2 Peter 3
1This is nowG2235, belovedG27, the secondG1208 epistle that I writeG1125 unto you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mindG1271 by putting you in remembrance; 2that ye should rememberG3403 the words which were spoken before by the holyG40 prophetsG4396, and the commandmentG1785 of the LordG2962 and Saviour through your apostlesG652: 3knowingG1097 this firstG4413, that in the lastG2078 daysG2250 mockers shall comeG2064 with mockery, walkingG4198 after their ownG2398 lustsG1939, 4and sayingG3004, WhereG4226 isG1510 the promiseG1860 of his coming? for, from the day that the fathersG3962 fell asleepG2837, all thingsG3956 continue as they wereG1510 from the beginning of the creationG2937. 5For this they wilfully forget, that there wereG1510 heavensG3772 from of old, and an earthG1093 compacted out of waterG5204 and amidst waterG5204, by the wordG3056 of GodG2316; 6by which means the worldG2889 that thenG5119 was, being overflowed with waterG5204, perishedG622: 7but the heavensG3772 that nowG1161 areG1510, and the earthG1093, by the sameG846 wordG3056 have beenG1510 storedG2343 up for fireG4442, beingG1510 reserved against the dayG2250 of judgmentG2920 and destructionG684 of ungodlyG765 menG444.
8But forget not this oneG1520 thingG3778, belovedG27, that oneG1520 dayG2250 is with the LordG2962 as a thousandG5507 yearsG2094, and a thousandG5507 yearsG2094 as oneG1520 dayG2250. 9The LordG2962 is not slack concerning his promiseG1860, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to you-ward, not wishing that any should perishG622, but that all should come to repentanceG3341. 10But the dayG2250 of the LordG2962 will comeG2240 as a thiefG2812; in the which the heavensG3772 shall passG3928 awayG3928 with a great noise, and the elementsG4747 shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earthG1093 and the worksG2041 that are therein shall be burnedG2618 up. 11Seeing that these thingsG3778 are thus all to be dissolved, what mannerG391 of persons oughtG1163 ye to be in all holyG40 living and godlinessG2150, 12lookingG4328 for and earnestly desiring the coming of the dayG2250 of GodG2316, by reason of which the heavensG3772 being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elementsG4747 shall melt with fervent heat? 13But, accordingG2596 to his promise, we lookG4328 for newG2537 heavensG3772 and a newG2537 earthG1093, wherein dwelleth righteousnessG1343.
14Wherefore, belovedG27, seeing that ye lookG4328 for these thingsG3778, give diligence that ye may be foundG2147 in peaceG1515, without spot and blameless in his sight. 15And account that the longsuffering of our LordG2962 is salvationG4991; evenG2532 as our belovedG27 brotherG80 PaulG3972 alsoG2532, accordingG2596 to the wisdomG4678 givenG1325 to him, wroteG1125 unto you; 16as alsoG2532 in all his epistles, speakingG2980 in them of these thingsG3778; wherein areG1510 some thingsG3778 hard to beG1510 understood, which the ignorant and unstedfast wrest, as they do alsoG2532 the otherG3062 scripturesG1124, unto their ownG2398 destructionG684. 17Ye thereforeG3767, belovedG27, knowingG4267 these things beforehand, beware lestG3361, being carried awayG4879 with the errorG4106 of the wicked, ye fall from your ownG2398 stedfastness. 18But growG837 in the graceG5485 and knowledgeG1108 of our LordG2962 and Saviour JesusG2424 ChristG5547. To him be the gloryG1391 both nowG1161 and for ever. AmenG281.
