Matthew 20:22-34

22But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424repliedἈποκριθεὶςApokritheisG611 G3004,“You do not knowG3609whatτίtiG5101you are askingαἰτεῖσθε.aiteistheG154.Are you ableδύνασθεdunastheG1410to drinkπιεῖνpieinG4095the cupποτήριονpotērionG4221that I amG3195aboutG3195toG3195drinkπίνεινpineinG4095?”They saidλέγουσινlegousinG3004to Him, “We are ableδυνάμεθα.¶dunamethaG1410.”

23He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “My cupποτήριόνpotērionG4221you shall drinkπίεσθεpiestheG4095;but to sitκαθίσαιkathisaiG2523at My rightδεξιῶνdexiōnG1188and at MyleftεὐωνύμωνeuōnumōnG2176is not MineG1699to giveδοῦναι,dounaiG1325, but it is for thosefor whomοἷςhoisG3739it has beenpreparedἡτοίμασταιhētoimastaiG2090by My FatherπατρόςpatrosG3962.”

24And after hearingἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191this, the othertenδέκαdekaG1176disciplesbecame indignantἠγανάκτησανēganaktēsanG23with the twoδύοduoG1417brothersἀδελφῶν.¶adelphōnG80.

25But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424calledπροσκαλεσάμενοςproskalesamenosG4341them to Himself and saidG3004,“You knowG3609that the rulersἄρχοντεςarchontesG758of the GentilesἐθνῶνethnōnG1484domineerG2634overG2634them, andthose in highG3173positionG3173exerciseκατεξουσιάζουσινkatexousiazousinG2715authorityG2715overG2715them.

26Itis not thisG3779wayG3779amongἐνenG1722you,but whoeverὃς ἐὰνhos eanG3739 G1437wantsθέλῃthelēG2309to becomeγενέσθαι,genesthaiG1096prominentμέγαςmegasG3173amongἐνenG1722you shall be your servantδιάκονος·diakonosG1249,

27and whoeverὃςhosG3739 G1437desiresθέλῃthelēG2309to be firstπρῶτος,prōtosG4413amongἐνenG1722you shall be your slaveδοῦλος·doulosG1401;

28justὥσπερhōsperG5618asthe SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444did not comeἦλθενēlthenG2064to be servedδιακονηθῆναιdiakonēthēnaiG1247,but to serveδιακονῆσαιdiakonēsaiG1247,and to giveδοῦναιdounaiG1325HislifeψυχὴνpsuchēnG5590as a ransomλύτρονlutronG3083for manyπολλῶν.¶pollōnG4183.”

29As they were leavingἐκπορευομένωνekporeuomenōnG1607JerichoἸεριχὼIerichōG2410,a largeπολύς.polusG4183crowdὄχλοςochlosG3793followedἠκολούθησενēkolouthēsenG190Him.

30And twoδύοduoG1417peopleG5185whoG5185wereG5185blindτυφλοὶtuphloiG5185,sittingκαθήμενοιkathēmenoiG2521by the roadὁδόν,hodonG3598,hearingἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191that JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424was passingπαράγει,parageiG3855by, criedG2896outG2896, “LordκύριεkurieG2962,haveG1653mercyἐλέησονeleēsonG1653on us,SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of DavidG1160!”

31But the crowdὄχλοςochlosG3793sternlyG2008warnedG2008them to be quietσιωπήσωσιν.siōpēsōsinG4623;yetG1161they criedG2896outG2896allG3173theG3173moreG3173, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of DavidG1160,haveG1653mercyἐλέησονeleēsonG1653on us!”

32And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424stoppedστὰςstasG2476and calledἐφώνησενephōnēsenG5455them, and saidG3004,“WhatτίtiG5101do you wantθέλετεtheleteG2309Me to doποιήσωpoiēsōG4160for you?”

33They saidλέγουσινlegousinG3004to Him, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962, we wantour eyesὀφθαλμοὶophthalmoiG3788to be openedἀνοιγῶσινanoigōsinG455.”

34MovedG4697withG4697compassionσπλαγχνισθεὶςsplagchnistheisG4697,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424touchedἥψατοhēpsatoG681their eyesὀμμάτωνommatōnG3659;and immediatelyεὐθέωςeutheōsG2112they regainedG308their sightἀνέβλεψανaneblepsanG308and followedἠκολούθησανēkolouthēsanG190Him.
