Mark 14:53-65

53

They ledG520 Jesus awayG2424 toG4314 theG3588 high priestG749, andG2532 allG3956 theG3588 chief priestsG749, eldersG4245, andG2532 scribesG1122 assembledG4905. 54PeterG4074 followedG190 HimG846 atG575 a distanceG3113, rightG2193 intoG1519G2080 theG3588 courtyardG833 of theG3588 high priestG749. AndG2532 he satG1510G4775 withG3326 theG3588 officersG5257 andG2532 warmed himselfG2328 byG4314 theG3588 fireG5457.

55NowG1161 theG3588 chief priestsG749 andG2532 theG3588 wholeG3650 SanhedrinG48921 were seekingG2212 testimonyG3141 againstG2596 JesusG2424 toG1519 put Him to deathG2289G846, butG2532 they did not findG3756G2147 any. 56ForG1063 manyG4183 bore false witnessG5576 againstG2596 Jesus, butG2532 theirG3588 testimonyG3141 wasG1510 inconsistentG3756G2470.

57ThenG2532 someG5100 men stood upG450 and testified falselyG5576 againstG2596 HimG846: 58“WeG1473 heardG191 HimG846 sayG3004, ‘IG1473 will destroyG2647 thisG3778 man-madeG5499 templeG3485, andG2532 inG1223 threeG5140 daysG2250 I will buildG3618 anotherG243 that is made without handsG886.’” 59But evenG2532 theirG846 testimonyG3141 wasG1510 inconsistentG3761G2470.

60So theG3588 high priestG749 stood upG450 before themG1519G3319 and questionedG1905 JesusG2424, “Have You no answerG3756G611G3762? WhatG5101 are theseG3778 men testifying againstG2649 YouG4771?”

61ButG1161 Jesus remained silentG4623 andG2532 made no replyG3756G611G3762.

AgainG3825 theG3588 high priestG749 questionedG1905 HimG846, “AreG1510 YouG4771 theG3588 ChristG5547, theG3588 SonG5207 of theG3588 BlessedG2128 One?”

62“IG1473 amG1510,” saidG2036 JesusG2424, “andG2532 you will seeG3708 theG3588 SonG5207 of ManG444 sittingG2521 atG1537 the right handG1188 ofG3588 PowerG14112 andG2532 comingG2064 withG3326 theG3588 cloudsG3507 ofG3588 heavenG3772.”3

63At thisG1161, theG3588 high priestG749 toreG1284 hisG846 clothesG5509 and declaredG3004, “WhyG5101 do we needG5532G2192 any moreG2089 witnessesG3144? 64You have heardG191 theG3588 blasphemyG988. WhatG5101 is yourG4771 verdictG5316?”

AndG1161 they allG3956 condemnedG2632 HimG846 asG1510 deservingG1777 of deathG2288.

65ThenG2532 someG5100 of them beganG756 to spit onG1716 HimG846. They blindfolded HimG4028G846G3588G4383, struck Him with their fistsG2852G846, andG2532 saidG3004 to HimG846, “ProphesyG4395!” AndG2532 theG3588 officersG5257 receivedG2983 HimG846 with slaps in His faceG4475.
