19 And there came προσελθὼν proselthōn G4334 a scribe γραμματεὺς grammateus G1122 , and said G3004 unto him , Teacher διδάσκαλε, didaskale G1320 , I will follow ἀκολουθήσω akolouthēsō G190 thee whithersoever thou goest. 20 And Jesus Ἰησοῦς· Iēsous G2424 saith unto him , The foxes ἀλώπεκες alōpekes G258 have holes , and the birds πετεινὰ peteina G4071 of the heaven G3772 have nests κατασκηνώσεις, kataskēnōseis G2682 ; but the Son υἱὸς huios G5207 of man ἀνθρώπου anthrōpou G444 hath not where ποῦ pou G4226 to lay his head κεφαλὴν kephalēn G2776 . 22 But Jesus Ἰησοῦς Iēsous G2424 saith unto him , Follow ἀκολούθει akolouthei G190 me ; and leave ἄφες aphes G863 the dead νεκροὺς nekrous G3498 to bury θάψαι thapsai G2290 their own ἑαυτῶν he'autōn G1438 dead νεκρούς.¶ nekrous G3498 . 23 And when he was entered into a boat πλοῖον ploion G4143 , his disciples G3101 followed ἠκολούθησαν ēkolouthēsan G190 him . 24 And behold ἰδοὺ idou G2400 , there arose ἐγένετο egeneto G1096 a great μέγας megas G3173 tempest in the sea θαλάσσῃ thalassē G2281 , insomuch that the boat πλοῖον ploion G4143 was covered G2572 with the waves : but he was asleep . 25 And they came προσελθόντες proselthontes G4334 to him , and awoke him , saying λέγοντες· legontes G3004 , Save σῶσον sōson G4982 , Lord κύριε, kurie G2962 ; we perish ἀπολλύμεθα. apollumetha G622 . 26 And he saith unto them , Why τί ti G5101 are G1510 ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose , and rebuked G2008 the winds ἀνέμοις anemois G417 and the sea θαλάσσῃ, thalassē G2281 ; and there was G1510 a great μεγάλη.¶ megalē G3173 calm γαλήνη galēnē G1055 . 28 And when he was come G2064 to the other πέραν peran G4008 side G4008 into the country G5561 of the Gadarenes , there met him two δύο duo G1417 possessed with demons, coming G2064 forth ἐξερχόμενοι, exerchomenoi G1831 out of the tombs μνημείων mnēmeiōn G3419 , exceeding fierce, so that no man could pass παρελθεῖν parelthein G3928 by that way ὁδοῦ hodou G3598 . 29 And behold ἰδοὺ idou G2400 , they cried G2896 out , saying λέγοντες· legontes G3004 , What have we to do with thee, thou Son υἱὲ huie G5207 of God θεοῦ; theou G2316 ? art thou come ἦλθες ēlthes G2064 hither to torment βασανίσαι basanisai G928 us before the time καιροῦ kairou G2540 ? 31 And the demons besought him , saying λέγοντες· legontes G3004 , If thou cast ἐκβάλλεις ekballeis G1544 us out , send ἀπόστειλον aposteilon G649 us away into the herd ἀγέλην agelēn G34 of swine . 32 And he said G3004 unto them , Go ὑπάγετε. hupagete G5217 . And they came G1831 out , and went G1831 into the swine : and behold ἰδοὺ idou G2400 , the whole herd ἀγέλη agelē G34 rushed ὥρμησεν hōrmēsen G3729 down the steep κρημνοῦ krēmnou G2911 into the sea θάλασσαν, thalassan G2281 , and perished in the waters ὕδασιν. hudasin G5204 . 33 And they that fed them fled G5343 , and went G565 away ἀπελθόντες apelthontes G565 into the city πόλιν polin G4172 , and told G518 everything πάντα panta G3956 , and what was befallen to them that were possessed with demons. 34 And behold ἰδοὺ idou G2400 , all the city πόλις polis G4172 came G1831 out to meet ὑπάντησιν hupantēsin G5222 Jesus Ἰησοῦ, Iēsou G2424 : and when they saw G3708 him , they besought him that he would depart μεταβῇ metabēa G3327 from their borders.
