Parable of the Vineyard

1Let me singH7891 nowH4994 for my well-belovedH3039 A songH7892 of my belovedH1730 concerning His vineyardH3754. My well-belovedH3039 hadH1961 a 1vineyardH3754 on 2a fertileH1121H8081 hillH7161.2He dugH5823 it all aroundH5823, removedH5619 its stonesH5619, And plantedH5193 it with 3the 4choicestH8321 vineH8321. And He builtH1129 a towerH4026 in the middleH8432 of it And alsoH1571 hewedH2672 out a 5wineH3342 vatH3342 in it; Then He 6expectedH6960 it to produceH6213 good grapesH6025, But it producedH6213 only 7worthlessH891 onesH891.

3“And nowH6258, O inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389 and menH376 of JudahH3063, 8JudgeH8199 betweenH996 Me and My vineyardH3754.49WhatH4100 moreH5750 was there to doH6213 for My vineyardH3754 10that I have not doneH6213 in it? WhyH4069, when I expectedH6960 it to produceH6213 good grapesH6025 did it produceH6213 11worthlessH891 onesH891?5So nowH6258 let Me tellH3045 you whatH834 I am going to doH6213 to My vineyardH3754: I will 12removeH5493 its hedgeH4905 and it will be consumedH1197; I will 13breakH6555 downH6555 its wallH1447 and it will becomeH1961 14trampledH4823 groundH4823.6I will 15layH7896 it wasteH1326; It will not be prunedH2168 or hoedH5737, But briarsH8068 and thornsH7898 will comeH5927 up. I will also chargeH6680 the cloudsH5645 to 16rainH4305 noH4480 rainH4306 on it.”

7For the 17vineyardH3754 of the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 is the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 And the menH376 of JudahH3063 His delightfulH8191 plantH5194. Thus He lookedH6960 for justiceH4941, but beholdH2009, 18bloodshedH4939; For righteousnessH6666, but beholdH2009, a cryH6818 of distressH6818.

Woes for the Wicked

8WoeH1945 to those who 19addH5060 houseH1004 to houseH1004 and joinH7126 fieldH7704 to fieldH7704, UntilH5704 there is noH657 moreH657 roomH4725, So that you have to liveH3427 aloneH905 in the midstH7130 of the landH776!9In my earsH241 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 has sworn, “SurelyH518H3808, 20manyH7227 housesH1004 shall becomeH1961 21desolateH8047, Even greatH1419 and fineH2896 onesH2896, withoutH369 occupantsH3427.10For 22tenH6235 acresH6776 of vineyardH3754 will yieldH6213 only oneH259 23bathH1324 of wine, And a 24homerH2563 of seedH2233 will yieldH6213 but an 25ephahH374 of grain.”11WoeH1945 to those who riseH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242 that they may pursueH7291 26strongH7941 drinkH7941, Who stayH309 up lateH309 in the eveningH5399 that wineH3196 may inflameH1814 them!12Their banquetsH4960 are accompanied by lyreH3658 and 27harpH5035, by tambourineH8596 and fluteH2485, and by wineH3196; But they 28do not payH5027 attentionH5027 to the deedsH6467 of the LordH3068, NorH3808 do they considerH7200 the workH4639 of His handsH3027.

13ThereforeH3651 My peopleH5971 goH1540 into exileH1540 for their 29lackH1097 of knowledgeH1847; And 30their 31honorableH3519 menH4962 are famishedH7458, And their multitudeH1995 is parchedH6704 with thirstH6772.14ThereforeH3651 32SheolH7585 has enlargedH7337 its 33throatH5315 and openedH6473 its mouthH6310 withoutH1097 measureH2706; And 34Jerusalem’s splendorH1926, her multitudeH1995, her dinH7588 of revelry and the jubilantH5938 within her, descendH3381 into it.15So the common manH120 will be humbledH7817 and the manH376 of importance abasedH8213, 35The eyesH5869 of the proudH1364 also will be abasedH8213.16But the 36LordH3068 of hostsH6635 will be 37exaltedH1361 in judgmentH4941, And the holyH6918 GodH410 will showH6942 Himself 38holyH6942 in righteousnessH6666.1739Then the lambsH3532 will grazeH7462 as in their pastureH1699, And strangersH1481 will eatH398 in the wasteH2723 placesH2723 of the 40wealthyH4220.

18WoeH1945 to those who dragH4900 41iniquityH5771 with the cordsH2256 of 42falsehoodH7723, And sinH2403 as if with cartH5699 ropesH5688;1943Who sayH559, “Let Him makeH4116 speedH4116, let Him hastenH2363 His workH4639, that we may seeH7200 it; And let the purposeH6098 of the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478 drawH7126 nearH7126 And comeH935 to passH935, that we may knowH3045 it!”20WoeH1945 to those who 44callH559 evilH7451 goodH2896, and goodH2896 evilH7451; Who 4546substituteH7760 darknessH2822 for lightH216 and lightH216 for darknessH2822; Who 47substituteH7760 bitterH4751 for sweetH4966 and sweetH4966 for bitterH4751!21WoeH1945 to those whoH2450 are 48wiseH2450 in their own eyesH5869 And cleverH995 in their own sightH5048H6440!2249WoeH1945 to those who are heroesH1368 in drinkingH8354 wineH3196 And valiantH2428 menH376 in mixingH4537 strongH7941 drinkH7941,2350Who justifyH6663 the wickedH7563 for a bribeH7810, And 51takeH5493 awayH5493 the 52rightsH6666 of the ones whoH6662 are in the rightH6662!

24ThereforeH3651, 53as a tongueH3956 of fireH784 consumesH398 stubbleH7179 And dryH2842 grassH2842 collapsesH7503 into the flameH3852, So their 54rootH8328 will becomeH1961 55like rotH4716 and their blossomH6525 56blowH5927 awayH5927 as dustH80; For they have 57rejectedH3988 the lawH8451 of the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 And despisedH5006 the wordH565 of the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478.25On thisH3651 accountH3651 the 58angerH639 of the LordH3068 has burnedH2734 against His peopleH5971, And He has stretchedH5186 out His handH3027 againstH5921 them and struckH5221 them downH5221. And the 59mountainsH2022 quakedH7264, and their 60corpsesH5038 61layH1961 like refuseH5478 in the middleH7130 of the streetsH2351. 62For allH3605 thisH2088 His angerH639 63is not spentH7725, But His 64handH3027 is stillH5750 stretchedH5186 out.

26He will also liftH5375 up a 65standardH5251 to the 66distantH7350 nationH1471, And will 67whistleH8319 for it 68from the endsH7097 of the earthH776; And beholdH2009, it will 69comeH935 with speedH4120 swiftlyH7031.2770NoH369 oneH369 in it is wearyH5889 or stumblesH3782, NoneH3808 slumbersH5123 or sleepsH3462; NorH3808 is the 71beltH232 at its waistH2504 undoneH6605, NorH3808 its sandalH5275 strapH8288 brokenH5423.287273Its arrowsH2671 are sharpH8150 and allH3605 its bowsH7198 are bentH1869; The hoofsH6541 of its horsesH5483 74seemH2803 like flintH6862 and its chariot 75wheelsH1534 like a whirlwindH5492.29Its 76roaringH7581 is like a lionessH3833, and it roarsH7580 like youngH3715 lionsH3715; It growlsH5098 as it 77seizesH270 the preyH2964 And carriesH6403 it offH6403 with 78noH369 oneH369 to deliverH5337 it.30And it will 79growlH5098 overH5921 it in that dayH3117 like the roaringH5100 of the seaH3220. If one 80looksH5027 to the landH776, beholdH2009, there is darknessH2822 and distressH6862; Even the lightH216 is darkenedH2821 by its cloudsH6183.
