15Do not loveἀγαπᾶτεagapateG25the worldκόσμονkosmonG2889norμηδὲmēdeG3366the things in the worldκόσμῳ.kosmōG2889.IfἐάνeanG1437anyoneτιςtisG5100lovesἀγαπᾷagapaG25the worldκόσμον,kosmonG2889,the loveἀγάπηagapēG26of the FatherπατρὸςpatrosG3962is not in him.

16For allπᾶνpanG3956that is in the worldκόσμῳ,kosmōG2889,the lustἐπιθυμίαepithumiaG1939of the fleshσαρκὸςsarkosG4561andthe lustἐπιθυμίαepithumiaG1939of the eyesὀφθαλμῶνophthalmōnG3788andthe boastfulG212prideG212of lifeβίου,biouG979,is not from the FatherπατρὸςpatrosG3962,but is from the worldκόσμουkosmouG2889.

17The worldκόσμοςkosmosG2889is passingG3855awayπαράγεταιparagetaiG3855and alsoits lustsἐπιθυμίαepithumiaG1939; but the one whodoesποιῶνpoiōnG4160the willθέλημαthelēmaG2307of GodθεοῦtheouG2316continuesμένειmeneiG3306to liveforeverαἰῶνα.¶aiōnaG165.

18ChildrenΠαιδία,PaidiaG3813,it is the lastἐσχάτηeschatēG2078hourὥραhōraG5610;and justG2531asG2531you heardἠκούσατεēkousateG191thatantichristἀντίχριστοςantichristosG500is comingἔρχεται,erchetaiG2064,evenG2532nowνῦνnunG3568manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183antichristsἀντίχριστοιantichristoiG500have appearedγεγόνασινgegonasinG1096;fromG3606thisG3606we knowγινώσκομενginōskomenG1097that it is the lastἐσχάτηeschatēG2078hourὥραhōraG5610.

19They wentG1831outG1831from us, but they were not reallyof us; for ifεἰeiG1487they had beenG1510of us, they would have remainedμεμενήκεισανmemenēkeisanG3306with us; but they went out,soἵναinaG2443thatG2443it would be evidentφανερωθῶσινphanerōthōsinG5319that they allπάντεςpantesG3956are not of us.

20But you haveἔχετεecheteG2192ananointingχρῖσμαchrismaG5545fromthe HolyἁγίουhagiouG40OneG40, andyou allπάντες.pantesG3956knowG3609.

21I have not writtenἔγραψαegrapsaG1125to you becauseὅτιhotiG3754you do not knowG3609the truthἀλήθειανalētheianG225, butbecauseὅτιhotiG3754you do knowG3609it, andbecauseὅτιhotiG3754noπᾶνpanG3956 G3756lieψεῦδοςpseudosG5579isof the truthἀληθείαςalētheiasG225.

22WhoτίςtisG5101is the liarψεύστηςpseustēsG5583exceptG1508the one who deniesἀρνούμενοςarnoumenosG720that JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424is theChristΧριστός;ChristosG5547?ThisοὗτόςhoutosG3778isthe antichristἀντίχριστος,antichristosG500,the one who deniesἀρνούμενοςarnoumenosG720the FatherπατέραpateraG3962and the Sonυἱόν.huionG5207.

23WhoeverπᾶςpasG3956deniesἀρνούμενοςarnoumenosG720the SonυἱὸνhuionG5207does not haveἔχει·echeiG2192the FatherπατέραpateraG3962;the one who confessesὁμολογῶνhomologōnG3670the SonυἱὸνhuionG5207hasἔχει.¶echeiG2192the FatherπατέραpateraG3962alsoκαὶkaiG2532.

24As for you, see thatwhatὃhoG3739you heardG191from the beginningἀρχῆςarchēsG746remainsμενέτω.menetōG3306in you. IfἐὰνeanG1437whatὃhoG3739you heard from the beginningἀρχῆςarchēsG746remainsμείνῃmeinēG3306in you, you alsoG2532will remainμενεῖτε.meneiteG3306in the SonυἱῷhuiōG5207and in the FatherπατρὶpatriG3962.

25ThisαὕτηhautēG3778is the promiseἐπαγγελίαepangeliaG1860whichἣνhēnG3739He HimselfαὐτὸςautosG846madeἐπηγγείλατοepēngeilatoG1861to us: eternalαἰώνιον.¶aiōnionG166lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222.

26TheseG3778thingsΤαῦταTautaG3778I have writtenἔγραψαegrapsaG1125to you concerningπερὶperiG4012thoseτῶνtōnG3588who are trying todeceiveπλανώντωνplanōntōnG4105you.

27And as for you, theanointingχρῖσμαchrismaG5545whichὃhoG3739you receivedἐλάβετεelabeteG2983from Him remainsμένειmeneiG3306in you, and you haveἔχετεecheteG2192noG3756needχρείανchreianG5532for anyoneτιςtisG5100to teachδιδάσκῃdidaskēG1321you; but as His anointingχρῖσμαchrismaG5545teachesδιδάσκειdidaskeiG1321you aboutπερὶperiG4012allG3956thingsπάντωνpantōnG3956, and istrueἀληθέςalēthesG227and is not a lieψεῦδοςpseudosG5579,and justG2531asG2531it has taughtἐδίδαξενedidaxenG1321you,you remainμένετεmeneteG3306in Him.

28Nowνῦν,nunG3568,littleτεκνία,tekniaG5040childrenG5040,remainμένετεmeneteG3306in Him, soἵναinaG2443thatG2443whenἐὰνeanG1437Heappearsφανερωθῇ,phanerōthēaG5319,we may haveσχῶμενschōmenG2192confidenceπαρρησίανparrēsianG3954and notdrawG153backG153from Him inG153shameG153at HiscomingπαρουσίᾳparousiaG3952.

29IfἐὰνeanG1437you knowG3609thatHe is righteousδίκαιόςdikaiosG1342,you knowγινώσκετεginōsketeG1097that everyoneπᾶςpasG3956who practicesποιῶνpoiōnG4160righteousnessδικαιοσύνηνdikaiosunēnG1343alsoκαὶkaiG2532has been bornγεγέννηται.gegennētaiG1080of Him.
