1 Samuel 31:1-8

1And the PhilistinesH6430 foughtH3898 against IsraelH3478; and the menH376 of IsraelH3478 fledH5127 from before the PhilistinesH6430, and fellH5307 downH5307 slainH2491 on mount GilboaH1533.

2And the PhilistinesH6430 followed hard upon SaulH7586 and upon his sonsH1121; and the PhilistinesH6430 smote JonathanH3083, and AbinadabH41, and Malchishua, Saul's sonsH1121.

3And the battleH4421 went sore against SaulH7586, and the archersH3384 came up with him; and he was much terrified by the archersH3384.

4Then saidH559 SaulH7586 to his armour-bearer, DrawH8025 thy swordH2719, and thrust me through with it; lestH6435 these uncircumcisedH6189 comeH935 and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armour-bearer wouldH14 not; for he was much afraidH3372. So SaulH7586 tookH3947 the swordH2719 and fellH5307 on it.

5And when his armour-bearer sawH7200 that SaulH7586 was deadH4191, he fellH5307 likewise on his swordH2719, and diedH4191 with him.

6So SaulH7586 diedH4191, and his threeH7969 sonsH1121, and his armour-bearer, and all his menH376, that same dayH3117 togetherH3162.

7And when the menH376 of IsraelH3478 that were on this sideH5676 of the valleyH6010, and [they] that were on this sideH5676 of the JordanH3383, sawH7200 that the menH376 of IsraelH3478 fledH5127, and that SaulH7586 and his sonsH1121 were deadH4191, they forsook the citiesH5892 and fledH5127; and the PhilistinesH6430 cameH935 and dweltH3427 in them.

8And it cameH935 to pass the nextH4283 dayH4283, that the PhilistinesH6430 cameH935 to stripH6584 the slainH2491, and they foundH4672 SaulH7586 and his threeH7969 sonsH1121 fallenH5307 on mount GilboaH1533.
