1 Corinthians 7:24-40
24Brethren, let each manG3778, wherein he was calledG2564, therein abideG3306 with GodG2316.
25NowG1161 concerningG4012 virginsG3933 I have no commandmentG2003 of the LordG2962: but I giveG1325 my judgmentG1106, as oneG3588 that hath obtained mercyG1653 of the LordG2962 to beG1510 trustworthyG4103. 26I thinkG3543 thereforeG3767 that this isG1510 goodG2570 by reason of the distressG318 that isG1510 upon us, namely, that it isG1510 goodG2570 for a manG444 to beG1510 as he isG1510. 27Art thou boundG1210 unto a wifeG1135? seekG2212 not to be loosedG3089. Art thou loosedG3089 from a wifeG1135? seekG2212 not a wifeG1135. 28But shouldest thou marryG1060, thou hast not sinnedG264; and if a virginG3933 marryG1060, she hath not sinnedG264. Yet suchG5108 shall have tribulationG2347 in the fleshG4561: and I would spareG5339 you. 29But this I sayG5346, brethren, the timeG2540 isG1510 shortened, that henceforth both those that have wivesG1135 may beG1510 as though they had none; 30and those that weepG2799, as though they weptG2799 not; and those that rejoiceG5463, as though they rejoicedG5463 not; and those that buyG59, as though they possessed not; 31and those that useG5530 the worldG2889, as not using it to the full: for the fashion of this worldG2889 passeth awayG3855. 32But I would have you to beG1510 free from cares. He that isG1510 unmarriedG22 isG1510 careful for the things of the LordG2962, howG4459 he may pleaseG700 the LordG2962: 33but he that is marriedG1060 is careful for the things of the worldG2889, howG4459 he may pleaseG700 his wifeG1135, 34and isG1510 divided. SoG2443 alsoG2532 the womanG1135 that isG1510 unmarriedG22 and the virginG3933 isG1510 careful for the things of the LordG2962, that she may beG1510 holyG40 both in bodyG4983 and in spiritG4151: but she that isG1510 marriedG1060 isG1510 careful for the things of the worldG2889, howG4459 she may pleaseG700 her husbandG435. 35And this I sayG3004 for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is seemly, and that ye may attend upon the LordG2962 without distraction. 36But if any man thinketh that he behaveth himself unseemly toward his virginG3933 daughter, if she beG1510 past the flower of her age, and if need so requireth, let him do what he will; he sinneth not; let them marryG1060. 37But he that standeth stedfast in his heartG2588, having no necessityG318, but hath powerG1849 as touching his ownG2398 will, and hath determined this in his ownG2398 heartG2588, to keepG5083 his ownG2398 virginG3933 daughter, shall do wellG2573. 38So then both he that giveth his ownG1438 virginG3933 daughter in marriage doeth wellG2573; and he that giveth her not in marriage shall do better. 39A wifeG1135 isG1510 boundG1210 for so long timeG5550 as her husbandG435 liveth; but if the husbandG435 beG1510 dead, she isG1510 freeG1658 to beG1510 marriedG1060 to whom she will; onlyG3440 in the LordG2962. 40But she isG1510 happier if she abideG3306 as she isG1510, after my judgmentG1106: and I thinkG1380 that I alsoG1161 have the SpiritG4151 of GodG2316.
