Matthew 19:3-12
3Some PhariseesG5330 cameG4334 to 1Jesus, testingG3985 Him and askingG3004, “2Is it lawfulG1832 for a man to 3divorceG630 his wifeG1135 for anyG3956 reasonG156 at allG3956?” 4And He answeredG611 and saidG3004, “Have you not readG314 4that He who createdG2936 them from the beginningG746 madeG4160 them maleG733 and femaleG2338, 5and saidG3004, ‘5For thisG3778 reasonG1752 a manG444 shall leaveG2641 his fatherG3962 and motherG3384 and be joinedG2853 to his wifeG1135, and 6the twoG1417 shall becomeG1510G1519 oneG1520 fleshG4561’? 6SoG5620 they are noG3765 longerG3765 twoG1417, but oneG1520 fleshG4561. WhatG3739 thereforeG3767 GodG2316 has joinedG4801 togetherG4801, let noG3361 manG444 separateG5563.” 7They saidG3004 to Him, “7WhyG5101 thenG3767 did MosesG3475 commandG1781 to giveG1325 her a certificateG975 of divorceG647 and sendG630 her awayG630?” 8He saidG3004 to them, “BecauseG4314 of your hardnessG4641 of heartG4641 MosesG3475 permittedG2010 you to 8divorceG630 your wivesG1135; but from the beginningG746 it has not beenG1096 thisG3779 wayG3779. 9And I sayG3004 to you, 9whoeverG3739G302 10divorcesG630 his wifeG1135, exceptG3361 for 11immoralityG4202, and marriesG1060 anotherG243 womanG243 12commitsG3429 adulteryG342913.”
10The disciplesG3101 saidG3004 to Him, “IfG1487 the relationshipG156 of the manG444 with his wifeG1135 is likeG3779 thisG3779, it is betterG4851 not to marryG1060.” 11But He saidG3004 to them, “14Not allG3956 menG3956 can acceptG5562 thisG3778 statementG3056, but 15only those to whomG3739 it has been givenG1325. 12For there are eunuchsG2135 whoG3748 were bornG1080 that wayG3779 from their mother’sG3384 wombG2836; and there are eunuchsG2135 whoG3748 were madeG2134 eunuchsG2134 by menG444; and there are also eunuchsG2135 whoG3748 madeG2134 themselvesG1438 eunuchsG2134 for the sakeG1223 of the kingdomG932 of heavenG3772. He who is ableG1410 to acceptG5562 this, let him acceptG5562 it.”
