Separation from God
1BeholdH2005, 1the Lord’sH3068 handH3027 is not soH4480 shortH7114 That it cannotH4480 saveH3467; 2NorH3808 is His earH241 soH4480 dullH3513 That it cannotH4480 hearH8085.2But your 3iniquitiesH5771 have madeH914 a separationH914 betweenH996 you and your GodH430, And your sinsH2403 have hiddenH5641 His 4faceH6440 from you soH4480 that He does 5not hearH8085.3For your 6handsH3709 are defiledH1351 with bloodH1818 And your fingersH676 with iniquityH5771; Your lipsH8193 have spokenH1696 7falsehoodH8267, Your tongueH3956 muttersH1897 wickednessH5767.48NoH369 oneH369 suesH7121 righteouslyH6664 and 9noH369 oneH369 pleadsH8199 10honestlyH530. They 11trustH982 in confusionH8414 and speakH1696 liesH7723; They 12conceiveH2029 mischiefH5999 and bringH3205 forthH3205 iniquityH205.5They hatchH1234 adders’H6848 eggsH1000 and 13weaveH707 the spider’sH5908 webH6980; He who eatsH398 of their eggsH1000 diesH4191, And from that which is crushedH2115 a snakeH660 breaksH1234 forthH1234.6Their websH6980 will not becomeH1961 clothingH899, NorH3808 will they 14coverH3680 themselves with their worksH4639; Their 15worksH4639 are worksH4639 of iniquityH205, And an 16actH6467 of violenceH2555 is in their 17handsH3709.718Their feetH7272 runH7323 to evilH7451, And they hastenH4116 to shedH8210 innocentH5355 bloodH1818; 19Their thoughtsH4284 are thoughtsH4284 of iniquityH205, DevastationH7701 and destructionH7667 are in their highwaysH4546.8They do not knowH3045 the 20wayH1870 of peaceH7965, And thereH369 is 21noH369 justiceH4941 in their tracksH4570; They have madeH6140 their pathsH5410 crookedH6140, 22WhoeverH3605 treadsH1869 on 23them does not knowH3045 peaceH7965.
A Confession of Wickedness
9ThereforeH5921H3651 24justiceH4941 is farH7368 from us, And righteousnessH6666 does not overtakeH5381 us; We 25hopeH6960 for lightH216, but beholdH2009, darknessH2822, For brightnessH5054, but we walkH1980 in gloomH653.10We 26gropeH1659 along the wallH7023 like blindH5787 menH5787, We gropeH1659 like those who haveH369 noH369 eyesH5869; We 27stumbleH3782 at middayH6672 as in the twilightH5399, Among those whoH820 are vigorousH820 we are 28like deadH4191 men.11AllH3605 of us growlH1993 like bearsH1677, And 29moanH1897 sadlyH1897 like dovesH3123; We hopeH6960 for 30justiceH4941, but thereH369 is noneH369, For salvationH3444, but it is farH7368 from us.12For our 31transgressionsH6588 are multipliedH7231 beforeH5048 You, And our 32sinsH2403 33testifyH6030 against us; For our transgressionsH6588 are with us, And 34we knowH3045 our iniquitiesH5771:13TransgressingH6586 and 35denyingH3584 the LordH3068, And turningH5472 awayH5472 from our GodH430, SpeakingH1696 36oppressionH6233 and revoltH5627, ConceivingH2029 in and 37utteringH1897 from the heartH3820 lyingH8267 wordsH1697.1438JusticeH4941 is turnedH5472 backH268, And 39righteousnessH6666 standsH5975 farH7350 awayH4480; For truthH571 has stumbledH3782 in the streetH7339, And uprightnessH5228 cannotH3201H3808 enterH935.15Yes, truthH571 is lackingH5737; And he who turnsH5493 asideH5493 from evilH7451 40makesH7997 himself a preyH7997. Now the LordH3068 sawH7200, And it was 41displeasingH7489 in His sightH5869 42that thereH369 was noH369 justiceH4941.16And He sawH7200 that thereH369 was 43noH369 manH376, And was astonishedH8074 that thereH369 was noH369 oneH369 to intercedeH6293; Then His 44own armH2220 broughtH3467 salvationH3467 to Him, And His righteousnessH6666 upheldH5564 Him.17He putH3847 on 45righteousnessH6666 like a breastplateH8302, And a 46helmetH3553 of salvationH3444 on His headH7218; And He putH3847 on 47garmentsH899 of vengeanceH5359 for clothingH8516 And wrappedH5844 Himself with 48zealH7068 as a mantleH4598.1849AccordingH5921 to their 50deedsH1578, 51soH5921 He will repayH7999, WrathH2534 to His adversariesH6862, recompenseH1576 to His enemiesH340; To the coastlandsH339 He will 52makeH7999 recompenseH1576.19So they will fearH3372 the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 from the 53westH4628 And His gloryH3519 from the 54risingH4217 of the sunH8121, For He will 55comeH935 like a 56rushingH6862 streamH5104 Which the windH7307 of the LordH3068 drivesH5127.20“A 57RedeemerH1350 will comeH935 to ZionH6726, And to those who 58turnH7725 from transgressionH6588 in JacobH3290,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068.
21“As for Me, thisH2088 is My 59covenantH1285 with them,” saysH559 the LordH3068: “My 60SpiritH7307 whichH834 is upon you, and My 61wordsH1697 whichH834 I have putH7760 in your mouthH6310 shall not departH4185 from your mouthH6310, norH3808 from the mouthH6310 of your 62offspringH2233, norH3808 from the mouthH6310 of your 63offspring’sH2233 offspringH2233,” saysH559 the LordH3068, “from nowH6258 and foreverH5704H5769.”
