4When MosesH4872 heardH8085 this, 10he fellH5307 on his faceH6440; 5and he spokeH1696 to KorahH7141 and allH3605 his companyH5712, sayingH559, “TomorrowH1242 morningH1242 the LordH3068 will showH3045 whoH834 is His, and 11who is holyH6918, and will bringH7126 him nearH7126 to Himself; even 12the one whomH834 He will chooseH977, He will bringH7126 nearH7126 to Himself. 6DoH6213 thisH2088: takeH3947 censersH4289 for yourselves, KorahH7141 and allH3605 13your companyH5712, 7and putH5414 fireH784 in them, and layH7760 incenseH7004 upon them in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 tomorrowH4279; and the manH376 whomH834 the LordH3068 choosesH977 shall be the oneH6918 whoH1931 is holyH6918. 1415You have gone farH7227 enoughH7227, you sonsH1121 of LeviH3878!”

8Then MosesH4872 saidH559 to KorahH7141, “HearH8085 nowH4994, you sonsH1121 of LeviH3878, 916is it 17not enoughH4592 for you that the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 has separatedH914 you from the rest of the congregationH5712 of IsraelH3478, 18to bringH7126 you nearH7126 to Himself, to doH5647 the serviceH5656 of the tabernacleH4908 of the LordH3068, and to standH5975 beforeH6440 the congregationH5712 to ministerH8334 to them; 10and that He has broughtH7126 you nearH7126, Korah, and allH3605 your brothersH251, sonsH1121 of LeviH3878, with you? And are you 19seekingH1245 for the priesthoodH3550 alsoH1571? 11ThereforeH3651 you and allH3605 your companyH5712 are gatheredH3259 together 20againstH5921 the LordH3068; but as for AaronH175, 21whoH4100 is he that 22you grumbleH3885 againstH5921 him?”

12Then MosesH4872 sentH7971 23a summonsH7121 to DathanH1885 and AbiramH48, the sonsH1121 of EliabH446; but they saidH559, “We will not comeH5927 up. 13Is it 24not enoughH4592 that you have broughtH5927 us up out of a 25landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706 26to have us dieH4191 in the wildernessH4057, but you would alsoH1571 lordH8323 it overH5921 us? 14IndeedH637, you have not broughtH935 us 27into a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706, norH3808 have you givenH5414 us an inheritanceH5159 of 28fieldsH7704 and vineyardsH3754. And 37the gloryH3519 of the LordH3068 appearedH7200 to allH3605 the congregationH5712.

20Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 and AaronH175, sayingH559, 21“38SeparateH914 yourselves from amongH8432 thisH2088 congregationH5712, 39that I may consumeH3615 them instantlyH7281.” 22But they fellH5307 on their facesH6440 and saidH559, “O GodH410, 40GodH430 of the spiritsH7307 of allH3605 fleshH1320, 41when oneH259 manH376 sinsH2398, will You be angryH7107 with the entireH3605 congregationH5712?”

23Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 24“SpeakH1696 to the congregationH5712, sayingH559, ‘42GetH5927 backH5927 from aroundH5439 the dwellingsH4908 of KorahH7141, DathanH1885 and AbiramH48.’”

25Then MosesH4872 aroseH6965 and wentH1980 to DathanH1885 and AbiramH48, with the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 followingH1980H310 him, 26and he spokeH1696 to the congregationH5712, sayingH559, “43DepartH5493 nowH4994 from the tentsH168 of theseH428 wickedH7563 menH376, and touchH5060 nothingH408H3605 that belongs to them, 44orH6435 you will be sweptH5595 awayH5595 in allH3605 their sinH2403.” 27So they gotH5927 backH5927 from aroundH5439 the dwellingsH4908 of KorahH7141, DathanH1885 and AbiramH48; and DathanH1885 and AbiramH48 cameH3318 out and stoodH5324 at the doorwayH6607 of their tentsH168, along with their wivesH802 and 45their sonsH1121 and their littleH2945 onesH2945. 28MosesH4872 saidH559, “By thisH2088 you shall knowH3045 that 46the LordH3068 has sentH7971 me to doH6213 allH3605 theseH428 deedsH4639; for this is not 47my doingH4480H3820. 29IfH518 theseH428 menH428 dieH4191 48the deathH4194 of allH3605 menH120 or 49if they sufferH6485 the 50fateH6486 of allH3605 menH120, then the LordH3068 has not sentH7971 me. 30But 51ifH518 the LordH3068 52bringsH1254 aboutH1254 an entirelyH1278 newH1278 thingH1278 and the groundH127 opensH6475 its mouthH6310 and swallowsH1104 them up with allH3605 that is theirsH1992, and they 53descendH3381 aliveH2416 into 54SheolH7585, then you will understandH3045 that theseH428 menH376 have spurnedH5006 the LordH3068.”

31As he finishedH3615 speakingH1696 allH3605 theseH428 wordsH1697, the groundH127 that was underH8478 them splitH1234 openH1234; 32and 55the earthH776 openedH6605 its mouthH6310 and swallowedH1104 them up, and their householdsH1004, and 56allH3605 the menH120 whoH834 belonged to KorahH7141 with their possessionsH7399. 33So they and allH3605 that belonged to them wentH3381 downH3381 aliveH2416 to 57SheolH7585; and the earthH776 closedH3680 overH5921 them, and they perishedH6 from the midstH8432 of the assemblyH6951. 34AllH3605 IsraelH3478 whoH834 were aroundH5439 them fledH5127 at their 58outcryH6963, for they saidH559, “The earthH776 may swallowH1104 us up!” 3559FireH784 also cameH3318 forthH3318 from the LordH3068 and consumedH398 the 60two hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 menH376 who were offeringH7126 the incenseH7004.

3661Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 37“SayH559 to EleazarH499, the sonH1121 of AaronH175 the priestH3548, that he shall takeH7311 up the censersH4289 out of the midstH996 of the 62blazeH8316, for they are holyH6942; and you scatterH2219 the 63burningH784 coalsH784 abroadH1973. 38As for the censersH4289 of theseH428 64menH2400H5315 whoH2400 have sinnedH2400 at the cost of their livesH5315, let them be madeH6213 into hammeredH7555 sheetsH6341 for a platingH6826 of the altarH4196, sinceH3588 they did presentH7126 them beforeH6440 the LordH3068 and they are holyH6942; and 65they shall be for a signH226 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.” 39So EleazarH499 the priestH3548 tookH3947 the bronzeH5178 censersH4289 whichH834 the men who were burnedH8313 had offeredH7126, and they hammeredH7554 them out as a platingH6826 for the altarH4196, 40as a 66reminderH2146 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 that 67noH3808 68laymanH2114 whoH834 is not of the 69descendantsH2233 of AaronH175 should comeH7126 nearH7126 70to burnH6999 incenseH7004 beforeH6440 the LordH3068; so that he will not becomeH1961 like KorahH7141 and his companyH5712--justH3512 as the LordH3068 had spokenH1696 to him 71throughH3027 MosesH4872.

Murmuring and Plague

41But on the nextH4283 dayH4283 allH3605 the congregationH5712 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 72grumbledH3885 againstH5921 MosesH4872 and AaronH175, sayingH559, “You are the ones who have causedH4191 the deathH4191 of the Lord’sH3068 peopleH5971.” 42It cameH1961 about, however, when the congregationH5712 had assembledH6950 againstH5921 MosesH4872 and AaronH175, that they turnedH6437 towardH413 the tentH168 of meetingH4150, and beholdH2009, the cloudH6051 coveredH3680 it and 73the gloryH3519 of the LordH3068 appearedH7200. 43Then MosesH4872 and AaronH175 cameH935 to the frontH6440 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, 44and the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 45“7475GetH7426 awayH7426 from amongH8432 thisH2088 congregationH5712, that I may consumeH3615 them instantlyH7281.” Then they fellH5307 on their facesH6440. 46MosesH4872 saidH559 to AaronH175, “TakeH3947 your censerH4289 and putH5414 in it fireH784 from the altarH4196, and layH7760 incenseH7004 on it; then bringH1980 it quicklyH4120 to the congregationH5712 and 76makeH3722 atonementH3722 for them, for 77wrathH7110 has goneH3318 forthH3318 from the LordH3068, the plagueH5063 has begunH2490!” 47Then AaronH175 tookH3947 it as MosesH4872 had spokenH1696, and ranH7323 into the midstH8432 of the assemblyH6951, for beholdH2009, the plagueH5063 had begunH2490 among the peopleH5971. 78So he putH5414 on the incenseH7004 and madeH3722 atonementH3722 for the peopleH5971. 48He tookH5975 his standH5975 betweenH996 the deadH4191 and the livingH2416, so that the plagueH4046 was checkedH6113. 4979But those who diedH4191 by the plagueH4046 were 14,700H702H6240H505H7651H3967, besidesH4480H905 those who 80diedH4191 on accountH5921H1697 of KorahH7141. 50Then AaronH175 returnedH7725 to MosesH4872 at the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, for the plagueH4046 had been checkedH6113.
