Leviticus 17:8-16
TellH559 themH413 that if anyoneH376 fromH4480 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 or any foreignerH1616 livingH1481 among themH8432 offersH5927 a burnt offeringH5930 orH176 a sacrificeH2077 9but does notH3808 bringH935 it toH413 the entranceH6607 to the TentH168 of MeetingH4150 to sacrificeH6213 itH853 to the LORDH3068, thatH1931 manH376 must be cut offH3772 from his peopleH5971.
If anyoneH376 fromH4480 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 or a foreignerH1616 livingH1481 among themH8432 eatsH398 anyH3605 bloodH1818, I will setH5414 My faceH6440 against that personH5315 and cut him offH3772 from amongH7130 his peopleH5971. 11ForH3588 the lifeH53151 of the fleshH1320 is in the bloodH1818, and IH589 have givenH5414 itH1931 to you to make atonementH3722 forH5921 your soulsH5315 uponH5921 the altarH4196; forH3588 itH1931 is the bloodH1818 that makes atonementH3722 for the soulH5315. 12ThereforeH5921H3651 I sayH559 to the IsraelitesH1121H3478, ‘NoneH3605H5315H3808 of you may eatH398 bloodH1818, nor mayH3808 any foreignerH1616 livingH1481 among youH8432 eatH398 bloodH1818.’
And if anyH376 IsraeliteH1121H3478H4480 or foreignerH1616 livingH1481 among themH8432 hunts downH6679 a wildH2416 animalH6718 orH176 birdH5775 thatH834 may be eatenH398, he must drainH8210 its bloodH1818 and coverH3680 it with dirtH6083. 14ForH3588 the lifeH5315 of allH3605 fleshH1320 is its bloodH1818. Therefore I have toldH559 the IsraelitesH1121H3478, ‘You must notH3808 eatH398 the bloodH1818 of anyH3605 living thingH1320, becauseH3588 the lifeH5315 of allH3605 fleshH1320 is its bloodH1818; whoeverH1931H3605 eats itH398 must be cut offH3772.’
And anyH3605 personH5315, whether nativeH249 or foreignerH1616, whoH834 eatsH398 anything found deadH5038 or mauled by wild beastsH2966 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153; then he will be cleanH2891. 16But ifH518 he does notH3808 washH3526 his clothes and batheH7364 himselfH1320H3808, then he shall bearH5375 his iniquityH5771.”
