4I persecutedἐδίωξαediōxaG1377thisταύτηνtautēnG3778WayὁδὸνhodonG3598to the deathθανάτουthanatouG2288,bindingδεσμεύωνdesmeuōnG1195and puttingπαραδιδοὺςparadidousG3860bothτεteG5037menἄνδραςandrasG435and womenγυναῖκας,gunaikasG1135into prisonsφυλακὰςphulakasG5438,

5as alsoG2532the highἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749priestG749and allπᾶνpanG3956the CouncilG4244ofG4244the eldersG4244can testifyμαρτυρεῖmartureiG3140.From them I alsoG2532receivedδεξάμενοςdexamenosG1209lettersἐπιστολὰςepistolasG1992tothe brothersἀδελφοὺςadelphousG80,and startedἐπορευόμην,eporeuomēnG4198off forDamascusΔαμασκὸνDamaskonG1154in order to bringἄξωνaxōnG71evenG2532thoseG3588who were thereἐκεῖσεekeiseG1566to JerusalemἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmG2419as prisonersδεδεμένουςdedemenousG1210to be punishedτιμωρηθῶσιν.timōrēthōsinG5097.

6“But it happenedἐγένετοegenetoG1096that as I wasG4198onG4198my wayG4198,approachingἐγγίζοντιengizontiG1448DamascusΔαμασκῷDamaskōG1154at aboutG4012noonμεσημβρίανmesēmbrianG3314,a veryG2425brightG2425lightφῶςphōsG5457suddenlyἐξαίφνηςexaiphnēsG1810flashedG4015from heavenοὐρανοῦouranouG3772allG4015aroundG4015me,

7and I fellἔπεσάepesaG4098to the groundἔδαφοςedaphosG1475and heardἤκουσαēkousaG191a voiceφωνῆςphōnēsG5456sayingλεγούσηςlegousēsG3004to me,‘SaulΣαοὺλSaoulG4549,SaulΣαούλ,SaoulG4549,whyτίtiG5101are you persecutingδιώκεις;diōkeisG1377Me?’

8And I answeredἀπεκρίθην·apekrithēnG611, ‘WhoτίςtisG5101are You, Lordκύριε;kurieG2962?’And He saidG3004to me,‘I amG1510JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424the NazareneΝαζωραῖοςNazōraiosG3480,whomὃνhonG3739you are persecutingδιώκεις.diōkeisG1377.’

9And thoseG3588whoG5101were with mesawἐθεάσαντοetheasantoG2300the lightφῶςphōsG5457, but did notunderstandἤκουσανēkousanG191the voiceφωνὴνphōnēnG5456of the One who was speakingλαλοῦντόςlalountosG2980to me.

10And I saidG3004, ‘WhatτίtiG5101shall I doποιήσωpoiēsōG4160,Lordκύριε;kurieG2962?’And the LordκύριοςkuriosG2962saidG3004to me,‘GetG450upG450and goπορεύουporeuouG4198onG4198into DamascusΔαμασκόν,DamaskonG1154,and thereG2546you will be toldλαληθήσεταιlalēthēsetaiG2980aboutπερὶperiG4012everythingπάντωνpantōnG3956that has been appointedτέτακταίtetaktaiG5021for you to doποιῆσαι.poiēsaiG4160.’

11But sinceὡςhōsG5613Icould not seeἐνέβλεπονenebleponG1689becauseἀπὸapoG575of thebrightnessδόξηςdoxēsG1391of that lightφωτὸςphōtosG5457,I cameἦλθονēlthonG2064into DamascusΔαμασκόν.¶DamaskonG1154being ledG5496byG5496theG5496handχειραγωγούμενοςcheiragōgoumenosG5496by thoseG3588who were with me.

12“NowδέdeG1161a certainτις,tisG5100AnaniasἉνανίαςHananiasG367,a manἀνὴρanērG435who was devoutεὐλαβὴςeulabēsG2126by the standardG3358of the Lawνόμον,nomonG3551andwellG3140spokenG3140of by allπάντωνpantōnG3956the JewsἸουδαίων,IoudaiōnG2453who livedκατοικούντωνkatoikountōnG2730there,

13cameἐλθὼνelthōnG2064to me, and standingG2186nearbyG2186he saidG3004to me, ‘Brotherἀδελφέ,adelpheG80SaulΣαοὺλSaoulG4549,receiveἀνάβλεψον.anablepsonG308your sightG308!’ Andat that veryG846momentὥρᾳhōraG5610I lookedἀνέβλεψαaneblepsaG308upG308at him.

14And he saidG3004, ‘The GodθεὸςtheosG2316of our fathersπατέρωνpaterōnG3962hasappointedπροεχειρίσατόproecheirisatoG4400you to knowγνῶναιgnōnaiG1097His willθέλημαthelēmaG2307and toseeG3708theRighteousδίκαιονdikaionG1342OneG1342and to hearἀκοῦσαιakousaiG191amessageφωνὴνphōnēnG5456from His mouthστόματοςstomatosG4750.

15For you will bea witnessμάρτυςmartusG3144for Him to allπάνταςpantasG3956peopleἀνθρώπουςanthrōpousG444ofwhatὧνhōnG3739you have seenἑώρακαςhe'ōrakasG3708and heardἤκουσας.ēkousasG191.
