Leviticus 17:8-16
8“Then you shall sayH559 to them, ‘AnyH376 manH376 from the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, or from the aliensH1616 whoH834 sojournH1481 amongH8432 them, whoH834 offersH5927 a burntH5930 offeringH5930 orH176 sacrificeH2077, 9and 1does not bringH935 it to the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150 to 2offerH6213 it to the LordH3068, that manH376 also shall be cutH3772 offH3772 from his peopleH5971.
10‘3And anyH376 manH376 from the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, or from the aliensH1616 who sojournH1481 amongH8432 them, whoH834 eatsH398 anyH3605 bloodH1818, 4I will setH5414 My faceH6440 against that personH5315 who eatsH398 bloodH1818 and will cutH3772 him offH3772 from amongH7130 his peopleH5971. 11For 5the 6lifeH5315 of the fleshH1320 is in the bloodH1818, and I have givenH5414 it to you on the altarH4196 to makeH3722 atonementH3722 for your soulsH5315; for 7it is the bloodH1818 by reason of the 8lifeH5315 that makesH3722 atonementH3722.’ 12ThereforeH5921H3651 I saidH559 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, ‘NoH3605H3808 personH5315 amongH4480 you may eatH398 bloodH1818, norH3808 may any alienH1616 who sojournsH1481 amongH8432 you eatH398 bloodH1818.’ 13So when anyH376 manH376 from the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, or from the aliensH1616 who sojournH1481 amongH8432 them, 9in huntingH6718 catchesH6679 a beastH2421 orH176 a birdH5775 whichH834 may be eatenH398, 10he shall pourH8210 out its bloodH1818 and coverH3680 it with earthH6083.
14“11For as for the 12lifeH5315 of allH3605 fleshH1320, its bloodH1818 is identified with its 13lifeH5315. Therefore I saidH559 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, ‘You are not to eatH398 the bloodH1818 of anyH3605 fleshH1320, for the 14lifeH5315 of allH3605 fleshH1320 is its bloodH1818; whoeverH3605 eatsH398 it shall be cutH3772 offH3772.’ 1515When anyH3605 personH5315 eatsH398 an animal whichH5038 diesH5038 or is tornH2966 by beasts, whether he is a nativeH249 or an alienH1616, he shall washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 in waterH4325, and remainH2930 uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153; then he will becomeH2891 cleanH2891. 16But ifH518 he does not washH3526 them or batheH7364 his bodyH1320, then 16he shall bearH5375 his 17guiltH5771.”
