Exodus 1:16-22
16and he saidH559, When ye help the HebrewH5680 women in bearingH3205, and seeH7200 [them] on the stool, if it be a sonH1121, then ye shall killH4191 him, but if a daughterH1323, then she shall live. 17But the midwives fearedH3372 1GodH430, and did not as the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 had saidH1696 to them, but saved the male childrenH3206 aliveH2421. 18And the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 calledH7121 the midwives and saidH559 to them, WhyH4069 have ye done this, and saved the male childrenH3206 aliveH2421? 19And the midwives saidH559 to PharaohH6547, Because the HebrewH5680 womenH802 are not as the EgyptianH4713; for they are strong, and they have borneH3205 before the midwife comesH935 to them. 20And 2GodH430 dealt wellH3190 with the midwives; and the peopleH5971 multipliedH7235 and became veryH3966 strong. 21And it came to pass, because the midwives fearedH3372 3GodH430, that he madeH6213 them housesH1004. 22Then PharaohH6547 charged all his peopleH5971, sayingH559, Every sonH1121 that is born ye shall castH7993 into the riverH2975, but every daughterH1323 ye shall save aliveH2421.
