17and at the dinnerδείπνουdeipnouG1173hourὥρᾳhōraG5610he sentἀπέστειλενapesteilenG649his slaveδοῦλονdoulonG1401to tellG3004thoseG3588who had been invitedκεκλημένοις·keklēmenoisG2564, ‘Comeἔρχεσθε,erchestheG2064,becauseὅτιhotiG3754everything is readyἕτοιμάhetoimaG2092nowἤδηēdēG2235.’

18And yetthey allπάντεςpantesG3956alikeἀπὸ μιᾶςapo miasG575 G1520beganἤρξαντοērxantoG757to makeG3868excusesG3868.The firstπρῶτοςprōtosG4413oneG4413saidG3004to him, ‘I purchasedἠγόρασαēgorasaG59a fieldἀγρὸνagronG68and I needἀνάγκηνanagkēnG318to goG1831outG1831to lookG3708at it;pleaseἐρωτῶerōtōG2065considerG2192me excusedG3868.’

19And anotherG2087oneG2087saidG3004, ‘I boughtἠγόρασαēgorasaG59fiveπέντεpenteG4002yokeζεύγηzeugēG2201of oxenβοῶνboōnG1016,and I am goingπορεύομαιporeuomaiG4198to tryG1381them outG1381;pleaseἐρωτῶerōtōG2065considerἔχεecheG2192me excusedπαρῃτημένον.parētēmenonG3868.’

20And anotherG2087oneG2087saidG3004, ‘I tookG1060a womanγυναῖκαgunaikaG1135as my wifeG1060,and for that reasonδιὰdiaG1223I cannotοὐ δύναμαιou dunamaiG1410 G3756comeἐλθεῖν.eltheinG2064.’

21And the slaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401cameπαραγενόμενοςparagenomenosG3854backand reportedἀπήγγειλενapēngeilenG518thisταῦτα.¶tautaG3778to his masterκυρίῳkuriōG2962.ThenΤότεToteG5119the headG3617ofG3617theG3617householdG3617becameG3710angryὀργισθεὶςorgistheisG3710and saidG3004to his slaveδούλῳdoulōG1401, ‘GoἔξελθεexeltheG1831outG1831at onceταχέωςtacheōsG5030into the streetsπλατείαςplateiasG4116and lanesῥύμαςrhumasG4505of the cityπόλεως,poleōsG4172and bringεἰσάγαγεeisagageG1521inG1521hereὧδε.hōdeG5602thoseG3588who are poorπτωχοὺςptōchousG4434,those with disabilitiesG374,those who are blindτυφλοὺςtuphlousG5185,and those who are limpingχωλοὺςchōlousG5560.’

22And laterthe slaveδοῦλος·doulosG1401saidG3004, ‘Masterκύριε,kurieG2962,whatὃhoG3739you commandedἐπέταξας,epetaxasG2004has beenG1096doneG1096,and stillἔτιetiG2089there is roomτόποςtoposG5117.’

23And the masterκύριοςkuriosG2962saidG3004to the slaveδοῦλον·doulonG1401, ‘GoἔξελθεexeltheG1831outG1831into the roadsὁδοὺςhodousG3598and the hedgesφραγμοὺςphragmousG5418and pressG315uponG315themto comeεἰσελθεῖνeiseltheinG1525inG1525,soἵναinaG2443thatG2443my houseοἶκος.oikosG3624will be filledγεμισθῇgemisthēaG1072.

24For I tellλέγωlegōG3004you, noneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762of thoseἐκείνωνekeinōnG1565menἀνδρῶνandrōnG435who were invitedκεκλημένωνkeklēmenōnG2564shall tasteγεύσεταίgeusetaiG1089my dinnerδείπνουdeipnouG1173.’”
