Luke 14:8-14

WhenG3752 thou art invited by any oneG5100 to a weddingG1062, do not lay thyself down in the first placeG4411 at table, lestG3361 perhaps a more honourable than thou beG1510 invited by him,

and he who invited thee and him comeG2064 and sayG3004 to thee, GiveG1325 placeG5117 to this [manG3778], and then thou beginG757 with shameG152 to take the lastG2078 placeG5117.

But whenG3752 thou hast beenG1510 invited, goG4198 and put thyself downG377 in the lastG2078 placeG5117, that whenG3752 he who has invited thee comesG2064, he may sayG3004 to thee, FriendG5384, goG4198 up higher: thenG5119 shalt thou have honour before all that areG1510 lying at table with thee;

for every one that exaltsG5312 himself shall be abased, and he that abases himself shall be exaltedG5312.

And he saidG3004 alsoG2532 to him that had invited him, WhenG3752 thou makest a dinner or a supperG1173, callG2564 not thy friendsG5384, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsfolk, nor richG4145 neighbours, lestG3361 it may be they alsoG2532 should invite thee in return, and a recompense be madeG4160 thee.

But whenG3752 thou makest a feast, callG2564 poorG4434, crippled, lameG5560, blindG5185:

and thou shalt beG1510 blessed; for they have not [the means] to recompense thee; for it shall beG1510 recompensed thee in the resurrectionG386 of the justG1342.
