Hezekiah Healed
11In thoseH1992 daysH3117 HezekiahH2396 becameH2470 2mortallyH4191 illH2470. And 3IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 the sonH1121 of AmozH531 cameH935 to him and saidH559 to him, “ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, ‘4SetH6680 your houseH1004 in orderH6680, for you shall dieH4191 and not liveH2421.’” 2Then HezekiahH2396 turnedH5437 his faceH6440 to the wallH7023 and prayedH6419 to the LordH3068, 3and saidH559, “5RememberH2142 nowH4994, OH577 LordH3068, I beseechH577 You, howH834 I have 6walkedH1980 beforeH6440 You in truthH571 and with a 7wholeH8003 heartH3820, and 8have doneH6213 whatH2896 is goodH2896 in Your sightH5869.” And HezekiahH2396 9weptH1058 10bitterlyH1419.
4Then the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to IsaiahH3470, sayingH559, 5“GoH1980 and sayH559 to HezekiahH2396, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of your fatherH1 DavidH1732, “I have heardH8085 your prayerH8605, I have seenH7200 your tearsH1832; beholdH2009, I will addH3254 11fifteenH2568H6240 yearsH8141 to your 12lifeH3117. 6I will 13deliverH5337 you and thisH2088 cityH5892 from the handH3709 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804; and I will defendH1598 thisH2088 cityH5892.”’
7“ThisH2088 shall be the 14signH226 to you from the LordH3068, that the LordH3068 will doH6213 thisH2088 thingH1697 that He has spokenH1696: 8BeholdH2009, I will 15causeH7725 the shadowH6738 on the stairwayH4609, whichH834 has goneH3381 downH3381 with the sunH8121 on the stairwayH4609 of AhazH271, to goH7725 backH322 tenH6235 stepsH4609.” So the 16sun’sH8121 shadow wentH7725 backH7725 tenH6235 stepsH4609 on the stairwayH4609 on whichH834 it had goneH3381 downH3381.
9A writingH4385 of HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 after his illnessH2483 and 17recoveryH2421:10I saidH559, “18In the middleH1824 of my 19lifeH3117 I am to enterH1980 the 20gatesH8179 of SheolH7585; I am to be 21deprivedH6485 of the restH3499 of my yearsH8141.”11I saidH559, “I will not seeH7200 the LordH3050, The LordH3050 22in the landH776 of the livingH2416; I will lookH5027 on manH120 noH3808 moreH5750 amongH5973 the inhabitantsH3427 of the worldH2465.12Like a shepherd’sH7473 23tentH168 my dwellingH1755 is pulledH5265 up and removedH1540 from me; As a 24weaverH707 I 25rolledH7088 up my lifeH2425. He 26cutsH1214 me offH1214 from the loomH1803; From 27dayH3117 untilH5704 nightH3915 You makeH7999 an endH7999 of me.13I composedH7737 my soul untilH5704 morningH1242. 28Like a lionH738--soH3651 He 29breaksH7665 allH3605 my bonesH6106, From 30dayH3117 untilH5704 nightH3915 You makeH7999 an endH7999 of me.1431Like a swallowH5483, like a craneH5693, soH3651 I twitterH6850; I 32moanH1897 like a doveH3123; My 33eyesH5869 lookH1809 wistfullyH1809 to the heightsH4791; O LordH3068, I am oppressedH6234, be my 34securityH6148.
15“35WhatH4100 shall I sayH1696? 36For He has spokenH559 to me, and He HimselfH1931 has doneH6213 it; I will 37wanderH1718 about allH3605 my yearsH8141 becauseH5921 of the 38bitternessH4751 of my soulH5315.16O LordH136, 39by these things men liveH2421, And in allH3605 these is the lifeH2425 of my spiritH7307; 4041O restoreH2492 me to healthH2492 and 42let me liveH2421!17LoH2009, for my own welfareH7965 I hadH4843 greatH4751 bitternessH4751; It is You who has 4344keptH2836 my soulH5315 from the pitH7845 of 45nothingnessH1097, For You have 46castH7993 allH3605 my sinsH2399 behindH310 Your backH1460.18For 47SheolH7585 cannotH3808 thankH3034 You, DeathH4194 cannot praiseH1984 You; Those who goH3381 downH3381 48to the pitH953 cannotH3808 hopeH7663 for Your faithfulnessH571.19It is the 49livingH2416 who giveH3034 thanksH3034 to You, as I do todayH3117; A 50fatherH1 tellsH3045 his sonsH1121 aboutH413 Your faithfulnessH571.20The LordH3068 will surely saveH3467 me; So we will 51playH5059 my songsH5058 on stringedH5058 instruments 52AllH3605 the daysH3117 of our lifeH2425 53at the houseH1004 of the LordH3068.”
21Now 54IsaiahH3470 had saidH559, “Let them takeH5375 a cakeH1690 of figsH8384 and applyH4799 it to the boilH7822, that he may recoverH2421.” 22Then HezekiahH2396 had saidH559, “WhatH4100 is the 55signH226 that I shall goH5927 up to the houseH1004 of the LordH3068?”
