John 8:30-47
30As he spake these thingsG3778, manyG4183 believedG4100 on him.
31JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 to those JewsG2453 that had believedG4100 him, If ye abideG3306 in my wordG3056, thenG3767 areG1510 ye trulyG230 my disciplesG3101; 32and ye shall knowG1097 the truthG225, and the truthG225 shall make you freeG1659. 33They answeredG611 unto him, We areG1510 Abraham’s seedG4690, and have never yet beenG1510 in bondage to any man: howG4459 sayest thou, Ye shall beG1510 made freeG1658? 34JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, Verily, verily, I sayG3004 unto you, Every oneG3588 that committeth sinG266 isG1510 the bondservant of sinG266. 35And the bondservant abideth not in the houseG3614 for ever: the sonG5207 abideth for ever. 36If thereforeG3767 the SonG5207 shall make you freeG1658, ye shall beG1510 freeG1658 indeedG3689. 37I know that ye areG1510 Abraham’s seedG4690; yetG235 ye seekG2212 to killG615 me, because my wordG3056 hath not free course in you. 38I speakG2980 the thingsG3739 which I have seenG3708 with my FatherG3962: and ye alsoG2532 do the thingsG3739 which ye heardG191 from your fatherG3962. 39They answeredG611 and saidG3004 unto him, Our fatherG3962 isG1510 AbrahamG11. JesusG2424 saith unto them, If ye wereG1510 Abraham’s childrenG5043, ye would do the worksG2041 of AbrahamG11. 40But nowG1161 ye seekG2212 to killG615 me, a manG444 that hath told you the truthG225, which I heardG191 from GodG2316: this did not AbrahamG11. 41Ye do the worksG2041 of your fatherG3962. They saidG3004 unto him, We were not bornG1080 of fornication; we have oneG1520 FatherG3962, even GodG2316. 42JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto them, If GodG2316 wereG1510 your FatherG3962, ye would loveG25 me: for I cameG2064 forthG1831 and amG1510 comeG2064 from GodG2316; for neither have I comeG2064 of myself, but he sentG649 me. 43WhyG5101 do ye not understandG1097 my speechG3056? Even because ye cannot hearG191 my wordG3056. 44Ye areG1510 of your fatherG3962 the devilG1228, and the lustsG1939 of your fatherG3962 it isG1510 your will to do. He wasG1510 a murdererG443 from the beginning, and standeth not in the truthG225, because there isG1510 no truthG225 in him. WhenG3752 he speaketh a lieG5579, he speaketh of his ownG2398: for he isG1510 a liarG5583, and the fatherG3962 thereof. 45But because I sayG3004 the truthG225, ye believeG4100 me not. 46Which of you convicteth me of sinG266? If I sayG3004 truthG225, whyG5101 do ye not believeG4100 me? 47He that isG1510 of GodG2316 heareth the words of GodG2316: for this cause ye hearG191 them not, because ye areG1510 not of GodG2316.
