Matthew 17:9-21

9AsG2532 theyG846 were coming downG2597G1537 theG3588 mountainG3735, JesusG2424 commandedG1781 themG846, “Do not tell anyoneG2036G3367 about this visionG3705 untilG2193G3739 theG3588 SonG5207 of ManG444 has been raisedG1453 fromG1537 the deadG3498.”

TheG3588 disciplesG3101 askedG1905 HimG846, “WhyG5101 thenG3767 do theG3588 scribesG1122 sayG3004 thatG3754 ElijahG2243 mustG1163 comeG2064 firstG4412?”

Jesus repliedG611G2036, “ElijahG2243 does indeedG3303 comeG2064, andG2532 he will restoreG600 all thingsG3956. 12ButG1161 I tellG3004 youG4771 thatG3754 ElijahG2243 has alreadyG2235 comeG2064, andG2532 they did not recognizeG3756G1921 himG846, butG235 have doneG4160 toG1722 himG846 whateverG3745 they wishedG2309. In the same wayG3779G2532, theG3588 SonG5207 of ManG444 willG3195 sufferG3958 at their handsG5259G846.”

13ThenG5119 theG3588 disciplesG3101 understoodG4920 thatG3754 He was speakingG2036 to themG846 aboutG4012 JohnG2491 theG3588 BaptistG910.

14WhenG2532 they cameG2064 toG4314 theG3588 crowdG3793, a manG444 came upG4334 toG846 Jesus and knelt beforeG1120 HimG846. 15“LordG2962, have mercy onG1653 myG1473 sonG5207,” he saidG3004. “He has seizuresG4583 andG2532 is sufferingG3958 terriblyG2560. He often fallsG4178G4098 intoG1519 theG3588 fireG4442 or intoG1519 theG3588 waterG5204. 16I broughtG4374 himG846 toG3588 YourG4771 disciplesG3101, butG2532 they couldG1410 notG3756 healG2323 himG846.”

17“OG5599 unbelievingG571 andG2532 perverseG1294 generationG1074!” JesusG2424 repliedG611. “How longG2193G4219 must I remainG1510 withG3326 youG4771? How longG2193G4219 must I put up withG430 youG4771? BringG5342 the boy hereG5602 to MeG1473.” 18ThenG2532 JesusG2424 rebukedG2008 the demon, andG2532 it came outG1831 ofG575 the boy, andG2532 he was healedG2323 fromG575 thatG1565 momentG5610.

19AfterwardG5119 theG3588 disciplesG3101 cameG4334 to JesusG2424 privatelyG2596G2398 and askedG2036, “WhyG1223 couldn’tG5101G3756G1410 weG1473 drive it outG1544G846?”

20“BecauseG1223 youG4771 have so little faithG3640,” He answeredG3004G846. “ForG1063 trulyG281 I tellG3004 youG4771, ifG1437 you haveG2192 faithG4102 the size ofG5613 a mustardG4615 seedG2848, you can sayG2046 to thisG3778 mountainG3735, ‘MoveG3327 from hereG1759 to thereG1563,’ andG2532 it will moveG3327. NothingG3762 will be impossibleG101 for youG4771.”1
