4But there were someτινεςtinesG5100indignantlyἀγανακτοῦντεςaganaktountesG23remarkingto oneG1438anotherG1438, “Whyεἰς τίeis tiG1519 G5101has thisαὕτηhautēG3778perfumeμύρουmurouG3464beenγέγονεν;gegonenG1096wastedἀπώλειαapōleiaG684?

5For thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778perfumeμύρονmuronG3464couldἠδύνατοēdunatoG1410have been soldπραθῆναιprathēnaiG4097for overἐπάνωepanōG1883threeτριακοσίωνtriakosiōnG5145hundredG5145denariiδηναρίωνdēnariōnG1220, and the moneygivenδοθῆναιdothēnaiG1325to the poorπτωχοῖς·ptōchoisG4434.”And they were scoldingἐνεβριμῶντοenebrimōntoG1690her.

6But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004,“LeaveἄφετεapheteG863her aloneG863!WhyτίtiG5101are you botheringκόπους παρέχετε;kopous parecheteG2873 G3930her? She has doneἠργάσατοērgasatoG2038a goodκαλὸνkalonG2570deedἔργονergonG2041for Me.

7For you alwaysπάντοτεpantoteG3842haveἔχετεecheteG2192the poorπτωχοὺςptōchousG4434with you, and wheneverὅτανhotanG3752you wantθέλητεthelēteG2309,you canδύνασθεdunastheG1410doποιῆσαι,poiēsaiG4160goodεὖeuG2095to them; but you do not alwaysπάντοτεpantoteG3842haveἔχετε.echeteG2192Me.

8She has doneἐποίησεν,epoiēsenG4160whatὃhoG3739she couldἔσχενeschenG2192;she has anointedμυρίσαιmurisaiG3462My bodyσῶμάsōmaG4983beforehandπροέλαβενproelabenG4301for the burialἐνταφιασμόν.entaphiasmonG1780.

9TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you,whereverὅπου ἐὰνhopou eanG3699 G1437the gospelεὐαγγέλιονeuangelionG2098is preachedκηρυχθῇkēruchthēaG2784in the entireὅλονholonG3650worldκόσμον,kosmonG2889,whatG3588thisG3778womanG3778has doneἐποίησενepoiēsenG4160will alsoκαὶkaiG2532be toldλαληθήσεταιlalēthēsetaiG2980in memoryμνημόσυνονmnēmosunonG3422of her.”

11They were delightedἐχάρησανecharēsanG5463when they heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191this,and promisedἐπηγγείλαντοepēngeilantoG1861to giveδοῦναι·dounaiG1325him moneyἀργύριονargurionG694. And he beganseekingἐζήτειezēteiG2212howπῶςpōsG4459to betrayπαραδοῖ.¶paradoiG3860Him at an opportuneG2122timeG2122.
