2 Kings 6:24-33
24And it came to pass after this that Ben-HadadH1130 kingH4428 of Syria gatheredH6908 all his armyH4264, and wentH5927 up and besieged SamariaH8111. 25And there wasH1961 a greatH1419 famineH7458 in SamariaH8111; and behold, they besieged it, until an ass's headH7218 wasH1961 worth eightyH8084 silver-pieces, and the fourthH7255 part of a cab of dove's dung fiveH2568 silver-pieces. 26And it came to passH5674 as the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 wasH1961 passingH5674 by upon the wallH2346, there criedH6817 a womanH802 to him sayingH559, Help, my lordH113 O kingH4428! 27And he saidH559, If Jehovah do not help thee, whence should I help thee? Out of the threshing-floor, or out of the winepressH3342? 28And the kingH4428 saidH559 to her, What aileth thee? And she saidH559, This womanH802 saidH559 to me, GiveH5414 thy sonH1121, that we may eatH398 him to-day, and we will eatH398 my sonH1121 to-morrow. 29And we boiledH1310 my sonH1121, and ateH398 him: and I saidH559 to her on the next dayH3117, GiveH5414 thy sonH1121, that we may eatH398 him; and she has hiddenH2244 her sonH1121. 30And it came to passH5674 when the kingH4428 heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of the womanH802, that he rent his garmentsH899; and he wasH1961 passingH5674 by upon the wallH2346, and the peopleH5971 lookedH7200, and behold, he had sackclothH8242 within upon his fleshH1320. 31And he saidH559, 1GodH430 do so, and more also to me, if the headH7218 of ElishaH477 the sonH1121 of ShaphatH8202 shall remainH5975 on him this dayH3117! 32And ElishaH477 satH3427 in his houseH1004, and the eldersH2205 satH3427 with him. And [the king] sentH7971 a manH376 before him. Before the messengerH4397 cameH935 to him, he himself saidH559 to the eldersH2205, Do ye seeH7200 how this sonH1121 of a murdererH7523 has sentH7971 to take awayH5493 my headH7218? SeeH7200, when the messengerH4397 comesH935; shutH5462 the doorH1817, and keep him off with the doorH1817: is not the soundH6963 of his master's feetH7272 behind him? 33And while he yetH5750 talked with them, behold, the messengerH4397 cameH3381 downH3381 to him. And [the king] saidH559, Behold, this evilH7451 is of Jehovah: whyH4100 should I waitH3176 for Jehovah any longer?
