH8085 to the voiceH6963 of IsraelH3478, and delivered up the CanaanitesH3669; and they utterly destroyed them, and their citiesH5892. And they calledH7121 the nameH8034 of the placeH4725 HormahH2767.
And they journeyed from mount HorH2023 by the wayH1870 of the Red seaH3220, to goH5437 roundH5437 the landH776 of EdomH123; and the soulH5315 of the peopleH5971 became impatient on the wayH1870;
and the peopleH5971 spokeH1696 against 1GodH430, and against MosesH4872, WhyH4100 have ye broughtH5927 us up out of EgyptH4714 that we should dieH4191 in the wildernessH4057? for there is no breadH3899, and no waterH4325, and our soulH5315 loathes this light breadH3899.
Then Jehovah sentH7971 fiery serpents among the peopleH5971, which bit the peopleH5971; and muchH7227 peopleH5971 of IsraelH3478 diedH4191.
And the peopleH5971 cameH935 to MosesH4872 and saidH559, We have sinnedH2398, in that we have spokenH1696 against Jehovah, and against thee: prayH6419 to Jehovah that he take awayH5493 the serpents from us. And MosesH4872 prayedH6419 for the peopleH5971.
And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, MakeH7760 thee a fiery [serpent], and setH7760 it upon a pole; and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, and looketh upon it, shall live.
And MosesH4872 madeH6213 a serpent of brass, and putH7760 it upon a pole; and it came to pass, if a serpent had bitten any manH376, and he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
