Matthew 20:22-34
22But JesusG2424 repliedG611G3004, “You do not knowG3609 whatG5101 you are askingG154. Are you ableG1410 1to drinkG4095 the cupG4221 that I amG3195 aboutG3195 toG3195 drinkG4095?” They saidG3004 to Him, “We are ableG1410.” 23He saidG3004 to them, “2My cupG4221 you shall drinkG4095; but to sitG2523 at My rightG1188 and at My leftG2176 is not MineG1699 to giveG1325, 3but it is for those for whomG3739 it has been 4preparedG2090 by My FatherG3962.”
24And after hearingG191 this, the other tenG1176 disciples became indignantG23 with the twoG1417 brothersG80. 255But JesusG2424 calledG4341 them to Himself and saidG3004, “You knowG3609 that the rulersG758 of the GentilesG1484 domineerG2634 overG2634 them, and 6those in highG3173 positionG3173 exerciseG2715 authorityG2715 overG2715 them. 26It 7is not thisG3779 wayG3779 amongG1722 you, 8but whoeverG3739G1437 wantsG2309 to becomeG1096 9prominentG3173 amongG1722 you shall be your servantG1249, 27and whoeverG3739G1437 desiresG2309 to be firstG4413 amongG1722 you shall be your slaveG1401; 28justG5618 as 10the SonG5207 of ManG444 11did not comeG2064 to be servedG1247, but to serveG1247, and to giveG1325 His 12lifeG5590 as a ransomG3083 for manyG4183.”
2913As they were leavingG1607 JerichoG2410, a largeG4183 crowdG3793 followedG190 Him. 30And twoG1417 peopleG5185 whoG5185 wereG5185 blindG5185, sittingG2521 by the roadG3598, hearingG191 that JesusG2424 was passingG3855 by, criedG2896 outG2896, “LordG2962, 14haveG1653 mercyG1653 on us, 15SonG5207 of DavidG1160!” 31But the crowdG3793 sternlyG2008 warnedG2008 them to be quietG4623; yetG1161 they criedG2896 outG2896 allG3173 theG3173 moreG3173, “LordG2962, 16SonG5207 of DavidG1160, haveG1653 mercyG1653 on us!” 32And JesusG2424 stoppedG2476 and calledG5455 them, and saidG3004, “WhatG5101 do you wantG2309 Me to doG4160 for you?” 33They saidG3004 to Him, “LordG2962, we want our eyesG3788 to be openedG455.” 34MovedG4697 withG4697 compassionG4697, JesusG2424 touchedG681 their eyesG3659; and immediatelyG2112 they regainedG308 their sightG308 and followedG190 Him.
