Mark 9:33-50

33They cameἦλθονēlthonG2064to CapernaumG2746; and when He was inthe houseοἰκίᾳoikiaG3614, He beganto questionἐπηρώταepērōtaG1905them:“WhatτίtiG5101were you discussingδιελογίζεσθε;dielogizestheG1260on the wayὁδῷhodōG3598?”

34But they keptG4623silentἐσιώπων·esiōpōnG4623,for on the wayὁδῷhodōG3598they had discussedδιελέχθησανdielechthēsanG1256with oneἀλλήλουςallēlousG240anotherG240whichτίςtisG5101of them wasthe greatestμείζων.¶meizōnG3173.

35And sittingG2523downκαθίσαςkathisasG2523,He calledἐφώνησενephōnēsenG5455the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427and saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “IfεἴeiG1487anyoneτιςtisG5100wantsθέλειtheleiG2309to be firstπρῶτοςprōtosG4413,he shall be lastἔσχατοςeschatosG2078of allπάντωνpantōnG3956and servantδιάκονος.diakonosG1249of allπάντωνpantōnG3956.”

36And He tookλαβὼνlabōnG2983a childπαιδίονpaidionG3813and placedἔστησενestēsenG2476him amongἐν μέσῳen mesōG1722 G3319them, and takingG1723him inG1723His armsG1723,He saidG3004to them,

37“Whoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302receivesδέξηταιdexētaiG1209oneἓνhenG1520childπαιδίωνpaidiōnG3813likeG5108thisG5108in My nameὀνόματίonomatiG3686receivesδέχεται·dechetaiG1209Me; and whoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302receivesδέχηται,dechētaiG1209Me does notreceiveδέχεταιdechetaiG1209Me, but Him who sentἀποστείλαντάaposteilantaG649Me.”

38JohnἸωάννης·IōannēsG2491saidἜφηEphēG5346to Him, “Teacherδιδάσκαλε,didaskaleG1320,we sawG3708someoneτιναtinaG5100castingἐκβάλλονταekballontaG1544outG1544demonsδαιμόνιαdaimoniaG1140in Your nameὀνόματίonomatiG3686, andwe tried to preventἐκωλύομενekōluomenG2967him becauseὅτιhotiG3754he was not followingἠκολούθειēkoloutheiG190us.”

39But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004,“Do not hinderκωλύετεkōlueteG2967him, for there is noG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762whoὃςhosG3739will performποιήσειpoiēseiG4160a miracleδύναμινdunaminG1411in My nameὀνόματίonomatiG3686,and be ableδυνήσεταιdunēsetaiG1410soonταχὺtachuG5035afterwardto speakG2551evilκακολογῆσαίkakologēsaiG2551ofG2551Me.

40For the one whoὃςhosG3739is not againstκαθ᾽kath᾽G2596us is for us.

41Forwhoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302givesποτίσῃpotisēG4222you a cupποτήριονpotērionG4221of waterὕδατοςhudatosG5204toG4222drinkG4222becauseG3754of your nameὀνόματιonomatiG3686as followersof ChristΧριστοῦChristouG5547,trulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you, he shall by noG3364meansG3364loseἀπολέσῃapolesēG622his rewardμισθὸνmisthonG3408.

42“WhoeverὃςhosG3739causesσκανδαλίσῃskandalisēG4624oneἕναhenaG1520of theseτούτωνtoutōnG3778littleμικρῶνmikrōnG3398onesG3398who believeπιστευόντωνpisteuontōnG4100in Me toG4624sinG4624,it is betterκαλόν μᾶλλονkalon mallonG2570 G3123for him ifεἰeiG1487a heavyὀνικὸςonikosG3684millstoneμύλοςmulosG3458is hungπερίκειταιperikeitaiG4029aroundπερὶperiG4012his neckτράχηλονtrachēlonG5137and heis thrownβέβληταιbeblētaiG906into the seaθάλασσαν.thalassanG2281.

48whereὅπουhopouG3699their wormσκώληξskōlēxG4663does not dieτελευτᾷteleutaG5053, andthe fireπῦρpurG4442is not extinguishedσβέννυται.sbennutaiG4570.

49For everyoneπᾶςpasG3956will be saltedἁλισθήσεταιhalisthēsetaiG233with fireπυρὶpuriG4442.
