2“Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063mournsאָבְלָ֣ה'a.ve.LahH56Andher gatesוּשְׁעָרֶ֥יהָu.she.'a.Rei.haH8179languishאֻמְלְל֖וּ'um.le.LuH535; Her people siton the groundלָאָ֑רֶץla.'A.retzH776in mourningקָדְר֣וּka.de.RuH6937garmentsH6937, And thecryוְצִוְחַ֥תve.tziv.ChatH6682of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389has ascendedעָלָֽתָה׃'a.La.tahH5927.

Thefarmersאִכָּרִ֖ים'i.ka.RimH406have been putH954toH954shameH954,They have coveredחָפ֥וּcha.FuH2645their headsרֹאשָֽׁם׃ro.ShamH7218.

5For evenגַם־gam-H1571the doeאַיֶּ֙לֶת֙'ai.Ye.letH355in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704has givenH3205birthיָלְדָ֖הYal.dahH3205only to abandonוְעָז֑וֹבve.'a.ZovH5800her young,BecauseH3588there isnoלֹֽא־lo'-H3808grassדֶּֽשֶׁא׃De.she'H1877.

6Thewildוּפְרָאִים֙u.fe.ra.'ImH6501donkeysH6501standעָמְד֣וּ'a.me.DuH5975on the bareשְׁפָיִ֔םshe.fa.YimH8205heightsH8205;They pantשָׁאֲפ֥וּsha.'a.FuH7602for airר֖וּחַRu.achH7307like jackalsH8565,Their eyesעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם'ei.nei.HemH5869failכָּל֥וּka.LuH3615Becauseכִּי־ki-H3588thereH369isH369noH369vegetationעֵֽשֶׂב׃'E.sevH6212.

7Thoughאִם־'im-H518ourwrongdoingsעֲוֹנֵ֙ינוּ֙'a.vo.Nei.nuH5771testifyעָ֣נוּ'A.nuH6030against us,Lordיְהוָ֕הYah.wehH3068,actעֲשֵׂ֖ה'a.SehH6213for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of Your nameשְׁמֶ֑ךָshe.Me.khaH8034! Ourapostasiesמְשׁוּבֹתֵ֖ינוּme.shu.vo.Tei.nuH4878have indeedכִּֽי־ki-H3588beenH7231manyרַבּ֥וּra.BuH7231, We havesinnedחָטָֽאנוּ׃cha.Ta.nuH2398against You.

8Hopeמִקְוֵה֙mik.VehH4723of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, ItsSaviorמֽוֹשִׁיע֖וֹmo.shi.'OH3467intimeבְּעֵ֣תbe.'EtH6256of distressצָרָ֑הtza.RahH6869,Whyלָ֤מָּהLa.mahH4100are You like a strangerכְּגֵ֣רke.GerH1616in the landבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776,Or like a travelerוּכְאֹרֵ֖חַu.khe.'o.Re.achH732who has pitchedנָטָ֥הna.TahH5186his tentfor the nightלָלֽוּן׃la.LunH3885?

9Whyלָ֤מָּהLa.mahH4100are You like a confusedנִדְהָ֔םnid.HamH1724personכְּאִ֣ישׁke.'IshH376,Like a warriorכְּגִבּ֖וֹרke.gi.BorH1368whocannotלֹא־ יוּכַ֣לlo'- yu.KhalH3201 H3808saveלְהוֹשִׁ֑יעַle.ho.Shi.a'H3467? YetYou are in our midstבְקִרְבֵּ֣נוּve.kir.Be.nuH7130, Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, And we arecalledנִקְרָ֖אnik.Ra'H7121by Your nameוְשִׁמְךָ֛ve.shim.KhaH8034;Do not leaveתַּנִּחֵֽנוּ׃ סta.ni.Che.nuH5117us!”

10ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559to thisהַזֶּ֗הha.ZehH2088peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971: “SoH3651muchH3651they havelovedאָֽהֲבוּ֙'a.ha.VuH157to wanderלָנ֔וּעַla.Nu.a'H5128; they have notrestrainedחָשָׂ֑כוּcha.Sa.khuH2820their feetרַגְלֵיהֶ֖םrag.lei.HemH7272.Therefore the Lordוַיהוָה֙va.Yah.wehH3068doesnot acceptרָצָ֔םra.TzamH7521them; nowעַתָּה֙'a.TahH6258He willrememberיִזְכֹּ֣רyiz.KorH2142their wrongdoingעֲוֹנָ֔ם'a.vo.NamH5771and callH6485their sinsחַטֹּאתָֽם׃ סcha.to.TamH2403toH6485accountH6485.”

11So the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Do not prayתִּתְפַּלֵּ֛לtit.pa.LelH6419for a goodH2899outcomeH2899on behalfבְּעַד־be.'ad-H1157of thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971.

12Whenכִּ֣יkiH3588they fastיָצֻ֗מוּya.Tzu.muH6684, I amnot going to listenשֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙sho.Me.a'H8085to their cryרִנָּתָ֔םri.na.TamH7440;and whenוְכִ֧יve.KhiH3588they offerיַעֲל֛וּya.'a.LuH5927burntעֹלָ֥ה'o.LahH5930offeringH5930and grain offeringוּמִנְחָ֖הu.min.ChahH4503,I am not going to acceptרֹצָ֑םro.TzamH7521them. Ratherכִּ֗יKiH3588, I am going toputH3615anH3615endמְכַלֶּ֥הme.kha.LehH3615toH3615them by theswordבַּחֶ֙רֶב֙ba.Che.revH2719,famineוּבָרָעָ֣בu.va.ra.'AvH7458,and plagueוּבַדֶּ֔בֶרu.va.De.verH1698.”

13But I saidוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559, “Ohאֲהָ֣הּ׀'a.HahH162,Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068!Beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,the prophetsהַנְּבִאִ֜יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030are tellingאֹמְרִ֤ים'o.me.RimH559them, ‘Youwill not seeתִרְא֣וּtir.'UH7200a swordחֶ֔רֶבChe.revH2719,norH3808will you haveיִהְיֶ֣הyih.YehH1961famineוְרָעָ֖בve.ra.'AvH7458;onH3588theH3588contraryH3588,I will giveאֶתֵּ֣ן'e.TenH5414you lastingאֱמֶת֙'e.MetH571peaceשְׁל֤וֹםshe.LomH7965in thisהַזֶּֽה׃ סha.ZehH2088placeבַּמָּק֖וֹםba.ma.KomH4725.’”

14Then the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Theprophetsהַנְּבִאִים֙ha.ne.vi.'ImH5030are prophesyingנִבְּאִ֣יםni.be.'ImH5012falsehoodשֶׁ֚קֶרShe.kerH8267in My nameבִּשְׁמִ֔יbish.MiH8034.I have neitherלֹ֤אlo'H3808sentשְׁלַחְתִּים֙she.lach.TimH7971them norוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808commandedצִוִּיתִ֔יםtzi.vi.TimH6680them, norוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808spokenדִבַּ֖רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696to them; they are prophesyingמִֽתְנַבְּאִ֥יםmit.na.be.'ImH5012to you afalseשֶׁ֜קֶרShe.kerH8267visionחֲז֨וֹןcha.ZonH2377,divinationוְקֶ֤סֶםve.Ke.semH7081,futilityוֶֽאֱלִיל֙ve.'e.lulH457,and the deceptionוְתַרְמִ֣יתve.tar.mutH8649of their ownmindsלִבָּ֔םli.BamH3820.

15Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559concerningעַֽל־'al-H5921the prophetsהַנְּבִאִ֞יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030who are prophesyingהַנִּבְּאִ֣יםha.ni.be.'ImH5012in My nameבִּשְׁמִי֮bish.MiH8034,although it was not I who sentשְׁלַחְתִּים֒she.lach.TimH7971them--yet they keep sayingאֹֽמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559: ‘There will be noH3808swordחֶ֣רֶבChe.revH2719or famineוְרָעָ֔בve.ra.'AvH7458in thisH2088landבָּאָ֣רֶץba.'A.retzH776’--by swordבַּחֶ֤רֶבba.Che.revH2719and famineוּבָֽרָעָב֙u.va.ra.'AvH7458thoseH1992prophetsהַנְּבִאִ֖יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030shall meetיִתַּ֔מּוּyi.Ta.muH8552their endH8552!

16And the peopleוְהָעָ֣םve.ha.'AmH5971to whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834they are prophesyingנִבְּאִ֣יםni.be.'ImH5012will bethrownH7993outH7993into the streetsבְּחֻצ֨וֹתbe.chu.TzotH2351of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֜םye.ru.sha.LimH3389becauseמִפְּנֵ֣י׀mi.pe.NeiH4480 H6440of the famineהָרָעָ֣בha.ra.'AvH7458and the swordוְהַחֶ֗רֶבve.ha.Che.revH2719;and thereH369willH369beH369noH369oneH369toburyמְקַבֵּר֙me.ka.BerH6912them--neither them, northeir wivesנְשֵׁיהֶ֔םne.shei.HemH802,norH369their sonsוּבְנֵיהֶ֖םu.ve.nei.HemH1121,norH369their daughtersוּבְנֹֽתֵיהֶ֑םu.ve.no.tei.HemH1323. For I willpourוְשָׁפַכְתִּ֥יve.sha.fakh.TiH8210outH8210their ownwickednessH7463upon them.

17You will sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֤ve.'a.mar.TaH559thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088wordהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697to them, ‘Let my eyesעֵינַ֥י'ei.NaiH5869streamH3381downתֵּרַ֨דְנָהte.Rad.nahH3381tearsדִּמְעָ֛הdim.'AhH1832nightלַ֥יְלָהLay.lahH3915and dayוְיוֹמָ֖םve.yo.MamH3119,And let them not ceaseתִּדְמֶ֑ינָהtid.Mei.nahH1820;For the virginבְּתוּלַת֙be.tu.LatH1330daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of my peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971has been crushedנִשְׁבְּרָ֗הnish.be.RahH7665with a mightyגָּד֜וֹלga.DolH1419blowשֶׁ֨בֶרShe.verH7667,With a sorelyמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966infectedנַחְלָ֥הnach.LahH2470woundמַכָּ֖הma.KahH4347.

18Ifאִם־'im-H518IgoH3318outH3318to the countryהַשָּׂדֶ֗הha.sa.DehH7704,Thereוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009are those killedחַלְלֵי־cha.lei-H2491by the swordחֶ֔רֶבChe.revH2719!Or ifוְאִם֙ve.'ImH518I enterבָּ֣אתִיBa.tiH935the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,Thereוְהִנֵּ֖הve.hi.NehH2009are diseasesתַּחֲלוּאֵ֣יta.cha.lu.'EiH8463from famineרָעָ֑בra.'AvH7458! ForbothH1571prophetנָבִ֧יאna.Vi'H5030and priestכֹּהֵ֛ןko.HenH3548Have wanderedH5503aroundH5503in the landאֶ֖רֶץ'E.retzH776that they do not knowיָדָֽעוּ׃ סya.Da.'uH3045.’”

19Have You completelyהֲמָאֹ֨סha.ma.'OsH3988rejectedמָאַ֜סְתָּma.'As.taH3988Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063?Orאִם־'im-H518haveYou loathedגָּעֲלָ֣הga.'a.LahH1602Zionבְּצִיּוֹן֙be.tzi.yOnH6726?Whyמַדּ֙וּעַ֙ma.Du.a'H4069have You strickenהִכִּיתָ֔נוּhi.ki.Ta.nuH5221us so that weare beyondוְאֵ֥יןve.'EinH369healingמַרְפֵּ֑אmar.Pe'H4832? Wewaitedקַוֵּ֤הka.VehH6960for peaceלְשָׁלוֹם֙le.sha.lOmH7965,but nothingוְאֵ֣יןve.'EinH369goodט֔וֹבTovH2896came;And for a timeוּלְעֵ֥תu.le.'EtH6256of healingמַרְפֵּ֖אmar.Pe'H4832,but beholdוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009,terrorבְעָתָֽה׃ve.'a.TahH1205!

20Weknowיָדַ֧עְנוּya.Da'.nuH3045our wickednessרִשְׁעֵ֖נוּrish.'E.nuH7562, Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068,The wrongdoingעֲוֹ֣ן'a.VonH5771of our fathersאֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ'a.vo.Tei.nuH1, forwe have sinnedחָטָ֖אנוּcha.Ta.nuH2398against You.

21Do not despiseתִּנְאַץ֙tin.'AtzH5006us,for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of Your own nameשִׁמְךָ֔shim.KhaH8034;Do not disgraceתְּנַבֵּ֖לte.na.BelH5034thethroneכִּסֵּ֣אki.Se'H3678of Your gloryכְבוֹדֶ֑ךָkhe.vo.De.khaH3519.Rememberזְכֹ֕רze.KhorH2142anddo not annulתָּפֵ֥רta.FerH6565Your covenantבְּרִֽיתְךָ֖be.ri.te.KhaH1285with us.
