2“Hearשִׁמְע֕וּshim.'UH8085the wordsדִּבְרֵ֖יdiv.ReiH1697of thisH2088covenantהַבְּרִ֣יתha.be.RitH1285,and speakוְדִבַּרְתָּם֙ve.di.bar.TamH1696to the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063and to the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389;

3and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478saysאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559: “Cursedאָר֣וּר'a.RurH779is the oneהָאִ֔ישׁha.'IshH376whoאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834does not obeyיִשְׁמַ֔עyish.Ma'H8085the wordsדִּבְרֵ֖יdiv.ReiH1697of thisH2088covenantהַבְּרִ֥יתha.be.RitH1285

4whichH834I commandedצִוִּ֣יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680your forefathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֡ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1on thedayבְּי֣וֹםbe.YomH3117that I broughtH3318them outH3318of the landמֵאֶֽרֶץ־me.'e.retz-H776of Egyptמִצְרַיִם֩mitz.ra.YimH4714, from theironהַבַּרְזֶ֜לha.bar.ZelH1270furnaceמִכּ֨וּרmi.KurH3564,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, ‘Listenשִׁמְע֤וּshim.'UH8085to My voiceבְקוֹלִי֙ve.ko.LiH6963, anddoוַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣םva.'a.si.TemH6213according to allכְּכֹ֥לke.KholH3605that I commandאֲצַוֶּ֖ה'a.tza.VehH6680you; so you shall beMy peopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971,and I will be your Godלֵאלֹהִֽים׃le.lo.HimH430,’

5inH4616orderH4616toH4616confirmהָקִ֨יםha.KimH6965theoathהַשְּׁבוּעָ֜הha.she.vu.'AhH7621whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I sworeנִשְׁבַּ֣עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650to your forefathersלַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םla.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,to giveלָתֵ֤תla.TetH5414them a landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776flowingזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֛בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבַ֖שׁu.de.VashH1706, as it isthisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088dayכַּיּ֣וֹםkai.YomH3117.”’”Then I repliedוָאַ֥עַן וָאֹמַ֖רva.'A.'an va.'o.MarH6030 H559, “Amenאָמֵ֥ן׀'a.MenH543, Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.”

6And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Proclaimקְרָ֨אke.Ra'H7121allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֤יםha.de.va.RimH1697in the citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063and in the streetsוּבְחֻצ֥וֹתu.ve.chu.TzotH2351of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, ‘Hearשִׁמְע֗וּshim.'UH8085the wordsדִּבְרֵי֙div.ReiH1697of thisH2088covenantהַבְּרִ֣יתha.be.RitH1285anddoוַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖םva.'a.si.TemH6213them.

7For I solemnlyהָעֵ֨דha.'EdH5749warnedהַעִדֹ֜תִיha.'i.Do.tiH5749your fathersבַּאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םba.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1on thedayבְּיוֹם֩be.yOmH3117I broughtH5927them upH5927from the landמֵאֶ֤רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714,even to thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117,warningוְהָעֵ֖דve.ha.'EdH5749thempersistentlyהַשְׁכֵּ֥םhash.KemH7925,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Listenשִׁמְע֖וּshim.'UH8085to My voiceבְּקוֹלִֽי׃be.ko.LiH6963.”

8Yet theydidH6213not obeyשָֽׁמְעוּ֙sha.me.'UH8085or inclineהִטּ֣וּhi.TuH5186their earאָזְנָ֔ם'a.ze.NamH241,but walkedוַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּvai.Ye.le.KhuH1980in the stubbornnessבִּשְׁרִיר֖וּתbish.ri.RutH8307of their evilהָרָ֑עha.Ra'H7451heartלִבָּ֣םli.BamH3820,eachH376oneH376of them;therefore I broughtוָאָבִ֨יאva.'a.Vi'H935on them allכָּל־kol-H3605thewordsדִּבְרֵ֧יdiv.ReiH1697of thisH2088covenantהַבְּרִית־ha.be.rit-H1285whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I commandedצִוִּ֥יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680themto doH6213,but they didH6213not.’”

9Then the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Aconspiracyקֶ֙שֶׁר֙ke.sherH7195has been foundנִֽמְצָא־nim.tza'-H4672among the menבְּאִ֣ישׁbe.'IshH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063and among the inhabitantsוּבְיֹשְׁבֵ֖יu.ve.yo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389.

10They haveturnedH7725backH7725to the wrongdoingsעֲוֹנֹ֨ת'a.vo.NotH5771of theirancestorsהָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֗יםha.ri.sho.NimH7223whoאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834refusedמֵֽאֲנוּ֙me.'a.NuH3985to hearלִשְׁמ֣וֹעַlish.Mo.a'H8085My wordsדְּבָרַ֔יde.va.RaiH1697, and theyhave followedהָלְכ֗וּ אַחֲרֵ֛יha.le.Khu 'a.cha.ReiH1980 H310otherאֲחֵרִ֖ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430to serveלְעָבְדָ֑םle.'a.ve.DamH5647them. The houseבֵֽית־veit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and the houseוּבֵ֣יתu.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063havebrokenהֵפֵ֤רוּhe.Fe.ruH6565My covenantבְּרִיתִ֕יbe.ri.TiH1285whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I madeכָּרַ֖תִּיka.Ra.tiH3772with their fathersH1.”

11Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: “BeholdH2009, I ambringingמֵבִ֤יאme.Vi'H935disasterH7463on them whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834they willnot beH3201ableיוּכְל֖וּyu.khe.LuH3201to escapeלָצֵ֣את מִמֶּ֑נָּהla.Tzet mi.Me.nahH3318 H4480; though they willcryוְזָעֲק֣וּve.za.'a.KuH2199outH2199to Me, I will not listenאֶשְׁמַ֖ע'esh.Ma'H8085to them.

12Then the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063and the inhabitantsוְיֹשְׁבֵי֙ve.yo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389willgoוְהָֽלְכ֞וּve.ha.le.KhuH1980and cryוְזָֽעֲקוּ֙ve.za.'a.KuH2199outH2199to the godsהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430to whomאֲשֶׁ֛ר'a.SherH834theyburnH6999incenseH6999,but they certainlyוְהוֹשֵׁ֛עַve.ho.She.a'H3467will not saveיוֹשִׁ֥יעוּyo.Shi.'uH3467them in the timeבְּעֵ֥תbe.'EtH6256of their disasterH7463.

13For your godsאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430areas manyמִסְפַּ֣רmis.ParH4557as your citiesעָרֶ֔יךָ'a.Rei.khaH5892,Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063; andas manyוּמִסְפַּ֞רu.mis.ParH4557as the streetsחֻצ֣וֹתchu.TzotH2351of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389are the altarsמִזְבְּחוֹת֙miz.be.chOtH4196you have setH7760upH7760to theshamefulלַבֹּ֔שֶׁתla.Bo.shetH1322thingH1322,altarsמִזְבְּח֖וֹתmiz.be.ChotH4196forburningH6999incenseH6999to Baalלַבָּֽעַל׃ סla.Ba.'alH1168.

14“So as for you,do not prayתִּתְפַּלֵּל֙tit.pa.LelH6419for thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,norH408liftתִּשָּׂ֥אti.Sa'H5375upH5375a cryרִנָּ֣הri.NahH7440or prayerוּתְפִלָּ֑הu.te.fi.LahH8605for them; for I willnot listenשֹׁמֵ֗עַsho.Me.a'H8085whenבְּעֵ֛תbe.'EtH6256they callקָרְאָ֥םka.re.'AmH7121to Me becauseH1157of their disasterH7463.

15Whatמֶ֣הmehH4100right has Mybelovedלִֽידִידִ֞יli.di.DiH3039in My houseבְּבֵיתִ֗יbe.vei.TiH1004Whenכִּ֥יkiH3588she has carriedH6213outH6213manyהָֽרַבִּ֔יםha.ra.BimH7227evilH4209schemesH4209?Can the sacrificialקֹ֖דֶשׁKo.deshH6944fleshוּבְשַׂר־u.ve.sar-H1320takeH5674awayיַעַבְר֣וּya.'av.RuH5674from you your disasterH7463,Soאָ֥ז'azH227thatyou can rejoiceתַּעֲלֹֽזִי׃ta.'a.Lo.ziH5937?”

16The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068namedקָרָ֥א שְׁמֵ֑ךְka.Ra' she.MekhH7121 H8034you “Agreenרַֽעֲנָן֙ra.'a.NanH7488oliveזַ֤יִתZa.yitH2132treeH2132,beautifulיְפֵ֣הye.PehH3303in fruitפְרִי־fe.ri-H6529and formתֹ֔אַרTo.'arH8389”; With thenoiseלְק֣וֹל׀le.KolH6963of a greatגְדֹלָ֗הge.do.LahH1419tumultהֲמוּלָּ֣הha.mu.LahH1999He hassetהִצִּ֥יתhi.TzitH3341fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784to it,And its branchesדָּלִיּוֹתָֽיו׃da.li.yo.TavH1808are worthlessוְרָע֖וּve.ra.'UH7489.

17The Lordוַיהוָ֤הva.Yah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635, whoplantedהַנּוֹטֵ֣עַha.no.Te.a'H5193you, haspronouncedדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696evilH7463againstעָלַ֖יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921you becauseבִּ֠גְלַלBig.lalH1558of the evilH7463of the houseבֵּֽית־beit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478and the houseוּבֵ֣יתu.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063,whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834they havedoneעָשׂ֥וּ'a.SuH6213to provokeלְהַכְעִסֵ֖נִיle.hakh.'i.Se.niH3707Me byofferingH6999sacrificesH6999to Baalלַבָּֽעַל׃ סla.Ba.'alH1168.

18Moreover, the Lordוַֽיהוָ֥הva.Yah.wehH3068madeH3045it knownH3045to me and I knewH3045it;Thenאָ֖ז'azH227You showedהִרְאִיתַ֥נִיhir.'i.Ta.niH7200me their deedsמַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ma.'a.lei.HemH4611.

19But I was like a gentleאַלּ֖וּף'a.LufH441lambכְּכֶ֥בֶשׂke.Khe.vesH3532ledיוּבַ֣לyu.ValH2986to the slaughterלִטְב֑וֹחַlit.Vo.achH2873;And I did not knowיָדַ֜עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045that they haddevisedחָשְׁב֣וּcha.she.VuH2803plotsמַחֲשָׁב֗וֹתma.cha.sha.VotH4284againstעָלַ֣י׀'a.LaiH5921me, saying, “Let’s destroyנַשְׁחִ֨יתָהnash.Chi.tahH7843the treeעֵ֤ץ'etzH6086with itsfruitבְּלַחְמוֹ֙be.lach.MoH3899, Andlet’s cutוְנִכְרְתֶ֙נּוּ֙ve.nikh.re.Te.nuH3772him offH3772from thelandמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of the livingחַיִּ֔יםchai.YimH2416, So that hisnameוּשְׁמ֖וֹu.she.MoH8034will noH3808longerעֽוֹד׃odH5750be rememberedיִזָּכֵ֥רyi.za.KherH2142.”

20But, Lordוַֽיהוָ֤הva.Yah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635, whojudgesשֹׁפֵ֣טsho.FetH8199righteouslyצֶ֔דֶקTze.dekH6664, WhoputsH974thefeelingsכְּלָי֖וֹתke.la.YotH3629and the heartוָלֵ֑בva.LevH3820toH974theH974testבֹּחֵ֥ןbo.ChenH974,Let me seeאֶרְאֶ֤ה'er.'EhH7200Your vengeanceנִקְמָֽתְךָ֙nik.ma.te.ChaH5360on them, For to You I havecommittedH1556my causeרִיבִֽי׃ סri.ViH7379.

21Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559concerningעַל־'al-H5921the peopleH376ofAnathothעֲנָת֔וֹתa.na.TotH6068, who areseekingהַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֥יםham.vak.ShimH1245your lifeנַפְשְׁךָ֖naf.she.KhaH5315,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559: “Do not prophesyתִנָּבֵא֙ti.na.Ve'H5012in the nameבְּשֵׁ֣םbe.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, so that you do notdieתָמ֖וּתta.MutH4191by our handבְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃ סbe.ya.De.nuH3027”;

22thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651,thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559: “BeholdH2009, I am going topunishפֹקֵ֖דfo.KedH6485them! Theyoungהַבַּֽחוּרִים֙ha.ba.chu.RimH970menH970will dieיָמֻ֣תוּya.Mu.tuH4191by the swordבַחֶ֔רֶבva.Che.revH2719,their sonsבְּנֵיהֶם֙be.nei.HemH1121and daughtersוּבְנ֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔םu.ve.No.tei.HemH1323will dieיָמֻ֖תוּya.Mu.tuH4191by famineבָּרָעָֽב׃ba.ra.'AvH7458;

23and a remnantוּשְׁאֵרִ֕יתu.she.'e.RitH7611will not be leftto them, becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588I willbringאָבִ֥יא'a.Vi'H935disasterH7463on the peopleH376of Anathothעֲנָת֖וֹתa.na.TotH6068--the yearשְׁנַ֥תshe.NatH8141of their punishmentפְּקֻדָּתָֽם׃ סpe.ku.da.TamH6486.”
