Numbers 20:12-24

12And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175, Because ye believedH539 me not, to hallow me before the eyesH5869 of the children of IsraelH3478, thereforeH3651 ye shall not bringH935 this congregation into the landH776 that I have givenH5414 them.

13These are the watersH4325 of MeribahH4809, whereH834 the children of IsraelH3478 contendedH7378 with Jehovah, and he hallowed himself in them.

14And MosesH4872 sentH7971 messengersH4397 from KadeshH6946 to the kingH4428 of EdomH123, ThusH3541 saysH559 thy brotherH251 IsraelH3478: Thou knowest all the trouble that hath befallen us,

15how our fathersH1 wentH3381 downH3381 to EgyptH4714, and we dweltH3427 in EgyptH4714 a long time, and the Egyptians evilH7489 entreated us and our fathersH1;

16and when we criedH6817 to Jehovah, he heardH8085 our voiceH6963, and sentH7971 an angelH4397, and broughtH3318 us forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714; and behold, we are at KadeshH6946, a cityH5892 at the extremity of thy borderH1366.

17Let us passH5674, I pray thee, through thy country; we will not passH5674 through fieldsH7704, or through vineyardsH3754, neither will we drinkH8354 waterH4325 out of the wellsH875: we will go by the king's roadH1870; we will not turnH5186 to the rightH3225 handH3225 nor to the left, until we have passedH5674 thy borderH1366.

18But EdomH123 saidH559 to him, Thou shalt not passH5674 by me, lestH6435 I comeH3318 out against thee with the swordH2719.

19And the children of IsraelH3478 saidH559 to him, We will goH5927 by the high way; and if we drinkH8354 of thy waterH4325, I and my cattle, then I will pay for it: I will onlyH7535, without anythingH1697 else, goH5927 through on my feetH7272.

20And he saidH559, Thou shalt not goH3318 through. And EdomH123 cameH3318 out against him with much peopleH5971, and with a strongH2389 handH3027.

21Thus EdomH123 refusedH3985 to giveH5414 IsraelH3478 passage through his territoryH1366; and IsraelH3478 turnedH5186 away from him.

22And they removed from KadeshH6946; and the children of IsraelH3478, the whole assemblyH5712, cameH935 to mount HorH2023.

23And Jehovah spoke to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175 in mount HorH2023, on the borderH1366 of the landH776 of EdomH123, sayingH559,

24AaronH175 shall be gatheredH622 unto his peoplesH5971; for he shall not enter into the landH776 that I have givenH5414 unto the children of IsraelH3478, because ye rebelledH4784 against my commandment at the watersH4325 of MeribahH4809.
