1ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: “Goהָל֛וֹךְha.LokhH1980and buyוְקָנִ֥יתָve.ka.Ni.taH7069apotter’sיוֹצֵ֣רyo.TzerH3335earthenwareחָ֑רֶשׂCha.resH2789jarבַקְבֻּ֖קvak.BukH1228, and takesomeH4480of theeldersוּמִזִּקְנֵ֣יu.mi.zik.NeiH2205of the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971and someH4480of theseniorוּמִזִּקְנֵ֖יu.mi.zik.NeiH2205priestsהַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃ha.ko.ha.NimH3548.

2Then goוְיָצָ֙אתָ֙ve.ya.Tza.taH3318outH3318to theValleyגֵּ֣יאgei'H1516of Ben-hinnomבֶן־ הִנֹּ֔םven- hi.NomH1121 H2011,whichH834is by the entranceפֶּ֖תַחPe.tachH6607of thePotsherdהַֽחַרְסִ֑יתha.cha.ra.sutH2777Gateשַׁ֣עַרSha.'arH8179, andproclaimוְקָרָ֣אתָve.ka.Ra.taH7121thereשָּׁ֔םShamH8033the wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697that I tellאֲדַבֵּ֥ר'a.da.BerH1696you,

3and sayוְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ve.'a.mar.TaH559, ‘Hearשִׁמְע֣וּshim.'UH8085the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, youkingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063and inhabitantsוְיֹשְׁבֵ֖יve.yo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֜וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478saysאָמַר֩'a.MarH559: “BeholdH2009I am going to bringמֵבִ֤יאme.Vi'H935adisasterH7463upon thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088placeהַמָּק֣וֹםha.ma.KomH4725,at whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834theearsאָזְנָֽיו׃'a.ze.NavH241of everyoneכָּל־kol-H3605that hearsשֹׁמְעָ֖הּsho.me.'AhH8085of it will tingleתִּצַּ֥לְנָהti.Tzal.nahH6750.

4Sinceיַ֣עַן׀Ya.'anH3282 H834they haveabandonedעֲזָבֻ֗נִי'a.za.Vu.niH5800Me and havemadeH5235thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088placeהַמָּק֤וֹםha.ma.KomH4725foreignH5235,and have burnedH6999sacrificesH6999in it tootherאֲחֵרִ֔ים'a.che.RimH312godsלֵאלֹהִ֣יםle.lo.HimH430that neitherH3808they norH3808their forefathersוַאֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֖םva.'a.vo.tei.HemH1norH3808the kingsוּמַלְכֵ֣יu.mal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063had everknownיְדָע֛וּםye.da.'UmH3045, and sincethey have filledוּמָֽלְא֛וּu.mal.'UH4390thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088placeהַמָּק֥וֹםha.ma.KomH4725with thebloodדַּ֥םdamH1818of the innocentנְקִיִּֽם׃ne.ki.YimH5355

5and have builtוּבָנ֞וּu.va.NuH1129thehighבָּמ֣וֹתba.MotH1116placesH1116of Baalהַבַּ֗עַלha.Ba.'alH1168to burnלִשְׂרֹ֧ףlis.RofH8313theirsonsבְּנֵיהֶ֛םbe.nei.HemH1121in the fireבָּאֵ֖שׁba.'EshH784as burntעֹל֣וֹתo.LotH5930offeringsH5930to Baalלַבָּ֑עַלla.Ba.'alH1168, a thingwhichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834I did not commandצִוִּ֙יתִי֙tzi.Vi.tiH6680nor speakדִבַּ֔רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696of, norH3808did it everenterעָלְתָ֖ה'al.TahH5927Mymindלִבִּֽי׃ פli.BiH3820;

6thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651,beholdהִנֵּֽה־hi.neh-H2009,daysיָמִ֤יםya.MimH3117are comingבָּאִים֙ba.'ImH935,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, “when thisהַזֶּ֥הha.ZehH2088placeלַמָּק֨וֹםla.ma.KomH4725will noוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808longerע֛וֹדodH5750be calledיִקָּרֵא֩yi.ka.Re'H7121Tophethהַתֹּ֖פֶתha.To.fetH8612orthe Valleyוְגֵ֣יאve.Gei'H1516of Ben-hinnomבֶן־ הִנֹּ֑םven- hi.NomH1121 H2011,but ratherכִּ֖י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518the Valleyגֵּ֥יאgei'H1516of Slaughterהַהֲרֵגָֽה׃ha.ha.re.GahH2028.

7And I willfrustrateוּ֠בַקֹּתִיU.va.ko.tiH1238the planningעֲצַ֨ת'a.TzatH6098of Judahיְהוּדָ֤הye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙vi.ru.sha.LimH3389in thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088placeבַּמָּק֣וֹםba.ma.KomH4725, andI will make them fallוְהִפַּלְתִּ֤יםve.hi.pal.TimH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֙רֶב֙ba.Che.revH2719beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440their enemiesH340and by the handוּבְיַ֖דu.ve.YadH3027of those who seekמְבַקְשֵׁ֣יme.vak.SheiH1245their lifeנַפְשָׁ֑םnaf.ShamH5315;and I will makeוְנָתַתִּ֤יve.na.ta.TiH5414theircarcassesנִבְלָתָם֙niv.la.TamH5038foodלְמַֽאֲכָ֔לle.ma.'a.KhalH3978for the birdsלְע֥וֹףle.'ofH5775of the skyהַשָּׁמַ֖יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and the animalsוּלְבֶהֱמַ֥תu.le.ve.he.MatH929of the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

8I will also turnוְשַׂמְתִּי֙ve.sam.TiH7760thisH2088cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892into an objectH8047ofH8047horrorH8047andhissingוְלִשְׁרֵקָ֑הve.lish.re.KahH8322;everyoneכֹּ֚לkolH3605who passesעֹבֵ֣ר'o.VerH5674by it will beH8074appalledH8074andhissוְיִשְׁרֹ֖קve.yish.RokH8319becauseH5921of allכָּל־kol-H3605itsdisastersמַכֹּתֶֽהָ׃ma.ko.Te.haH4347.

9And I will make themeatוְהַֽאֲכַלְתִּ֞יםve.ha.'a.khal.TimH398the fleshבְּשַׂ֣רbe.SarH1320of their sonsבְּנֵיהֶ֗םbe.nei.HemH1121and the fleshבְּשַׂ֣רbe.SarH1320of their daughtersבְּנֹתֵיהֶ֔םbe.no.tei.HemH1323,and they will eatיֹאכֵ֑לוּyo.Khe.luH398oneוְאִ֥ישׁve.'IshH376another’sרֵעֵ֖הוּre.'E.huH7453fleshבְּשַׂר־be.sar-H1320during the siegeבְּמָצוֹר֙be.ma.tzOrH4692and in the hardshipוּבְמָצ֔וֹקu.ve.ma.TzokH4689with whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834their enemiesH340and those who seekוּמְבַקְשֵׁ֥יu.me.vak.SheiH1245their lifeנַפְשָֽׁם׃naf.ShamH5315will tormentיָצִ֧יקוּya.Tzi.kuH6693them.”’

10“Then you are to breakוְשָׁבַרְתָּ֖ve.sha.var.TaH7665thejarהַבַּקְבֻּ֑קha.bak.BukH1228in the sightלְעֵינֵי֙le.'ei.NeiH5869of the menH376who accompanyהַהֹלְכִ֖ים אוֹתָֽךְ׃ha.ho.le.Khim 'o.TakhH1980 H854you,

11and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֗וֹתtze.va.'otH6635saysאָמַ֣ר׀'a.MarH559: “To the sameH3602extentH3602I willbreakאֶשְׁבֹּ֞ר'esh.BorH7665thisH2088peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971and thisH2088cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892,justH3512asH3512one breaksיִשְׁבֹּר֙yish.BorH7665a potter’sהַיּוֹצֵ֔רhai.yo.TzerH3335vesselכְּלִ֣יke.LiH3627,whichH834cannotלֹֽא־ יוּכַ֥לlo'- yu.KhalH3201 H3808againע֑וֹדodH5750be repairedלְהֵרָפֵ֖הle.he.ra.PehH7495; and they willburyיִקְבְּר֔וּyik.be.RuH6912their deadin Tophethוּבְתֹ֣פֶתu.ve.To.fetH8612,becauseH4480thereH369isH369noH369otherplaceמָק֖וֹםma.KomH4725for burialלִקְבּֽוֹר׃lik.BorH6912.

12ThisH3651isH3651howH3651I will treatאֶעֱשֶׂ֞ה'e.'e.SehH6213thisH2088placeלַמָּק֥וֹםla.ma.KomH4725and its inhabitantsוּלְיֽוֹשְׁבָ֑יוu.le.yo.she.VavH3427,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, “so as to makeוְלָתֵ֛תve.la.TetH5414thisH2088cityהָעִ֥ירha.'IrH5892like Tophethכְּתֹֽפֶת׃ke.To.fetH8612.

13Thehousesבָּתֵּ֣יba.TeiH1004of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389and the housesוּבָתֵּי֙u.va.TeiH1004of the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063will bedefiledהַטְּמֵאִ֑יםha.te.me.'ImH2931like the placeכִּמְק֥וֹםkim.KomH4725Tophethהַתֹּ֖פֶתha.To.fetH8612,because of allלְכֹ֣לle.KholH3605thehousesהַבָּתִּ֗יםha.ba.TimH1004on whoseאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834rooftopsגַּגֹּֽתֵיהֶם֙ga.go.tei.HemH1406they burnedH6999sacrificesH6999toallלְכֹל֙le.KholH3605the heavenlyהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064lightsצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635andpouredוְהַסֵּ֥ךְve.ha.SekhH5258outH5258drinkנְסָכִ֖יםne.sa.KhimH5262offeringsH5262to otherאֲחֵרִֽים׃ פ'a.che.RimH312godsלֵאלֹהִ֥יםle.lo.HimH430.”’”

14Then Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙yir.me.Ya.huH3414cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935from Tophethמֵֽהַתֹּ֔פֶתme.ha.To.fetH8612,whereאֲשֶׁ֨ר שָׁ֖ם'a.Sher shamH834 H8033the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068had sentשְׁלָח֧וֹshe.la.ChoH7971him to prophesyלְהִנָּבֵ֑אle.hi.na.Ve'H5012;and he stoodוַֽיַּעֲמֹד֙vai.ya.'a.ModH5975in thecourtyardבַּחֲצַ֣רba.cha.TzarH2691of the Lord’sיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068houseבֵּית־beit-H1004and saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָֽם׃ סha.'AmH5971,
