Leviticus 17:8-16

8And thou shalt sayH559 unto them, Every oneH376 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, and of the strangers who sojourn among them, that offereth up a burnt-offering or sacrificeH2077, 9and bringeth it not to the entranceH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, to offerH6213 it up to Jehovah — that manH376 shall be cutH3772 off from his peoplesH5971. 10And every oneH376 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of bloodH1818, — I will setH5414 my faceH6440 against the soulH5315 that hath eatenH398 bloodH1818, and will cutH3772 him off from among his peopleH5971; 11for the soulH5315 of the fleshH1320 is in the bloodH1818; and I have givenH5414 it to you upon the altarH4196 to makeH5414 atonementH3722 for your soulsH5315, for it is the bloodH1818 that maketh atonementH3722 for the soulH5315. 12ThereforeH3651 have I saidH559 unto the children of IsraelH3478, No soulH5315 of you shall eatH398 bloodH1818, neither shall the stranger who sojourneth among you eatH398 bloodH1818. 13And every oneH376 of the children of IsraelH3478, and of the strangers who sojourn among them, that catcheth in the huntH6679 a beast or fowl that may be eatenH398, he shall pourH8210 out the bloodH1818 thereof, and coverH3680 it with earthH6083; 14for as to the lifeH5315 of all fleshH1320, its bloodH1818 is the lifeH5315 in it; and I have saidH559 unto the children of IsraelH3478, Of the bloodH1818 of no manner of fleshH1320 shall ye eatH398, for the lifeH5315 of all fleshH1320 is its bloodH1818: whoever eateth it shall be cutH3772 off. 15And every soulH5315 that eateth of a dead carcase, or of that which was tornH2966, be it one home-born, or a stranger, he shall washH3526 his clothesH899, and batheH7364 in waterH4325, and be uncleanH2930 until the even: then he shall be cleanH2891. 16And if he washH3526 them not nor batheH7364 his fleshH1320, then he shall bearH5375 his iniquityH5771.
