Darby Bible
Samuel 15:21-25
But the peopleH5971 tookH3947 of the spoilH7998, sheepH6629 and oxenH1241, the choicest of the devoted things, to sacrificeH2076 to Jehovah thy 1GodH430 in GilgalH1537.
And SamuelH8050 saidH559, Has Jehovah delightH2656 in burnt-offerings and sacrificesH2077, As in hearkening to the voiceH6963 of Jehovah? Behold, obedience is betterH2896 than sacrificeH2077, AttentionH7181 than the fatH2459 of ramsH352.
For rebellionH4805 is [as] the sinH2403 of divinationH7081, And selfwill is [as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejectedH3988 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, He hath also rejectedH3988 thee from being kingH4428.
And SaulH7586 saidH559 to SamuelH8050, I have sinnedH2398, for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah, and thy wordsH1697; for I fearedH3372 the peopleH5971, and hearkened to their voiceH6963.
And nowH6258, I pray thee, forgiveH5375 my sinH2403, and turnH7725 again with me, that I may worship Jehovah.
