Exodus 21:7-36
7And if a manH376 shall sellH4376 his daughterH1323 as a handmaid, she shall not goH3318 out as the bondmen goH3318 out. 8If she is unacceptable in the eyesH5869 of her masterH113, who had taken her for himself, then shall he let her be ransomedH6299: to sellH4376 her unto a foreignH5237 peopleH5971 he hath no power, after having dealtH898 unfaithfully with her. 9And if he have appointedH3259 her unto his sonH1121, he shall deal with her after the law of daughtersH1323. 10If he takeH3947 himself another, her food, her clothing, and her conjugal rights he shall not diminish. 11And if he do not these threeH7969 thingsH428 unto her, then shall she goH3318 out free without moneyH3701. 12He that striketh a manH376, so that he dieH4191, shall certainlyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191. 13But if he have not lain in wait, and 1GodH430 have delivered [him] into his handH3027, I will appointH7760 thee a placeH4725 to which he shall fleeH5127. 14But if a manH376 actH2102 wantonly toward his neighbour, and slayH2026 him with guile, thou shalt takeH3947 him from mine altarH4196, that he may dieH4191. 15And he that striketh his fatherH1, or his motherH517, shall certainlyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191. 16And he that stealeth a manH376, and selleth him, or if he be foundH4672 in his handH3027, he shall certainlyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191. 17And he that curseth his fatherH1, or his motherH517, shall certainlyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191. 18And if menH376 dispute, and oneH376 strikeH5221 the other with a stoneH68, or with the fistH106, and he dieH4191 not, but take to [his] bedH4904, 19— if he riseH6965, and walkH1980 abroad upon his staffH4938, then shall he that struckH5221 [him] be guiltless; onlyH7535 he shall pay [for] the loss of his time, and shall cause [him] to be thoroughly healedH7495. 20And if a manH376 strikeH5221 his bondman or his handmaid with a staffH7626, and he dieH4191 under his handH3027, he shall certainly be avengedH5358. 21OnlyH389, if he continue [to live] a dayH3117 or two daysH3117, he shall not be avengedH5358; for he is his moneyH3701. 22And if menH376 strive together, and strikeH5062 a womanH802 with childH3206, so that she beH1961 delivered, and no mischief happen, he shall in any case beH1961 fined, according as the woman's husbandH376 shall impose on him, and shall giveH5414 it as the judges estimate. 23But if mischief happen, then thou shalt giveH5414 lifeH5315 for lifeH5315, 24eyeH5869 for eyeH5869, toothH8127 for toothH8127, handH3027 for handH3027, footH7272 for footH7272, 25branding for branding, woundH6482 for woundH6482, stripe for stripe. 26And if a manH376 strikeH5221 the eyeH5869 of his bondman or the eyeH5869 of his handmaid, and it be marred, he shall let him goH7971 for his eyeH5869. 27And if he knock out his bondman's toothH8127 or his handmaid's toothH8127, he shall let him goH7971 freeH2670 for his toothH8127. 28And if an oxH7794 goreH5055 a manH376 or a womanH802, so that they dieH4191, then the oxH7794 shall certainly be stonedH5619, and its fleshH1320 shall not be eatenH398; but the ownerH1167 of the oxH7794 shall be guiltless. 29But if the oxH7794 have gored heretofore, and it have been testifiedH5749 to its ownerH1167, and he have not keptH8104 it in, and it killH4191 a manH376 or a womanH802, — the oxH7794 shall be stonedH5619, and its ownerH1167 alsoH1571 shall be putH4191 to deathH4191. 30If there be imposed on him a satisfaction, then he shall giveH5414 the ransomH3724 of his lifeH5315, according to what is imposed on him. 31Whether it goreH5055 a sonH1121 or goreH5055 a daughterH1323, according to this judgmentH4941 shall it be done to him. 32If the oxH7794 goreH5055 a bondman or a handmaid, he shall giveH5414 to their masterH113 thirtyH7970 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701, and the oxH7794 shall be stonedH5619. 33— And if a manH376 openH6605 a pitH953, or if a manH376 digH3738 a pitH953, and do not coverH3680 it, and an oxH7794 or an ass fallH5307 into it, 34the ownerH1167 of the pitH953 shall make it good, shall give moneyH3701 to the ownerH1167 of them; and the deadH4191 [ox] shall beH1961 his. 35— And if oneH376 man's oxH7794 gore his neighbour's oxH7794, and it dieH4191, then they shall sellH4376 the live oxH7794, and divideH2673 the moneyH3701 thereof, and divideH2673 the deadH4191 alsoH1571. 36Or if it beH1961 knownH3045 that the oxH7794 have gored heretofore, and its ownerH1167 have not keptH8104 him in, he shall in any case restore oxH7794 for oxH7794; and the deadH4191 shall beH1961 his.
