Exodus 7
Darby Bible
1And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, SeeH7200, I have madeH5414 thee 1GodH430 to PharaohH6547; and AaronH175 thy brotherH251 shall beH1961 thy prophetH5030. 2Thou shalt speakH1696 all that I commandH6680 thee; and AaronH175 thy brotherH251 shall speakH1696 unto PharaohH6547, that he let the children of IsraelH3478 goH7971 out of his landH776. 3And I will render Pharaoh's heartH3820 obdurate, and multiplyH7235 my signsH226 and my wondersH4159 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 4And PharaohH6547 will not hearken unto you; and I will lay my handH3027 upon EgyptH4714, and bringH3318 forthH3318 my hostsH6635, my peopleH5971, the children of IsraelH3478, out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 by greatH1419 judgmentsH8201. 5And the Egyptians shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah, when I stretchH5186 forthH3318 my handH3027 on EgyptH4714, and bringH3318 out the children of IsraelH3478 from among them. 6And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 did as Jehovah had commandedH6680 them: soH3651 did they. 7And MosesH4872 was eightyH8084 yearsH8141 old, and AaronH175 was eighty-threeH8084 yearsH8141 old, when they spokeH1696 to PharaohH6547. 8And Jehovah spoke to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175, sayingH559, 9When PharaohH6547 shall speakH1696 to you, sayingH559, Do a miracle for yourselves, — then thou shalt sayH559 unto AaronH175, TakeH3947 thy staffH4294 and castH7993 [it] before PharaohH6547 — it will becomeH1961 a serpentH8577. 10And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 wentH935 in to PharaohH6547, and did soH3651, as Jehovah had commandedH6680; and AaronH175 castH7993 downH7993 his staffH4294 before PharaohH6547, and before his bondmen, and it becameH1961 a serpentH8577. 11And PharaohH6547 alsoH1571 calledH7121 the sages and the sorcerersH3784; and they too, the scribes of EgyptH4714, did soH3651 with their enchantments: 12they castH7993 down every manH376 his staffH4294, and they becameH1961 serpentsH8577; but Aaron's staffH4294 swallowedH1104 up their staves. 13And Pharaoh's heartH3820 was stubborn, and he hearkened not to them, as Jehovah had saidH1696. 14And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, Pharaoh's heartH3820 is hardened: he refuseth to let the peopleH5971 goH7971. 15GoH3318 unto PharaohH6547 in the morningH1242 — behold, he will goH3318 out unto the waterH4325 — and takeH3947 thy standH5324 by the bankH8193 of the riverH2975 in front of him; and takeH3947 in thy handH3027 the staffH4294 that was turnedH2015 into a serpent. 16And sayH559 unto him, Jehovah the 2GodH430 of the HebrewsH5680 has sentH7971 me to thee, sayingH559, Let my peopleH5971 goH7971, that they may serveH5647 me in the wildernessH4057; but behold, hitherto thou hast not hearkened. 17ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: In this shalt thou knowH3045 that I am Jehovah — behold, I will smite with the staffH4294 that is in my handH3027 upon the waterH4325 which is in the riverH2975, and it shall be turnedH2015 into bloodH1818. 18And the fishH1710 that is in the riverH2975 shall dieH4191; and the riverH2975 shall stinkH887; and the EgyptiansH4713 shall loathe to drinkH8354 the waterH4325 out of the riverH2975. 19And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, SayH559 unto AaronH175, TakeH3947 thy staffH4294, and stretchH5186 out thy handH3027 upon the watersH4325 of the Egyptians — upon their streams, upon their riversH5104, and upon their pondsH98, and upon all their reservoirs of waterH4325, that they may becomeH1961 bloodH1818; and there shall beH1961 bloodH1818 throughout the landH776 of EgyptH4714, both in [vessels of] woodH6086 and in [vessels of] stoneH68. 20And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 did soH3651, as Jehovah had commandedH6680; and he liftedH7311 up the staffH4294, and smote the watersH4325 that were in the riverH2975 before the eyesH5869 of PharaohH6547, and before the eyesH5869 of his bondmen; and all the watersH4325 that were in the riverH2975 were turnedH2015 into bloodH1818. 21And the fishH1710 that wasH1961 in the riverH2975 diedH4191; and the riverH2975 stankH887, and the Egyptians could not drinkH8354 the waterH4325 of the riverH2975; and the bloodH1818 wasH1961 throughout the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 22And the scribes of EgyptH4714 did soH3651 with their sorceries; and Pharaoh's heartH3820 was stubborn, neither did he hearken to them, as Jehovah had saidH1696. 23And PharaohH6547 turnedH6437 and wentH935 into his houseH1004, and took not this to heartH3820 either. 24And all the EgyptiansH4713 dug roundH5439 about the riverH2975 for waterH4325 to drinkH8354; for they could not drinkH8354 of the waterH4325 of the riverH2975. 25And sevenH7651 daysH3117 were fulfilled, after Jehovah had smitten the riverH2975.
