Exodus 10
Darby Bible
1And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, GoH935 in unto PharaohH6547; for I have hardened his heartH3820, and the heartH3820 of his bondmen, that I might do these my signsH226 in their midstH7130, 2and that thou mightest tell in the earsH241 of thy sonH1121 and thy son's sonH1121 what I have wrought in EgyptH4714, and my signsH226 which I have done among them; and ye shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah. 3And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 cameH935 to PharaohH6547, and saidH559 to him, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah the 1GodH430 of the HebrewsH5680: How long dost thou refuseH3985 to humble thyself before me? let my peopleH5971 goH935, that they may serveH5647 me. 4For, if thou refuse to let my peopleH5971 goH935, behold, I will to-morrow bringH935 locustsH697 into thy bordersH1366; 5and they shall coverH3680 the face of the landH776, so that ye will not be ableH3201 to seeH7200 the landH776; and they shall eatH398 the residue of that which is escapedH6413, which ye have remainingH7604 from the hailH1259, and shall eatH398 every treeH6086 which ye have growingH6779 in the fieldH7704; 6and they shall fillH4390 thy housesH1004, and the housesH1004 of all thy bondmen, and the housesH1004 of all the EgyptiansH4713; which neither thy fathersH1 nor thy fathers' fathersH1 have seenH7200, since the dayH3117 that they were upon the earthH127 unto this dayH3117. And he turnedH6437 and wentH3318 out from PharaohH6547. 7And Pharaoh's bondmen saidH559 to him, How long shall this manH376 beH1961 a snareH4170 to us? let the menH376 goH7971, that they may serveH5647 Jehovah their 2GodH430: dost thou not yet knowH3045 that EgyptH4714 is ruined? 8And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 were broughtH7725 again to PharaohH6547. And he saidH559 to them, GoH1980, serveH5647 Jehovah your 3GodH430. Who are they that shall goH1980? 9And MosesH4872 saidH559, We will go with our youngH5288 and with our old, with our sonsH1121 and with our daughtersH1323; with our flocksH6629 and with our herdsH1241 will we go; for we have a feastH2282 of Jehovah. 10And he saidH559 to them, Let Jehovah beH1961 soH3651 with you, as I let you goH7971, and your littleH2945 onesH2945: seeH7200 that evilH7451 is before you! 11Not soH3651: go now, ye [that are] menH1397, and serveH5647 Jehovah! for it is that ye have desired. And they were drivenH1644 out from Pharaoh's presenceH6440. 12And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, StretchH5186 out thy handH3027 over the landH776 of EgyptH4714 for the locustsH697, that they may comeH5927 up over the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and eatH398 every herb of the landH776 — all that the hailH1259 hath leftH7604. 13And MosesH4872 stretchedH5186 out his staffH4294 over the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and Jehovah brought an eastH6921 windH7307 on the landH776 all that dayH3117 and all that nightH3915. When it wasH1961 morningH1242, the eastH6921 windH7307 brought the locustsH697. 14And the locustsH697 wentH5927 up over all the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and restedH5117 in all the bordersH1366 of EgyptH4714, veryH3966 grievous; before them there wereH1961 no such locustsH697 as they, neither after them will beH1961 such. 15And they coveredH3680 the face of the whole landH776, so that the landH776 was darkened; and they ateH398 every herb of the landH776, and all the fruitH6529 of the treesH6086 that the hailH1259 had leftH3498; and there remainedH3498 not any green thing on the treesH6086, and in the herbs of the fieldH7704, throughout the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 16And PharaohH6547 calledH7121 MosesH4872 and AaronH175 in hasteH4116; and he saidH559, I have sinnedH2398 against Jehovah your 4GodH430, and against you. 17And nowH6258, forgiveH5375, I pray you, my sinH2403 onlyH389 this timeH6471, and intreat Jehovah your 5GodH430 that he may takeH5375 awayH5493 from me this deathH4194 onlyH389! 18And he wentH3318 out from PharaohH6547, and intreated Jehovah. 19And Jehovah turnedH2015 a veryH3966 powerful westH3220 windH7307, which tookH5375 awayH5375 the locustsH697, and drove them into the Red SeaH3220: there remainedH7604 not oneH259 locustH697 in all the bordersH1366 of EgyptH4714. 20And Jehovah madeH2388 Pharaoh's heartH3820 stubborn, and he did not let the children of IsraelH3478 goH7971. 21And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, StretchH5186 out thy handH3027 toward the heavensH8064, that there may beH1961 darknessH2822 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 — so that one may feelH4959 darknessH2822. 22And MosesH4872 stretchedH5186 out his handH3027 toward the heavensH8064; and there wasH1961 a thick darknessH2822 throughout the landH776 of EgyptH4714 threeH7969 daysH3117: 23they sawH7200 not oneH376 another, neither roseH6965 any from his placeH8478, for threeH7969 daysH3117. But all the children of IsraelH3478 had lightH216 in their dwellingsH4186. 24And PharaohH6547 calledH7121 MosesH4872 and saidH559, Go, serveH5647 Jehovah; onlyH7535, let your flocksH6629 and your herdsH1241 remain; let your littleH2945 onesH2945 alsoH1571 go with you. 25And MosesH4872 saidH559, Thou must giveH5414 alsoH1571 sacrificesH2077 and burnt-offerings into our handsH3027, that we may sacrificeH2077 to Jehovah our 6GodH430. 26Our cattle alsoH1571 must goH935 with us: there shall not a hoofH6541 be leftH7604 behind; for we must takeH3947 thereof to serveH5647 Jehovah our 7GodH430; and we do not knowH3045 with what we must serveH5647 Jehovah, until we comeH935 there. 27But Jehovah madeH2388 Pharaoh's heartH3820 stubborn, and he wouldH14 not let them goH7971. 28And PharaohH6547 saidH559 to him, Get thee from me, takeH8104 heedH8104 to thyself, seeH7200 my faceH6440 no more; for in the dayH3117 thou seest my faceH6440 thou shalt dieH4191. 29And MosesH4872 saidH559, Thou hast spokenH1696 rightly: I will seeH7200 thy faceH6440 againH5750 no more!
