Revised Version 1895
1And MosesH4872 wentH413 and spake theseH428 wordsH1697 unto allH3605 IsraelH3478. 2And he saidH559 unto them, I am an hundredH3967 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141 oldH1121 this dayH3117; I canH3201 noH3808 moreH5750 goH3318 outH3318 and comeH935 in: and the LORDH3068 hath saidH559 unto meH413, Thou shalt notH3808 goH3318 over this JordanH3383. 3The LORDH3068 thy GodH430, he will goH5674 over beforeH6440 thee; he will destroyH8045 theseH428 nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 thee, and thou shalt possessH3423 them: and JoshuaH3091, he shall goH5674 over beforeH6440 thee, as the LORDH3068 hath spokenH1696. 4And the LORDH3068 shall doH6213 unto them as he didH6213 to SihonH5511 and to OgH5747, the kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567, and unto their landH776; whomH834 he destroyedH8045. 5And the LORDH3068 shall deliverH5414 them upH5414 beforeH6440 youH834, and ye shall doH6213 unto them according unto allH3605 the commandmentH4687 whichH834 I have commandedH6680 youH834. 6Be strongH2388 and of a good courageH2388, fearH3372 notH3808, norH3808 be affrighted at them: for the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, he it is that doth goH1980 with thee; he will notH3808 failH7503 thee, norH3808 forsakeH5800 thee. 7And MosesH4872 calledH7121 unto JoshuaH3091, and saidH559 unto him in the sightH5869 of allH3605 IsraelH3478, Be strongH2388 and of a good courageH2388: for thou shalt goH935 with this peopleH5971 intoH413 the landH776 whichH834 the LORDH3068 hath swornH7650 unto their fathersH1 to giveH5414 them; and thou shalt causeH5414 them to inheritH5157 it. 8And the LORDH3068, he it is that doth goH1980 beforeH6440 thee; he will be with thee, he will notH3808 failH7503 thee, neitherH3808 forsakeH5800 thee: fearH3372 notH3808, neitherH3808 be dismayedH2865. 9And MosesH4872 wroteH3789 this lawH8451, and deliveredH5414 it unto the priestsH3548 the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878, which bare the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068, and unto allH3605 the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478. 10And MosesH4872 commandedH6680 them, sayingH559, At the endH7093 of everyH8141 sevenH7651 yearsH8141, in the setH6680 time of the yearH8141 of release, in the feastH2282 of tabernacles, 11when allH3605 IsraelH3478 is comeH935 to appearH7200 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 in the placeH4725 whichH834 he shall chooseH977, thou shalt readH7121 this lawH8451 beforeH6440 allH3605 IsraelH3478 in their hearingH241. 12AssembleH6950 the peopleH5971, the menH376 and the womenH802 and the littleH2945 onesH2945, and thy strangerH1616 that is within thy gatesH8179, that they may hearH8085, and that they may learnH3925, and fearH3372 the LORDH3068 your GodH430, and observeH8104 to doH6213 allH3605 the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451; 13and that their childrenH1121, whichH834 have notH3808 knownH3045, may hearH8085, and learnH3925 to fearH3372 the LORDH3068 your GodH430, as longH3117 as ye liveH2416 in the landH127 whither ye goH5674 over JordanH3383 to possessH3423 it. 14And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, BeholdH2005, thy daysH3117 approachH7126 that thou mustH4191 dieH4191: callH7121 JoshuaH3091, and presentH7126 yourselves in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, that I may giveH6680 him a chargeH6680. And MosesH4872 and JoshuaH3091 wentH413, and presentedH7126 themselvesH3320 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 15And the LORDH3068 appearedH7200 in the TentH168 in a pillarH5982 of cloudH6051: and the pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 stoodH5975 over the doorH6607 of the TentH168. 16And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, BeholdH2009, thou shalt sleepH7901 with thy fathersH1; and this peopleH5971 will riseH6965 upH6965, and goH935 a whoring afterH310 the strangeH5236 godsH430 of the landH776, whither they goH935 to be among them, and will forsakeH5800 meH413, and breakH6565 my covenantH1285 whichH834 I have madeH3772 with them. 17Then my angerH639 shall be kindledH2734 againstH5921 them in that dayH3117, and I will forsakeH5800 them, and I will hideH5641 my faceH6440 from them, and they shall be devouredH398, and manyH7227 evils and troubles shall comeH1961 uponH5921 them; soH1961 that they will sayH559 in that dayH3117, Are notH3808 theseH428 evils comeH1961 uponH5921 usH5921 becauseH3588 our GodH430 is notH3808 among usH5921? 18And I will surelyH3588 hideH5641 my faceH6440 in that dayH3117 for allH3605 the evilH7451 whichH834 they shall have wrought, in that they are turnedH6437 unto otherH312 godsH430. 19NowH6258 therefore writeH3789 ye this songH7892 for youH7760, and teachH3925 thou it the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: putH7760 it in their mouthsH6310, that this songH7892 may be a witnessH5707 for meH7760 against the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 20For when I shall have broughtH935 them intoH413 the landH127 whichH834 I sware unto their fathersH1, flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706; and they shall have eatenH398 and filledH7646 themselves, and waxen fatH1878; then will they turnH6437 unto otherH312 godsH430, and serveH5647 them, and despiseH5006 meH413, and breakH6565 my covenantH1285. 21And it shall comeH935 to passH935, when manyH7227 evils and troubles are comeH935 uponH935 them, that this songH7892 shall testifyH6030 beforeH6440 them as a witnessH5707; for it shall notH3808 be forgottenH7911 outH3045 of the mouthsH6310 of their seedH2233: for I knowH3045 their imagination whichH834 they goH935 aboutH1961, evenH3588 nowH1961, beforeH6440 I have broughtH935 them intoH413 the landH776 whichH834 I sware. 22SoH1931 MosesH4872 wroteH3789 this songH7892 the sameH1931 dayH3117, and taughtH3925 it the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 23And he gaveH6680 JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126 a chargeH6680, and saidH559, Be strongH2388 and of a good courageH2388: for thou shalt bringH935 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 intoH413 the landH776 whichH834 I sware unto them: and I will be with thee. 24And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when MosesH4872 had madeH1961 an endH3615 of writingH3789 the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 in a bookH5612, untilH5704 they were finishedH3615, 25that MosesH4872 commandedH6680 the LevitesH3881, which bare the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068, sayingH559, 26TakeH3947 this bookH5612 of the lawH8451, and putH7760 it by the sideH6654 of the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 your GodH430, that it may be there for a witnessH5707 against thee. 27For I knowH3045 thy rebellionH4805, and thy stiff neckH6203: beholdH2005, whileH5750 I am yet aliveH2416 with youH3588 this dayH3117, ye have been rebelliousH4805 againstH5973 the LORDH3068; and howH637 muchH637 moreH5750 afterH310 my deathH4194? 28AssembleH6950 unto meH413 allH3605 the eldersH2205 of your tribesH7626, and your officersH7860, that I may speakH1696 theseH428 wordsH1697 in their earsH241, and call heavenH8064 and earthH776 to witness againstH413 them. 29For I knowH3045 that afterH310 my deathH4194 ye will utterly corruptH7843 yourselves, and turnH5493 asideH5493 from the wayH1870 whichH834 I have commandedH6680 youH834; and evilH7451 will befallH7122 youH834 in the latterH319 daysH3117; becauseH3588 ye will doH6213 that whichH834 is evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, to provokeH3707 him to angerH3707 throughH3027 the workH4639 of your handsH3027. 30And MosesH4872 spake in the earsH241 of allH3605 the assemblyH6951 of IsraelH3478 the wordsH1697 of this songH7892, untilH5704 they were finishedH8552.
