Birth and Reign of the Prince of Peace

11But there will be noH3808 more 2gloomH4155 for her whoH834 was in anguishH4164; in earlierH7223 timesH6256 He 3treatedH7043 the 4landH776 of ZebulunH2074 and the landH776 of NaphtaliH5321 with contemptH7043, but laterH314 on He shall makeH3513 it gloriousH3513, by the wayH1870 of the seaH3220, on the otherH5676 sideH5676 of JordanH3383, GalileeH1551 of the 5GentilesH1471.267The peopleH5971 who walkH1980 in darknessH2822 Will seeH7200 a greatH1419 lightH216; Those who liveH3427 in a darkH6757 landH776, The lightH216 will shineH5050 on them.38You shall multiplyH7235 the nationH1471, You 9shall 10increaseH1431 11their gladnessH8057; They will be gladH8055 in Your presenceH6440 As with the gladnessH8057 12of harvestH7105, As 1314men rejoiceH1523 when they divideH2505 the spoilH7998.4For 15You shall breakH2865 the yokeH5923 of their burdenH5448 and the staffH4294 on their shouldersH7926, The rodH7626 of their 16oppressorH5065, as 17at the battleH3117 of 18MidianH4080.5For everyH3605 bootH5430 of the bootedH5431 warriorH5431 in the battle tumultH7494, And cloakH8071 rolledH1556 in bloodH1818, will be for burningH8316, fuelH3980 for the fireH784.6For a 19childH3206 will be bornH3205 to us, a 20sonH1121 will be givenH5414 to us; And the 21governmentH4951 will 22restH1961 23on His shouldersH7926; And His nameH8034 will be calledH7121 24WonderfulH6382 CounselorH3289, 25MightyH1368 GodH410, EternalH5703 26FatherH1, PrinceH8269 of 27PeaceH7965.7ThereH369 will be 28noH369 endH7093 to the increaseH4766 of His governmentH4951 or of peaceH7965, On the 29throneH3678 of DavidH1732 and overH5921 his kingdomH4467, To establishH3559 it and to upholdH5582 it with 30justiceH4941 and righteousnessH6666 From thenH6258 on and forevermoreH5703H5769. 31The zealH7068 of the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 will accomplishH6213 thisH2088.

God’s Anger with Israel’s Arrogance

8The LordH136 sendsH7971 a 32messageH1697 against JacobH3290, And it fallsH5307 on IsraelH3478.9And allH3605 the peopleH5971 knowH3045 it, That is, 33EphraimH669 and the inhabitantsH3427 of SamariaH8111, AssertingH559 in prideH1346 and in 34arroganceH1433 of heartH3824:10“The bricksH3843 have fallenH5307 downH5307, But we will 35rebuildH1129 with smoothH1496 stonesH1496; The sycamoresH8256 have been cutH1438 downH1438, But we will replaceH2498 them with cedarsH730.”11Therefore the LordH3068 raisesH7682 againstH5921 them adversariesH6862 from 36RezinH7526 And spursH5526 their enemiesH340 on,12The ArameansH758 on the eastH6924 and the 37PhilistinesH6430 on the westH268; And they 38devourH398 IsraelH3478 with 39gapingH3605 jawsH6310. 40In spite of allH3605 thisH2088, His angerH639 does not turnH7725 awayH7725 And His handH3027 is stillH5750 stretchedH5186 out.

13Yet the peopleH5971 41do not turnH7725 backH7725 to Him who struckH5221 them, NorH3808 do they 42seekH1875 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635.14So the LordH3068 cutsH3772 offH3772 43headH7218 and tailH2180 from IsraelH3478, Both palmH3712 branchH3712 and bulrushH100 44in a singleH259 dayH3117.15The headH7218 is 45the elderH2205 and honorableH6440H5375 man, And the prophetH5030 who teachesH3384 46falsehoodH8267 is the tailH2180.1647For those who guideH833 thisH2088 peopleH5971 are leadingH8582 them astrayH8582; And those who are guidedH833 by them are 48broughtH1104 to confusionH1104.17ThereforeH5921H3651 the LordH136 does 49not takeH8055 pleasureH8055 in their youngH970 menH970, 50NorH3808 does He haveH7355 pityH7355 on their 51orphansH3490 or their widowsH490; For everyH3605 oneH3605 of them is 52godlessH2611 and an 53evildoerH7489, And everyH3605 54mouthH6310 is speakingH1696 foolishnessH5039. 55In spite of allH3605 thisH2088, His angerH639 does not turnH7725 awayH7725 And His handH3027 is stillH5750 stretchedH5186 out.

1856For wickednessH7564 burnsH1197 like a fireH784; It consumesH398 briarsH8068 and thornsH7898; It even setsH3341 the thicketsH5442 of the forestH3293 aflameH3341 And they rollH55 upwardH55 in a columnH1348 of smokeH6227.19By the 57furyH5678 of the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 the 58landH776 is burnedH6272 up, And the 59peopleH5971 are like fuelH3980 for the fireH784; NoH3808 60manH376 sparesH2550 his brotherH251.2061They sliceH1504 offH1504 what is on the rightH3225 handH3225 but still are 62hungryH7456, And 63they eatH398 what is on the leftH8040 handH8040 but they are not satisfiedH7646; EachH376 of them eatsH398 the 64fleshH1320 of his own armH2220.21ManassehH4519 devours EphraimH669, and EphraimH669 ManassehH4519, 65And togetherH3164 they are againstH5921 JudahH3063. 66In spite of allH3605 thisH2088, His angerH639 does not turnH7725 awayH7725 And His handH3027 is stillH5750 stretchedH5186 out.
